Hodge, tracks go into Steam/Steam Apps/ Common/Assetto Corsa/Content/Tracks. Same for the cars but obviously the car folder after content. Once you have found them then copy them and put them on your desktop, saves a lot of faffing about!

The problem with that is, not all the mods unzip to a folder with the car name or track name. Some of them unzip with a longer path starting at "assetto corsa" or "content" or maybe other variations. If that's the case I usually keep clicking on the folders until I get to the car or track name and then copy/paste that into the car or track folders.

Never had a problem Johnny. Copied the folders, made a shortcut onto desktop, every track/car
I have downloaded has been cut and pasted straight into the folders on my desktop. They are only shortcuts after all. Saves clicking through the various folders, try it. It works. So, I have just d,loaded latest version of Donington, deleted original from Track folder via Desktop, cut and pasted new one straight in. Never failed. Many ways to skin a cat as they say! For me it's the easiest and quickest way, after all, all you're doing is cutting and pasting a folder. All tracks and all cars go in their respective folders, can't see a problem Johnny. Download a car mod, copy car folder and paste straight into Car folder! Obviously different for other mods but Idont see a problem, they can't go anywhere else.

That's not what JP was getting at. With some mods it unzips a folder and you just drop that folder into the relative content folder and you're done. With other mods it unzips a folder and within that folder are other folders and you have to click through those folders until you find the one with the actual content. If you were to just drop the first folder in your content folder it wouldn't work. I've had this happen many, many times. Now I make it a point to open each folder to see if the mod content is there or if it's in a folder within a folder.

I agree, but the Readme notes normally explain what is required, I was referring to Tracks and Cars in general, which are normally pretty straight forward. With the Cars then yes on occasion you have to click through to get the folder but would have thought that common sense would prevail!

For someone that's new to this, it's not common sense at all. Especially when the response is generally something vague like "just paste it in your root folder", which implies the guy already knows what the root folder is and where it's located. And even then, that's not correct because you have to paste it into a folder that's in another folder that's in your root folder. And, for example, when I've installed 6 or 8 mod cars/track by following a certain process, and then suddenly one doesn't work even though I followed the same process, then it can get confusing and frustrating. I've also not seen many Readme notes in mods, and most of the ones I have seen aren't very clear to someone who isn't a PC expert. I've had many mod cars and tracks that didn't work at first and I had to investigate why not, some eventually worked, some never have. Not straight forward at all, at least not for everyone.

This has been one of my biggest frustrations with PC gaming, finding help or answers to questions. It seems like there's a large group of people that have been doing it so long that all this stuff is second nature to them, and then another group that are complete noobs and don't know how to do any of this stuff and are maybe a bit nervous to try out of fear of jacking something up. And when a noob asks a question, quite often the response from the experienced players presume that the noob already knows a lot of this stuff (when they don't) which just results in more questions and confusion.

I don't understand the confusion, one Car folder, one Track folder, that's all I was on about, you can follow the file path, or take a shortcut. After all, the car and track mods can't go anywhere else. How you get to them is up to you. Nothing complicated about it, was trying to help someone save time? I gave him the file path for the root Folder because of the Natural Graphics mod should he want to use it, I love it personally. And I am relatively new to PC gaming, maybe six months max.

I know, and that's a different topic than what @Johnnypenso was referring to which is all I was trying to clarify. He wasn't talking about what folders the mods go into, he was talking about which mod folders you add to the root AC folder which isn't always the first folder you encounter after you unzip. This has caused confusion in the past and he was just trying to clarify, as was I. 👍

I have the file path written down so easy to access root folders & using WinRAR was a simple method for a noob with PC's. Ok, did a race & wanted to watch replay however it show just part of it, about 3 minutes max. Is there a setting to allow all of said race to watch on replay?

You need to change the in game settings to increase the Mb replay usage under the general tab, I replay in Ultra, rather good! Love this sim.

Is Hilltop a modded track? I particularly enjoy the M3 as it reminds me of a tarmac spec rally car. Disabling the drivers arms/wheel & adjust FOC for that incar immersion up the hill climb is just magic. Would love to see some time of mods creating tarmac rally stages. Yes there is RBR for all that but love the graphics in AC.

A good tip I learned from @Johnnypenso is to create a folder on your desktop called "Mods", within that folder make other folders to keep things organized. I have a folder for AC and within that folder is a folder for Apps, one for Mods, one for Cars, one for Tracks, one for Audio, one for Skins, and one for Originals, and when I download a mod I save it into the appropriate folder (Originals is for saving the original AC files so you can restore to default if necessary). Then copy the mod from within that folder into the appropriate AC folder. This helps you keep track of/organize what mods you have and gives you back up copies if you need to restore AC to default or anything like that.

There are a few mod rally-type tracks and also lots of hill-climb tracks. Lake Louise, Pike's Peak, and Transfagarasan are must have's. 👍
