Top 32 - Well done. Rack attack, Mav and others, you killed it!!! Brilliant. I am so happy to make it, along with my brother JoeyFast who dropped a monster 0 out of nowhere!!!

I guess it's a fortunate thing now to have the luxury of being disappointed with my time! Don't get me wrong, I am happy with it, but literally did 25 laps where I was ahead of my .176 ghost by 1 to 2 car lengths going under the bridge. I just couldn't finish the lap off to nail the 30.9 or low 31.0! I made the switch to active steering yesterday and just couldn't improve, I think that was a bad idea since I had to relearn the car again. Oh well, still, I am so stoked to achieve my goal after last years debacle and I look forward to meeting you guys at the Finals. Again, well done. A spread of a little over 3 tenths over the top 32 - sick nasty.

I'll be fighting on behalf of my GTP brethren - you know who you are. :)

Cheers,

Nick

You said you were going to make it this year, no matter what it took, and you did it. I even remember when you put 2012 into your sig, congratulations man, you made it. Things will be much more fun since you made it this time around, you will have your brother with you, just like Hunk will have Scooty this year and wouldn't have been able to share it with him if he made it last year.👍

You too man. I'm with you on the time too. I had so many laps that would have been in the .0's, but that second to last turn was my freaking kryptonite. But I know I gave it my best, and I'm in the National Finals, so I'm one happy you-know-what. :sly:

I feel so much for you Forced! Man, it's been amazing seeing you tackle it this year with how it went last time, we always knew you had it in you, super congratulations, can't wait to shake your hand. So many drivers that've run in PURE racing series are gonna be there, it's awesome!

And I have Redreevos to meet up with and the GTRRL guys kingbest and Dragon who I've all had a lot of fun racing with and getting to know.

Especially Reese (Redreevos) he's like a mentor to meet. We've hung out before when he came out here to Vegas but getting to compete along side him in his hometown of all places will just be too awesome. Getting to meet my long time racing league series collaborator and friend Jason (R1600Turbo) will be just amazing as well. Can't wait!

Oh yeah, and the racing too xD

That corner was my kyptonite too, thats probably why are times were near identical the whole two weeks.

That corner is everyones kryptonite probably because its the least practiced corner in the lap. You practice the last turn everytime you restart, and you practice the majority of the rest everytime you make a lap. However if you keep hitting cones before you get to the end of the lap you never even see that turn. Then when your on a fast lap it comes up and you somewhat dont know what to do because you rarely get that far without a restart. At least thats how it was for me lol

I never really had problems in the chicanes or the final corner, I could hit those fairly consistently, but whether the lap was going to be good or not always came down to that turn.

I nearly lol'ed when I saw his time, I not exactly shocked that you both are going though.

Good luck, GTP will be well represented with all you guys going.

I'm happy for myself as well, with so many of the top guys running off to GTA, it should make some of the series around here easier to keep pace in .

My problem corner was the second to last, the 'v-curve' turn 9.

I'd only get that one right 1 time out of 10 it seemed.

I would nail it every time i was a touch behind, but if i was ahead of the ghost i would over drive the corner every dang time. Hope there is no race with the 370z at Twin Ring Motegi lol. I dont want to run any more laps there with that car ever again

👍 Every freaking time I was behind the car would rotate perfectly, but anytime I was ahead... NO ROTATION FOR YOU!

Although I didn't make the cut, nor did I expect to, I learned alot from my first try at this and hopefully next time I will be right there in the middle of the fight. At this time, I would like to send out congrats to everyone who made it and wish you the best in your next endeaver. Also, I would like to send out a sincere thank you to everyone that has helped me during this and over my time in playing the game in general. I finished with a time of 1:33.006. Not bad for a rookie and someone who only started playing seriously a few months after the game came out. Anyways, it has been a blast and a honor competing with you guys. Until next time fellas....

Congrats to all you guys who made it, Proud to say I've raced several of the guys in the top 32 and even have some on my friends list. Hoping one of you guys from GTP make it all the way. :gtpflag:

Congratulations to the top 32 US finalists! You will now embark on an awesome journey, which for one of you will be beyond your wildest dreams. I can't wait to see how this year's competition goes down! It will be fun for me to watch from the sidelines, as the pressure last year kept me so focused on myself I'm sure I missed a lot of what went on.

I came home from Road America last night and fired up the PS3 today. I thought I had read that GTA 2012 ended at 11pm EST, but it turns out it was GMT. I had 30 minutes to get through rounds 7 and 8 and get to 8-5. I ended up having 15 minutes with 8-5 and didn't know Motegi well. Needless to say my time isn't spectacular. :) I spent another hour on it and got down to a 1:31.6, I can definitely see a .4 in there with a bit more time but a 31 flat seems pretty incredible and must have taken a ton of effort. Well done guys!

Taking a break now, partly because my throttle pedal no longer releases fully. Thanks for the invite though! Maybe I'll join some races in the next week or two if y'all will have me. :)

I just wanna say that I'm amazed that I made it this year, and congrats to this years top 32! Looking forward to meeting and racing with you guys in the upcoming weeks. So excited xD

congratz to the finalists. very tough competition.
i only barely managed to get in the 131(.986) range.165th usa

again, congratz to everybody, job well done. look forward to seeing the progression this year.

cheers

Congrats to the top 32, incredibly competitive field this year. Yesterday was tough, I was consistently on pace for a 31.0 and consistently lost two tenths in the last two corners. Very frustrating to say the least!

Next time I'm going to give myself more than 4 days to do the last challenge. I definitely underestimated the field to my detriment.

Good luck to the finalists, I'm excited to see the Silverstone round - tons of talent in the top 32!

I want to say congrats to all of the top 32! I hope all of you have the experience of a lifetime. All I can say is enjoy it, and be yourself. Don't let the pressure get to you. While practicing in the next few weeks do it with as many distractions as possible. Have your wife/gf chew your ear off and so forth, as you will have the similar distractions. Like having a camera guy fall in your line of site while going into a corner.

Practice your 1 lap qualifying runs, and practice your starts.

Can I bring my own bungee cord? I took the cord off my pedals to practice and it felt like I was pressing down on thin air.

Yeah. Yer pinky toe has enough weight to take the pedal through the floor. Dunno how you fast folks manage brake levels without tension augmentation. Good thing real cars aren't like that.

yep, going to get me a DFGT very soon because the pedals are the only thing that worry me. I played on a friends DFGT once, and OMG, the pedals were shockingly easy. gravity does most of the work for you.

I used my G27 for all of GT Academy, and when a pulled out my DFGT to practice with i could have sworn that my brake pedal was broken. I totally forgot how little resistance it had.
