A few off-season tidbits have come along including:
* Northern Iowa cutting their baseball team because of financial issues
* the A-Rod steroid scandal, and naming the University of Miami's baseball field in his honor
* (locally) I'm proud of my Houston Lady Cougars for a great job in the NCAA Softball playoffs
