Use whatever rationale you like, you're pirating games.
Your point being?
Pirating has been done massively since the invention of the cassette, with which you could record your favourite songs off of the radio.
Later with the double deck cassette recorders you could also copy your friend's music.
If you had two videorecorders you could easily copy any movie you wished from your friends, which he often bought. And you could copy your bought movies for him.
In the 70's and 80's there was massive sharing going on of software (yes, it was called sharing in those days and not pirating) via the good old BBS (often a sharing point in between people who knew each other). A precurser for what you now all know of a website, chat and forum in one on the internet. With the difference that you phoned/dialed into the particular site. So it's not one massive browse experience like you have now.
To be honest, it's not since the very late 90's and mostly early 00's that the industry started a massive marketing campaign against sharing of these things with friends.
So what did they end up calling it eventually to make it sound like your the lowest of low criminal that's almost equal to a mass murdered. Well, they called it pirating. With that they went on a witch hunt and did some mass lobbying with government officials to get a few laws through to make it illegal that you share your stuff with your friends.
So yeah, we got DRM and we got all sorts of crap. However, what difference did it make to the industry in the end?
Did the industry gain more from the witch hunt financially, or did they just loose money? I mean you'd have to pay tons of lawyers, coders for the DRM... blah blah blah.
I think the only thing we've lost is freedom and privacy, with more bureaucracy before we can eventually enjoy our movies, games... whatever. Yes, movies too because of all the stupid **** about the FBI blah and whatever to tell me not to copy the tape.
To be honest, I don't see the point in going with the 'hype' of being anti-pirate.
According to Steam I have 267 games in my list, so it's not like I don't support the industry. But I am also going to download Grid 2 first before I buy it. I am not convinced from the footage that I will like it.
If I had to base my purchase purely on that, I would not even consider buying it. However, since I have this option available to try the game I will take it.
I am sure everyone has their opinion and has grown up with a different set of values. I respect that, but also try to respect mine and agree to disagree.

Like I said, the industry has not changed ever since that campaign started so... why worry?
