For anyone with an itch to drive, and a CORE WEC license, I'm sure the HDR Corvette will need a driver for the race tomorrow.

It was originally supposed to be Adam or myself but I'm not 100% right now and he has to be up in the commentary box for tomorrow. We still haven't heard from Tati so I'm taking the liberty in trying to fill the gap.

There are no team colors, just arrive, drive, and hopefully do well. Thanks.
I can't commit to driving the HDR ZR1 today and Adam is in the commentary box from what I've heard so @eDirtyTati will need a reserve driver for today.

Wow wow wow, what a race! Could write one of my essay race reports about it but I won't. Just take my word for it, that was intense all through the 3 hours! (or don't take my word for it and watch the stream)

Good race.

Had no top speed so couldn't really defend. Made a good call on the first burst of rain and put the wets straight on but it started drying as soon as I put them on and I thought it was over but then it started raining hard and it came back to me giving me a large lead. Kept it on the track and pulled away gradually and changed to slicks a lap late to make sure I don't slide off when I go offline. Found a rhythm and set FL but then Nik took it off me and I had 1 more chance but fortbo was going so slow and blocked my first full lap and my 1st sector on the next lap was poor and I ended up missing out on the extra point by 0.022.

Decided to have 1 more go since I had a lead but as I exited the pits it started raining. Me & Niko pitted for tyres but then it started drying out as I entered so I changed to slicks for that stop and it seemed to have paid off.

Started raining again at the end of that lap and put wets on which was the right call and came close to lapping Ayrton twice at the end.

Still annoyed not to get that extra point.

A dreadful second. Felt like last. From nearly running into the back of Nin at the first turn/lap. (If anyone ever misses their breaking point don't just stand on the breaks and hope you get stopped. Turn out of it and avoid the damage) To not having a clue how the weather works. Thanks Nin I couldn't work out how I spun on the inside of you. I thought I touched the grass or something. The wet counter was at zero and I thought I was safe. I still race with GT5 wet track dynamics mind set, this isn't the same. I learnt a bit at Silverstone now I've learnt a bit more.

For the guys who make GT6. It would be better that the wet counter during the race is track surface and not the rain falling. The track gets wet to quickly and dries to quickly.

It hurt to watch, we were in such a good position too. What's done is done and all we can do now is learn from this and do one better at the Nurburgring. Thanks for hanging in there for the whole three hours, I know some people would've just called it.

Shame to bow out of WEC without a room victory this season, would have had that safely but the game botched my stop (selected wets and only 20L - gave me slicks and full fuel) which was gutting as I timed it perfectly to change tyres. That meant I had to run around on slicks at 100% which destroyed my race. Car felt horrid in the wet after that so I retired it. You could say that it was silly to do so as everyone in GTE had massive issues which would have put me back up there straight away but I just wasn't feeling it.

I guess I can be happy that I managed to one up myself on last season by taking all 3 cars ahead of me into turn 1 this time, think that demonstrates my abilities perfectly... Scrapper to the end. I've have good fun in the WEC this season in the McLaren despite not having too many good finishes. I look forward to seeing some of you guys in the N24 as that is now my focus

Yeah sorry about that Redbull. I think I need more wheel to wheel racing experience. I only experience dirty air every two weeks during the race. Would be good to get in some short fun races, to keep sharp.

I wouldn't have quit, i was having to much fun. It was crazy racing in the spray. Just a wall of white and no way to know if the car in front is slowing. I kept thinking for Schumacher running into the back of DC, haha. Oh and not to forget the wall of black when in clean air in the rain, haha.

Ah there's nothing to be sorry about now, could've just as easily been me. Glad to know at least you were having fun with the rain. 👍 If you need more wheel-to-wheel experience maybe try some touring car racing when you have time?

Are you out for the season then? Sad to hear it, had a lot of nice fights with that Mclaren and today could've been another one. With my incredibly unlucky decisions I would probably have lost though so I'm pretty happy you left now. ^^

Yeah I have to go back to uni soon, plus I have to run the journos and run M4R.

