I'm 56 and got my 3rd shot this past December. What would be the correct amount of time to wait before getting the 4th shot?
From what I could tell and read it's after 4 months from the booster.
If you had it in December it would be sometime in April.

We're telling patients at least 4 months, however, we're also advising people to speak with their physicians to discuss any potential risks.

We're still trying to piece together what the time frame for immunocompromised people should be though. The CDC isn't exactly clear on that

My next regularly scheduled doctor's appointment is in early June. I'll ask then.

Have they also stated that people who are at risk (not necessarily immunocompromised) are also now eligible?

If you told me three years ago that people would just accept that global lockdowns would not only be the norm but accepted by many people I would have laughed at you. What a dystopian ******** this planet is right now.

I think a lot about a tweet I saw during the first lockdown in early 2020. It said something along the lines that "because some people won't wear their masks for three months, the rest of us are going to be wearing them for three years." It's tracking true so far.

I think it's going to be up to your doctor but where I work, we're pretty liberal with who can get the extra dose that's typically meant for immunocompromised. Basically, if you're healthcare provider says you should get it, we allow it. Also, anyone with any disease or who takes any drugs that could remotely affect the immune system, we allow too.

Are there any lockdowns anywhere at this point outside China? Lockdowns are pretty much universally rejected now and for a good reason. We have good mitigation strategies for COVID even if there's a significant part of the population that rejects them. But with vaccines, masks, ventilation, and readily available tests we can pretty much go on about our life.

Well China is heavily polluted so I'm a bit suprised that China didn't go into lockdown half a year earlier.

Japan is still not letting foreigners in yet. There are still countries where they are still considered locked down for foreigners but outside of country specific like City full lockdowns that I don't know.

I ****ing love this.

The "I'm just asking questions" qualifier when spouting off conspiratorial claptrap is ****ing ******** and it needs to be called out at every opportunity. The problem is it takes no effort to spew nonsense and it takes considerable effort to spot and properly debunk it, and while the effort to debunk nonsense is undertaken, even more nonsense is being spewed.

Social media in a nutshell and, for the most part, it's not even worth attempting to debunk it anymore. At some point, we just need to let Darwinism take over and let stupid people kill themselves by drinking bleach or whatever. Unfortunately, there's zero chance we're going to get through the pandemic via actual mitigation, so either we adapt to it or die off. Since reasonably intelligent people are adapting and the lowest common denominators in society are refusing to do anything, I know which group will likely survive.

Weirdly enough, I have noticed a considerable drop in complete and utter claptrap since Russia banned social media. Makes you wonder, doesn't it? I mean don't get me wrong, the amount of nonsense on the web is still several orders of magnitude higher than actual information, but I have noticed a reduction in it, especially on Twitter.

I was in Portugal for the past week, and it was honestly weird seeing nearly everyone wearing masks indoors, compared to here in Ireland where it's more like 20%, or around 5-10% when I was in London right before omicron was discovered.

Can confirm.

Even though we're seeing more and more people not caring about masks in private or familiar gatherings truth is, out of respect, people keep sticking to the rules and place their masks when in public, indoors places.

I just did my PCR test although little confused with it.
I don't have results yet but according to the Embassy I need an RT-PCR test which is a reverse transcribe PCR test or is that a real time PCR test or is that just a PCR test in general?

I looked at Seoul and through Delta say RT-PCR but the embassy said PCR.
So I don't know what is what.

I did ask the provider that did it if this was the one that is used for any and all travel and they said yes.

And now we have Omicron XE.

And now we have Omicron XE.
Pronounced Xi, presumably... except in China.
Is XE the one with all wheel drive?
Don't buy it, it's just the old Omicron model but with slightly better transmission.

Well, hopefully, we don't get the performance spec Omicron GT3 RS...or I guess if it's the XE, the performance variant would be the SV Project 8.

I've got an XE (Jaaaaaaag) 😉
Last week I also had XE (or maybe BA.2) (not Jaaaaaaag!)

So is next one XS or XLE?

Can't be worse than the Turbo model Porsche that's an EV!

In other news, UK has finally added 9 additional official symptoms for Covid today.

I'm writing to complain. I only had 7 of the 9 last week! Where is my sore throat and vomiting! I did get fever and coughing added for free though.

And light sensitivity which still isn't on the official list...

You can’t have a variant with Project in the name.

Are you trying to stir up the Q crazies?
