Copenhagen-Based Clothing Brand Bareen Announces Collaboration with Gran Turismo

The comparison has nothing to do with it, much as you would like to deflect focus to that.
It's literally the point of the sentence, that's why I used a comparative and an adverb - and that's why you edited them out and then scare-quoted the wrong word, to pretend that they weren't there so you could attack something that wasn't written.

Lying about other people to try make them look bad is bizarre - especially when you're doing it in the same place as what they actually said is already recorded. Doing it again is not just bizarre, it's rude, boorish, and unwelcome.

But then so is nitpicking sentencs stucture. If that is your excuse for a rebuttal, then the point is dead in the water.
User sees article.
User makes very obvious and very dishonest edit of said article
User accuses author of being "privileged."
User gets called out by said author out for their very obvious and very dishonest edit.
User accuses author of ""nitpicking sentence structure" in reference to their very obvious and very dishonest edit.

I've been on this website for quite a while, and I gotta say, that's a new one.

Nice try. The comparison has nothing to do with it, much as you would like to deflect focus to that. Tell people who can't pay their medical bills or rent, or groceries, all more numerous every day. These are a BARGAIN compared to all the parasitic luxury trash, and I'm sure they'll rush right out and buy five of them. That kind of comparison is a just a logical fallacy to divert blame from the object itself.

But then so is nitpicking sentencs stucture. If that is your excuse for a rebuttal, then the point is dead in the water.
I would suggest you learn the difference between 'reasonable' and 'more reasonably priced'.
And also the spelling of 'sentence structure'.

I think that's great!
PD can generate additional revenue this way.
Especially with the World Series, but certainly also because of the many active players, it's lucrative for partners to invest.

And to be honest, there are no disadvantages for us as players. Then there's just a Bareen or Bvlgari VGT, an entry in Brand Central or the logo on certain in-game banners, shirts or so on.

But there are many advantages! PD is interested in driving the game forward so that they can continue to be lucrative for sponsors.

I don't see this being reinvested in GT at all.

Just mind boggling to be honest. A racing game collaborating with a clothing company. I'm sure that's every gamer's dream 😂 If they'd announced a collaboration with a racing sponsor, a car manufacturer or something similar I could understand.

What's going to be next? Collaboration with Walls? Walkers crisps??

Did you forget about Dior?

And the Dior Mangusta(Dangusta) just happens to be in the LCD.

2024 has been very underwhelming so far for GT7, in terms of updates.

Its been a slow start of 2024 With the updates, we got evo lx through witch is great,
I could see it pick up to get better as the year goes on, march update is more likely a bigger one, and another big update by the time ps5 pro drops, between then i guees on smaller updates,

You say that like we’re already in July. The cars in the January update divided opinions quite strongly, but at least there were updates in both January and February. That’s a good start to the year when you consider the fact that the game was released in early 2022. I think the year (2024) is still too young to speak of a tendency regarding updates. I’m not even sure why it’s being discussed in this thread, as the clothing announcement has no bearing on GT7.

PD have done a lot of collabs with car manufacturers... and half the community hates it.

Bareen will most likely just be giving Sony money to use Gran Tursimo branding, both companies get a bit of publicity - mostly Bareen benefiting from brand exposure I'd imagine - but in any case, it's easy, low effort, income for Sony.

"it’s likely that the products will be more reasonably priced .... €24 ($26) for the socks to €147 ($161) for a fleece, and the company’s signature t-shirt coming in at €47 ($51)."

Andrew's world must be a wonderful and priviledged place where this considered 'reasonable'.
$51 for a T shirt is insane.

Uh, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Le Coq Sport, Lacoste, Elesse, all have signature T shirts over $51 and double that. That’s what these brands market as quality T shirts. There’s been a market for what many would deem expensive(relatively) for years.

The most expensive T shirts I own are carhartt pocket Ts, which iirc are $20/ea? And those last me several years as work shirts.

I have a couple shirts from 2008. Shirts I wear all the time with no holes. One is an NYPD Motorcycle Unit shirt my brother gave me from his time as a NYPD Highway 1 officer and another is a Batman shirt my wife bought me from Big W(Woolworth’s still exists in Australia).
I used to by Carhartt stuff for work back in my NYNEX days.

Thing is, from socks to a Hypercar, people are going to pay more for a brand name than a no name… and that’s regardless of quality.
However Klondike pointed out as a purchaser of the brand, has found the product to be good quality. So for that member it was money well spent.

So? Some t shirts cost 100's.

A lot of money to many, but not everyone.

Like many things in life. Huge price variation for items in a particular market, despite not being much difference in overall utility.

Why buy a car for 100k, when a 1k car gets yiu from a to b, for example.

Limited editions of course.

While I could afford it I am done with limited edition runs. It's cancer and only feeds scalpers.

Also I'm having a way to happy life to wear that stuff, it would take to much effort to act depressed and sad to get the look right.
"Hey, look at me I'm moodier than a teenage emo loner kid. Buy this shirt and look like me, a real d-bag!"

Gran Turismo only exists because it benefits Sony's bottom line.

Be it the game, the movie, or commercial and branding tie-ins. Every time you see an ad or collaboration - that's someone investing in the franchise and increasing awareness.

The irony is top level motor racing wouldn't exist without these very collaborations. Rothmans Porsche, Silk Cut Jaguar, Martini Lancia, Benneton, Alpha Tauri, Red Bull - so ingrained are they in the sport we don't even associate them as sponsors.

No Gran Turismo collaboration has negatively affected players - at worst you could say a 5 minute feature on Dior at the GTWS wasn't to your liking. Then again would we even have these elaborate events if they weren't subsidised? They aren't (yet) pulling in the type of numbers that justify such expenditure from Sony alone.

Even if you put commercial interests aside, isn't it cool to have Gran Turismo clothing merchandise? It seems to be one of the most requested items whenever someone shows up on screen with GT branded clothing.