I just didn't feel comfortable out there today, unprepared and didn't want to be a danger out there either... Would have been fun to have one last fight, in the dry I saw you giving it everything to close the gap I got early on

Oh I just meant some short races around the track the race is at. I wouldn't have the time for another championship, haha.

Oh don't you worry, I'll be back again next season though might think about a run in a prototype again. It was a good fight bud and looking forward till you can join in with the N24 stuff
I don't think I will be apart of any N24 stuff. Would love to but..........
Hope to see you on track soon.

Yeah the weather change must have been set a bit too high for this race.

When you spun off on my inside was because it was still wet offline as it had tried out just a few seconds before. I'd just switched to wets since it started raining bad earlier so I had no grip when it dried out compared to the cars on slicks and I move to the middle to try and defend and thought I'd lost the position but then saw you spinning out when I looked back and then it started raining and came back to me.

That's understandable, uni life can be quite a time suck.

Yeah I pushed my hardest to catch you but I wasn't consistent enough in the beginning so it wasn't happening. Not enough practise, but with you out of the race it worked out pretty well anyway. :P

Yeah, I think a practice session with the weather set to change so that I can practice the different grip levels might be a good idea. Oh and to practice where the grip isn't as well, haha. It was a real bummer as it meant there was no close racing. Still in a bad mood about it all. If the next race was next week I would quit but I'm sure that by then I will have gotten over it. I guess if I don't make the same mistakes twice I'll be doing ok.

Dam thought that writing that last bit would have made me feel better but no. I still want to be the nutter in the tower with the gun. "Come and get me coppers"!!!!!!!!!!.

The sound of a gun being loaded and a man sobbing.

I didn't actually try the car in the wet for this race but I had a good idea of how it handled since it was wet at Silverstone but I felt much better in the wet yesterday than at Silverstone.

I knew that if a massive downpour came there was no point putting inters on because you'd have to come in again the following lap which is what happened at Silverstone where ayrton stayed out on slicks an extra lap so I was catching him but we both pitted for wets on that lap and I was behind him instead of being in front of him when I pitted for inters so learned from that and decided if any downpour came I would put wets on straight away.

A thing I noticed during the race. It was a 100% on the counter and when the counter fell down to 50% or something (within half a lap) the grip changed? Surly this isn't right as in real life if a track is 100% wet and the rain slackens in intensity but still raining, the grip level won't change in such a short pace of time, (half a lap). It will still be 100% wet.

Things like that are wrong with the wet but the handling and no grip are good.

Yeah GT5 seems more realistic, there it took some time to actually dry out completely. Maybe 2-4 laps on a longer circuit.

Yes but the two games have elements that where both good and bad. In GT5 there wasn't any dry/wet line when the counter was at zero. (The thing that caused me to spin last night.) That's a good feature. In GT6 it's dries out and gets wet far too quickly. A bad feature. At the end of that race I didn't know what tyer to put on. I'm not sure but in the last few laps I pitted at least 4 times. "Oh it's raining. If I stay out by the time I come round again it will be close to 100% come in now. On no it's drying again, come in again", haha.

Anyway, it's the same for everyone and something for me to learn. I didn't spin because it was getting to wet to fast. I spun because it was wet off line. Something I hadn't encountered before. That won't happen again as a bit of the old practice will sort that out.

Oh to the guys that make GT6. The wet counter should be track surface and there should be another rain intensity counter. Much like the weather at a Gran Prix. The rain falling has a 1 to 5 intensity given to it. "The rain falling now will have an intensity of 3". It could change as the weather changes. Make it happen as I'm just the ideas man.

I find judging the rain easy, just count how fast the percentage indicator is rising in seconds, then estimate how long it'll take you to get back to the pits and then you will work out which tyres to be on. If my pitstop hadn't been glitched I would have judged it perfectly
