Not that it's of any relevance to the USA, but over here there doesn't appear to be an awful lot of difference between our three main parties at the moment.

Even our moderate socialist (er, well sort of) government is busy trying to privatise everything......

Oh the pain I feel trying to hold back my smart aleck response.

Aw go on, let rip!

At least we managed to get our election over with in a reasonable amount of time!

Well, Ok.

I'm just surprised that a socialist gov would take time away from there cannabis long enough to consider that states may not always have the answer.

Aint I charming?

Support us? Hmmm. on what issues?

Lately, everything. Daschle's just way too far left for me, and I really can't see the Democrats gaining any high office for a long time. We will lose the Senate majority, we won't be US pres until 2008 maybe...and the conservatives are playing everything correctly. i still can't see supporting you guys on abortion and stem cell research, though.

M5Power, I think that you need to clarify what you mean by playing everything correctly. Is that in the sense that the decisions are more agreeable to you or that the political strategy is more impressive. And I do not think that a defeatist attitude should judge your affilliation. I think you should consider sticking with your party unless you truly are having a change in philosophy.

Well - the 'Under God' thing is something I completely agree with the conservatives on (it should be allowed).

'Defeatist' isn't the word, but I haven't been impressed by a Democrat since Bill Clinton (who, though he had his share of scandals is is a better president than W). I am somewhat impressed by Massachusetts Senator John Kerry, who's a Democrat, and I'd love it if he ran for President.

I'm still open to any 'change in philosophy.' I will never change my view on abortion or stem cell research, but I've always been against Social Security, and the politicians and the media help shape any other views I get - but it's the Republicans making it sound more fair. (Have I already mentioned I hate Tom Daschle? That oughta say it all, since he's the highest-ranking Democrat right now).

The more you answer yes to, the more conservative you are

Do you prefer limited government?

Do you prefer free-market capitalism to socialism?

Do you distrust collectivist philosophies?

Do you sometimes prefer action to diplomacy?

Would you rather destroy threats than contain them?

Do you believe in the right to own and use a gun within reason?

Are you more pragmatic than Idealist?

Do you believe strongly in tradition?

Do you have a preference for classical art in a clean and somewhat ordered style to that of abstract abandonment.

Do you prefer a chair of regal elegance to a bean bag cushion?

Do you favor high military spending?

Are you not very pacifistic?

Do you prefer that you and others succeed because of their own worth based on their actions than to lessen others of higher standing in order to aid the lower class?

Do you hate political correctness?

Is family strength more important than personal indulgence and self-exploration?
