Competitive Racing License

but how many do you need just to move it one color?

50 completed online races to get to Bronze, 100 to get to Silver, 200 to get to Gold, 350 to get to Platinum. Although for me, I had to complete 54 to get to Bronze, so I think it only counts races with the ratings system turned on. Currently I'm on 88, aiming to get Gold in the next week or so.

Well, my rating is not going the way I would like it - after a good few races where rammers seemed to populate the servers, I have got some many cautions I've lost count. Although the frustration in the moment was abject internal rage with a hint of vocal abuse at the screen, I found it hard to curse the rating system overall.

The chances of it being anything like accurate overall are slim, I mean, look at F1, they can't please everyone with their decisions on who is at fault in a contact through close racing, and they are humans who are supposed to have cognitive abilities! A game? It will place some rules and hope that they cover 95% of the likely outcomes in a fair and balanced manner. - kinda what PC2 seem to have done.

Yes, it is a shame that it penalises someone for contact that isn't their fault. Yes it is annoying when your rating dies due to a disconnect through no fault of your own, but at least for me, I am happy to have some form of a rating system in place and am happy to wait until it is fine tuned / developed to reflect a fairer overall balance.

Now to find a server where rammers and people who think that an overtake is using you as a brake are far and few between :)

Yesterday was especially bad with rammers! I think there are professional rammers out there now, who let you pass, then tag your tail as you're doing it and spin you out as you go by. Happened to me twice in one race by 2 different racers (surprise surprise, racing GT3's at Monza!). I also found that some higher-rated drivers tend to drive dirty now, had a B1600-rated driver take me off track, probably scared of me overtaking him and he losing some points.

Had another instance where it was rolling start, set to auto control, and my car tagged the one in front, completely out of my own control, and I got a penalty for it!

Then there was the beauty over the weekend, a bunch of U-rated drivers trying out a Formula X 11-lap race at Monza, with a formation lap and full damage. Most of the field didn't get past the formation lap due to the chaos!

What I try do now (especially with Monza), is start as far back as possible, let the Turn 1 chaos sort itself out, and I just watch all the cars going airborne, and (hopefully) glide by.

And don't get me started on the people who don't know how to mute their microphones. Was in a lobby with a guy arging with his girlfriend, and then asking her to go buy him burgers. Pretty hard to mute these numpties when you're in a race. Should be a mute-all set by default.

Really getting turned off the MP in this game now.

Sorry for your troubles, but it did make for one entertaining post. I actually laughed about a guy with the burgers. Pretty much stereotypical gamer and I’ve heard many of those myself in the past.

Feeling your pain....but this post did make my chuckle....thanks for that :)

SO frustrating when you're having a good race and a lapped car proceeds to brake check you or punt you into the wall. Takes all the fun out of a race that sometimes push over 1 hour for P/Q/R. My safety rating never changes from F.

Patch 3.0 notes:

Online Reputation: When being kicked from a race, the system now checks your recent history to help decide if points should be deducted from your ranking score.
Online Reputation: Fixed a bug where remaining players would not score for a win against disconnected players.

Not sure if 'being kicked' includes quitting and/or disconnecting, but checking recent history looks like a good first step in dealing with occasional disconnects. 👍 Still, deducting any points from the ranking leads to a systemic problem, since the points disappear and aren't passed on to anyone else. 👎

So there was a bug, and now scores will account for disconnects properly, as we all thought they should (and possibly did in the case of quitting, the patch note isn't clear if that was also affected). 👍

I guess they doubled the points available to gain in a race or something. I got 14 points yesterday in a race with lower ranked players, went from 1602 to 1616. Previously gained 6 on a small race, so there´s something in the air. Up until the patch i was gaining only 2-3 points per race, but losing a lot if i didn´t win.

I'm trying like hell to get my rating but it's difficult when you get rammed off the road by folks that don't use their brakes.

I have a C safety rating and happy with that but to be honest it does not make much difference as most of the public races are GT3 with U or rating set to off. If I create a C rated race (even with GT3) it is rare that anyone ever joins.

Hello,

I've had this game for some time now, but I haven't been able to drive much and even less in online.

However, I took part into few races yesterday which I was able to filter for complete newbie "U1500". As offline I've only driven some slower sport cars, vintage cars and reasonable slow road cars. In career mode I just finished odd feeling go karting championships.

So in online I will find myself in middle of difficulties when I'm granted with some LeMans LPM1,2,3,4 or GT glass weapon. Though I've been struggling on races, my all race events have been clean green. Having one victory and few podiums.

But this also does raise a tiny question. Am I suppose to race much more to have any change for my Competitive Racing License?
It shows stats of all online starts, finish, podiums and wins, but rank is still U1500 and Recent CRL History field is clean like fresh A4 sheet.

How I am suppose to develope my ranking?

Licence system is working fine imo. No problems so far, other that I'm stuck at A for a long time now, although I can see it should be very hard to reach S, so S has a meaning, separating the most safe drivers from the rest in a hardcore sense.

The problem is the points system when you see a lot of people leaving. (seriously, don't they know they lose 50 points for doing that?). The more people leaving, the less points you are awarded in the end regardless a podium position, even the first.

I'd noticed that I was stuck in around 20-25% of A. But since the update, I've gone towards 30-40%.

As quite new online player, how you turn others microphone off ? All of them for once!
I can individually mute them, but I need button to mute everybody.

EDIT: Add topic of comment.

How to stop annoying microphone chats by online players in Project Cars 2?

Good news! Well...some of you knew it already.

Well, the trick works at least for PS4 version of game. Go at PS4 menu and seek for icon of headset and go make private party chat in there. Add some random friend of yours (works best if he/she doesn't chat to you via own headset). This party chat overrides game microphone chats and you won't hear a thing they talk! Credits to random source I found from google!

You don’t need to add a friend. Just create the party :)
