I was going to come in last every race. There is no point in racing the rest of the tournament only to lose.

Think. I came in last the first race, but not just last. I didn't even come close to finishing. I was a full FOUR laps behind, and only because the car had auto-pilot. I wouldn't have finished lap 1 without it.
Same thing with the Lamborghini race. I was on lap 2 when everyone else was on lap 6. Maybe if damage and penalties had been off, but they weren't.

Damage and penalties are on to keep things as clean as can be, and to prevent cheating. If you can't drive with that on, then I don't know what else to say.

I just felt a bit sad that gamerdog was always coming in last and wanted to give something to him as a consolation prize for participating.
