I'm in for next week, had a blast last night.

After crashing down to last place at the first corner I worked my way through the field into 2nd then gambled on an early stop at the end of lap 13.

Paid off at first and got the lead then a 10 lap, bumper to bumper, door to door battle with jamesy followed.

The early pit stop bit me in the ass on the last lap as my tyres were well and truely humped, ran wide on the very last bend and ended up loosing out to jamesy by just 0.072 seconds.

Let's hope the rest of the seasons just as close.

I made that gamble to mate, by pitting at the end of lap 12. I was hoping that as the fuel got lower, so would tyre wear, but it wasnt to be. My tyres were so worn by lap 27, I was loosing 2 seconds per lap. Will know for next time to leave my pit until later.

You'll be back I'm sure! Shame you're missing next week - a new NPS track - still if your back for round 3 its the Evora's turn! :)

I'll be back for sure..... When I finally get a week when I'm not so frickin busy...! Will probably download that new circuit anyway - always curious to see what new masterpiece you've created, Omnius ;)

News just in!!!

Due to the popularity of Monza, (falling on the same weekend as The Sunday Cup) and because it's such a good circuit!!! :sly: ...a 5 season deal has been struck to make it the official Trident GT Championship opening circuit 👍 👍 👍

Now we'll know what to expect at the start of each season regardless of car requirements :)

I like it, kind of fallen in love with Monza over the last few weeks, just a shame I have had to postpone tonights Sunday Cup to next week due to the maintenance. This means that next weekend will be a triple bill of racing, with CORE on Friday, MINI MADNESS on Saturday and SUNDAY CUP. Cant wait.

Well thats the good thing about the track, we've all had that much racing around it, I'm the same as you, its become my track of choice if I want a quick test of a car I'm setting up because I feel I know every little bit on that circuit now, its like I'm ready for each corner, and know what I need to do to get round them the fastest!

I wonder how many of us end up here come Friday night? I guess it's never been said any better that the exit of a corner is the most important!!!

Better get intouch with Air Traffic Control at Newcastle Airport

Best time so far is 1:11.8 and as for tips, softer suspension is a must!

1:11.1xxx using the same set up that I used at Monza.

:) oooooh! Lets hope its this close across the board! I'm suprised you're using the same setup, I had to soften my suspension for a couple of the corners, too much rebound under braking

...this is where jamesy sticks his time up of 4 seconds faster

Yeah, that last turn is a killer, and there are another couple that I need to work on, so a bit of softening may help me trim a bit more off, but I dont think I can get a BOGRAT 4 seconds off:lol:

What I like about the last turn is, you can almost 'straight line' it, start out wide for the angle then get in close to the fence and take a bit grass with you, that way if you do get air between the rubber and the tarmac, at least you'll be pointing in the correct direction

Another favourite part is the 'dip' where you think the track is going right but you can jump the dip and keep left :dopey:

The 'dip' did catch me out for the first few laps, and I havnt quite managed to get the last turn without either hitting the left hand fence coming out of it, or taking too much grass and slowing right down.

Once i managed to get that last turn right i was able to shave .8secs off my previous best. I'm sticking to the "traction" choice in that corner, taking it at about 90kph with a little hop but being able to accelerate early and having about the same speed at the exit compared to the high flying line. Consistently lapping in the 1:11.xxx range as well.

The race is going to be interesting with damage. That last turn will cause lots of commotion, especially since you can't see somebody hanging in the fence while entering the corner full speed, I noticed that while following my ghost. Once you're in the air, dodging is gonna be rough.

You're not wrong there!

I think come the race, we'll all be going for more grip, less air in the early stages, too much at stake with the constant 1:11's (if everyone has the same time, still interested to see what the bograt posts :sly: )

Damage is damage, but at least we only run 'light' so it won't be the end of the world :) ...quick tip, set the mini map to max zoom, can help for quick road positioning 👍

you will be glad to know that i love the new track (it took me 5 laps to get the line right )

TIME TO BEAT...> 1:09.6xx :)

now i need to go and get a set-up:sly: ,i think some suspension jigging is needed ( probably need to raise it a little)

Warm day up here in Northumberland, lets hope it will be like this come Friday, a nice dry track for sticky rubber!

It's not forecast for rain so no need to panic! :)

I knew you'd be up there keeping the bograt in his place :sly:
