Yes you do see that in real life it's a direct coloration to a drive through penalty, and in all honesty and this goes to everyone, I'm not forcing anyone to race, the rules were the same from day one and you all willingly signed up.... I really don't see why I should have to fight this constantly if you don't like it then that's fine, no hard feelings... And the other thing is no one really seems to appreciate how much time and effort I put into this whole thing and yet all I get is moaning and complaining so forgive me if I really don't give a **** about people moaning all the time... It's not like I don't listen to people and there will be a complete overhaul of the rules and regs this weekend (or next weekend) but these things take time and the rules and regulations stood through lemans, like I said to everyone, and I even made pretty little pictures telling everyone where you would get 30 secs if you went there, so complaining about it is just the most stupid idea possible??

I wouldn't call people's valid complaints moaning. Why 30 seconds for a white line cut?

I just said...

"It's in the rules".

Yes, but what is the reasoning behind it. In a 3 hour event, no 6 hours with both races combined why penalise someone 30 seconds for a wheel on a white line, not even over it. ON it. Perhaps 5/10 seconds sure, especially for persistent violations, but make the punishment fit the crime surely?

I know this is a tad bit inappropriate at this time but...

Anyway I believe the issue is people being penalized for lines in the chicane correct? Now if it was me in the same boat I would award penalties for pit lines only, the issue isn't really the time penalty given as these rules have been here for over a season now and people haven't complained about them only until very recently, however if other lines in the pit lane count towards that penalty it doesn't make any sense. I mean at Le Mans you see cars pushing to the limit in the pit lane and in some instances even going outside the lines though errors (See Davidson 2010) and not getting pulled up for it even if it was a disadvantage.

If it was just pit merger lines that are being policed then this could solve all the issues we have. Penalties may not be applied in special circumstances e.g a car has to take avoiding action or has major damage. This would generally make people a lot more happier because now I have to take care every time I pit because of this even though I'm doing exactly what I'm supposed to do which which is not touch the pit entry line which is how it should be done. It's a bit like driving with cargo onboard, you have to take it really easy to avoid causing damage.

I don't want to see people falling out because of this because all in all you are all great drivers and know to race fairly and cleanly and what matters is the racing and not some line. We all want to enjoy ourselves.

I think as someone who gets routinely penalised for a variety of incidents, I more than anyone else should be constantly fuming at the stewards, but I don't, as memto will tell you I probably do have a bit of a bitch and a moan some times, but then I understand why something was deemed to be my fault, try and learn from it and then get over it. Yes perhaps the rules are a bit of a grey area in some cases, but that's no reason to become a completely unreasonable petulant child and throw your tools out the pram, the rules apply to everyone.

IMO I think a grid penalty for next race would be more appropriate.

Avoidable contact is 60 sec, right? If you think about it, touching a white line twice isn't as bad as causing someone to have to pit, or even ruining someone's race. Yet the penalty is the same.

Anyway, looking forward to Silverstone, one of my favorite tracks:D

I find it disturbing that there is more posts about what is wrong with the series recently as opposed to what is right with the series.
  • We have good drivers
  • The race dates are flexible
  • It is a team bases series that gives added "spice"
  • The track pick is quite diverse an does not favour any car
  • The organisation is good
  • It is regulated
  • There is censure for bad track behaviour that makes racing better for everyone
  • The cars are good to drive and not just a thrash fest
  • I have met great people
  • There are fast drivers to compete with and as a result my race craft has improved considerably
  • Etc. etc.
Although there are aspects of the regulations that some, including me, might not agree on, it is the same for everyone. Hopefully there will be opportunity for competitor consultation before the next series starts.

I can carry on but in summary - I will sign on for the series again given the knowledge I have about the series so far.

See you all on track soon. ;)

House Keeping:

Since there is the big gap between races over the summer, I have had time to bring to light the things I have been working on over the last few weeks

1. With the release of the Toyota LMP1, I can confirm that it will not be joining the WEC line up as it does not meet the regulations for this series.

2. Bathurst race will be replaced with the Redbull GP track for the final race.

3. The new rules and regulations for all CORE events are now published.

Please make sure that you read through them and understand them fully.

I need to confirm everyone that is still in the WEC and racing. So please can you complete the following and post it up.

GTP Name:
PSN Name:
Team: [If a reserve driver then put reserve, if you are reserve at the moment but would like a full time seat please specify]
Car:

The deadline for completing this is on the 6th July.

honestly are we really gonna race at redbull ring its kinda small and there aren't many turns I just see it being like another willow springs. As a fan of NASCAR my biggest problem is there are only two left turns :irked: this preposterous. :irked::D
