Honestly... who's going to stop Kentucky? I don't have them winning it all, but this team is just too good. They are leading #18 Arkansas 69-47 at home with 10:04 left in the 2nd Half right now as of this post.

"Beware the ides of March."

...or so it was said in the realm of Julius Caesar. But for us college basketball fans, bring on March! This is the month where most people really care about college basketball. This is where small schools can have as much a chance to be National Champions as any major school. It is going to be another wild March of college basketball for men and women. There will be finalists. There will be snubs. Regardless, this is the climax of college hoops for most people ranging from late season matches to conference tournaments to the tournament itself.

Strap in, folks. It's going to be a wild ride.

The only way that I can see Michigan getting in is either through a miracle or if the committee gets drunk and puts them in while they still have some alcohol in their system.

Well, on the bright side, your Michigan Wolverines are in a better position in the Big Ten than my sorry Houston Cougars in the American. Most people now are thinking of who will be the #1 seeds come Selection Sunday. To me, these are who I would consider my Top Seeds for now:

* Kentucky
* Virginia
* Villanova
* Gonzaga

Still a lot of basketball to be played, but I think these are the four best to me right now. Some would install Duke as a top seed. Maybe even Wisconsin. I think someone even had Arizona underrated.

Most of the basketball going on right now is either late conference games or conference tournament games. The playoff brackets will slowly be filled out between now and next weekend in advance to Selection Sunday.

I feel odd that I have not made an appearance in this thread this year, so I will just leave this brief message.

It's Selection Sunday. Those brackets will be set up to determine who all will have an equal opportunity to win the National Championship. I'm probably not going to report everything. So be sure to chime in here and offer your thoughts on this season's tournament bracket.

Go Flyers!

Mark Titus from OSU's "Club Trillion" did a Reddit AMA yesterday. One of the questions was if UK's starters were split 2 and 3 into two UK teams, how far would each half go in the tournament. They'd both get pretty far honestly.

So... are you ready for March Madness? If not, here is your look at this year's NCAA Men's D1 basketball Tournament:

The Selection Show on CBS had Doug G. upset that UCLA got in though UCLA didn't do too much to impress him in their selection into the tourney. Anyhow, this is the men's tournament. Some time later this week will be the tournament for the women.

Some talk radio guys here think the second string could be a championship contending team on their own.

I realistically can only see 2-3 teams being a true threat to Kentucky. Wisconsin, Duke, and maybe Virginia are about the most complete teams around right now that could even give them a chance in my eyes. But even then, it would still be more likely that Kentucky would have better odds of falling apart and beating themselves rather than anyone beating them.

This. I would prefer that they had just one loss to remind them that any game can be a loss. Often you will see good teams blow a first or second round game because they are already focused on the finals.

But UK will be playing in Louisville for the first two rounds. Might as well be home games. They've even been selling tickets on Groupon.

Sounds familiar. I suppose I can let Kentucky get this one - I had my fill of championships back in January.

Pretty bummed about Dayton getting stuck with a First Four game. Hopefully that proves to be the bad decision that many people think - we're 21-0 at home so far.

Perfect bracket so far after one game....
2 games....
Aaaaaand no longer perfect. Fun while it lasted.
As long as Kentucky stays perfect though, I'm happy.

I should hurry up and rename mine to say "This bracket sucks" because every bracket I have ever made winds up being trashed within the first few games.

Why the name? Are you predicting WVU to win?
Don't you have to actually win a championship to claim that as your championship celebration?

Burn all the couches you want. We reserve it for the real achievements.

It's kind of like banners. At a bar in Louisville they have UK and UofL banners over the bar. The UK banner just lists NCAA Championships. The UofL banner lists NCAA Championships and Final Four appearances in order to fill the same amount of space. The difference between a dynasty and a wannabe: About 70 miles.

I already took Sub-Optimal Picks. So if you were thinking that, then you are out of luck.
Well now, nobody can have "My bracket sucks" either because I just renamed my bracket to that. :lol:

We still started the tradition.

Ha ha real funny. Anyways not denying that Kentucky is an excellent team; I even picked UK as the winner as painful as it was. I'm just stating that we inveted the tradition of couch burning (which by the way is illegal in Morgantown mainly because a lot of couches are stolen plus riots go hand in hand with them). Also it's more of a football tradition (a sport in which we would usually destroy UK at)
