Uhh...*major facepalm*. Dude, it's called a speed limit for a reason. Refer to the citation below for more explanation. The speed limit, despite what 90% of people think, is actually a limit; not a recommendation or idea.

Looking at your definition which looks like you just copied and paste, it seems that you didn't remember that when doing triple digit speed from your history.
The cop may have every right to pull you over for doing 1 mile over the "limit..." , but how are you going to tell 1 mile over the limit? Also, speed limits may say what the limit should say, but it also depends on the traffic conditions; if you're a lone driver then yes; if you're with a group of cars speed limit can stick it because of the flow of traffic.
Talked about it more than I should have.
