Confused on the new "Expert" seasonal event

I like my E92 M3.

It looks like a pig but I can do 1:27 a lap consistently.

From my outside experience, this is actually a very competitive car on autocross and tracks. I have seen many of these running fast laps on different autocross and tracks in person.

A lot of my students in the BMWCCA have this car and it's very fast and great handling on track.

Glad that helped. Since my earlier post, I've been trying more cars in this Seasonal.

Best so far is the Toyota FT1, even better than the Cobra. With the FT1 even I could get multiple laps below 1:30. (I still prefer the Cobra for nostalgic reasons and because it's an open car)

When using the FT1, the game put me up against the AC 427 which was far tougher competition than I'd met before. So I tried it, and it's quick too. A little harder to drive, and it's a standard with the roof up, so not quite as appealing.

Other cars which worked well for me were a number of American Muscle Cars from yesteryear. I suspect all or most of them are good choices.

Lighter, less powerful cars did NOT work for me. Like the Caterham Seven. Hopeless. Likewise BMW Z8.

There's a pattern here!

EDIT note. Added the word NOT just above. Sorry for any confusion

yeah did notes the american cars seemed good for expert seasonal, as i tried the viper and mustang just to compare with the cobra and i hit a low 1:30/31's with both as well. i could just about hit a 1:33/34 with my Genesis

I tried this event first in the m3 gtr, no problem. Then I switched to the Genesis, the car was your problem, for.a given pp the m3 csl or m3 gtr are multiple seconds quicker.

Then why did you start this thread? Gt5&6 have always had AI cars above the pp limit.

at the time of me starting this topic, i didn't know it was the car, as i thought it as my driving BUT with help from GBO Possum with tips on what cars to use, it was then realised it was the car. So by the time you replied with that comment, it was obvious it was the car.

Sorry for trying to help then.

I don't think @SVPSkins meant to be rude, but he sure could have chosen a better line than "stated the obvious" which was a little blunt IMHO. It jarred when I read it. I'll avoid taking offense in this case.

you mean she hehehe =) but texted can be taken the wrong way. i didn't mean it in any rude or off way. sorry if you felt like it was, I am known to be blunt but i could of worded it better but thank you for trying to help =)

Lexus LAF Fast Laps of 0:57. In P1 Nissan GT B.E. In P2 Lexus LFA Nurburgring Package. In P3 Cizeta V16. Winning Margin For The Lexus LAF Nurburgring 00.187 Over The Nissan.

The Lexus LAF Was Super To Drive!!! Cockpit View. Clean Race. No Tune. No Aids. Parts.

2. @et_ , we definitely have a different view of "average" player. I would consider such a player to be between 10000-30000 place on TT. If you consider about 80000 take part. I won with Honda S2000 at 427 PP stock SS , barely, at 8:21 with California rabbit, I usually come around 100-200 in TT's .
...haha. For any given Seasonal event, about 50% of the time, I'm in the top 20k, 25% of the time, in the top 10k, and the other 25% in the top 5k.

Yeah; I think the GTPlanet crowd has a different view of what "average" is. ;)

Lol your stat is like mine haha.

I believe the seasonal has about 80k to 100k total participants.
Top 100: Alien
Top 500: Super Human
Top 1000: Excellent driver
Top 5000: Good driver
Top 20000: Average driver
Top 40000: Below average driver
Top 60000: Slow Driver
Beyond 60000: noobs

Based on my chart above, I think most of the GTP members on this forum are average drivers or above with few exceptions.

I fluctuate between "Super Human" and "Good Driver" all the time.

I guess I'm just weird. :dunce:

You are excellent then :D I fluctuate between Good Driver to Below Average Drive and I guess in general, that makes me an average driver :D

Same here, so I must be weird too...:sly:

In my case the fluctuation depends on how much I like the seasonal. Sometimes I don't really care (few laps just to gold it), sometimes I get really motivated ...
My best result (only once I'm afraid) was right in the middle between Alien and Superhuman
