CRAP a'Corsa ClubPS4

Hey guys, just wanted to let ya'll know that my seat broke, therefore i won't be able to race for a while, i did try the challenge with my wheel clamped onto a table but the chair i was using keeps sliding backwards, my pedals keep moving back and forth and it's just not fun at all. I should be back soon i hope, but in the mean time here is a reference lap time even though the time is wrong, i was just testing how it would be, and it's prolly way too slow anyways.
:gtpflag::@::cheers:
Thanks and have fun, this does not mean i won't be active here though.
Need a daily dose of Hamster humor lol

Sorry to hear of your seat troubles @SpaceBreed. Hoping a resolution is found quickly.

Well done on the last 2 TT's gents. Brands times were very close.

Sorry to have missed out on the last few TT's. My daughter was sick, then I got sick and then I passed it to my wife. Thought about setting fire to the house to kill the virus that's been wreaking havoc on us. Coughing, snot and Kleenex. Good times.

Since I've driven the other 2 cars already, I guess I'll pick the Porsche 918 for this weeks TT.

Can someone explain the MGU-K recovery system on these cars to me? I mean, I understand what they do in principle. But, I'm confused on how its implemented. For example: the Porsche starts out with 60% MGU-K. Should I be raising that to 100% or down to zero? What happens with the cars reactions when lowered or raised?

Thanks for any advice/tips

Awwww sorry to hear that mate that your seat broke!! :( I have a basic setup like you tried after, and yes i often end up going backwards too, or my pedals go walkies.............

This is what i imagine happened:

 There's some more "Hammy humour" for you @SpaceBreed !!! I hope you get your seat fixed soon!! ;) And good time too for the TT!

@Boston77 no idea i'm afraid, if anyone else knows more about how the MGU-K please advise. :)

I'm not entirely sure, but I would imagine that the MGU-K recovery would affect braking performance! For example the higher it is the less braking performance you would have.

Like all things with tuning it's about balance of pros and cons, the MGU-K is harvesting energy back into the KERS system, so to gain the performance boost, there is to be a sacrifice somewhere else! I'm assuming that then is in the braking performance.

The idea then is to balance harvesting and deployment to best suit lap!

I could be wrong of course, or the game could be broken and it does nothing :)

My 3 day trip has become a 7 day trip so hope on Thursday get home, updated and maybe my season pass will work

Is it the same, the higher the number the less MGU-K is being used?

Thanks guys, i am busy with my build and hopefully will be done soon coz i can't stand not racing lol.
Still a bit to go but should be done soon

Tonight at 7:00 GMT we will be on Assetto to do at least 1 hour of online racing! Anyone is welcome to join, friend me or Hammy on PSN. We will shoot you a game alert at 7:00 tonight/ 1:00pm Central US.

Balls, I would join but I have to be on a plane to Hamburg....

Next time.

For those that have not seen, I'm trying to get something going on Sunday nights. If anyone is interested let me know in the thread linked in Sig below.

Enjoy

A little experiment with the MGU-K in the Porsche lead to some findings.
At Zero percent I run out of electrical capacity before the last turn. This leading to at least a 20 mph decrease in speed on exit. It can never regenerate enough to gain the speed back.
At 100% I have full electrical capacity for most of the lap.
Not really sure why anyone would run zero.

Here is my lap in the Porsche.
1:49.653.

Have you noticed any difference in braking or lap time for the first 9/10's of the lap before you run out of juice?

Braking felt the same.
Lap times are about the same as well. I was sometimes ahead of my ghost and other times behind my ghost. But, by the time I reached near the end of the long final straight, I was out of juice and watched my ghost just fly by me.

I noticed if the MGU-K is set to a higher number the juice doesn't run out as fast and regenerates faster.

I have yet to fiddle with the MGU-K in a middle setting (40%-60%)

That would be the purpose to setting the percentage high, to allow greater harvesting of energy. However there should be a consequence in doing this (otherwise what's the point!), Hence my thoughts about braking being sacrificed.

Oh well, who knows for sure but I'm guessing another bug to resolve.

I expected differences/consequences as well.

However, it could come down to me not knowing how to explain these things very well, my lack of experience with these tuning options, being an average driver and an even worse tuner.

Good luck fellas. I'm interested to see the results of this TT. Anyone take the Ferrari?

I took LaFerrari!!! :D

Did my time this morning before i went out for the day, (Hence missing the racing this evening) and won't get another opportunity to try before the event finishes tomorrow........ Just not sure if i should post my time yet.... ;) Well done on your time @Boston77

Good as I haven't tried yet. Haven't even picked a car but why not post your time that way someone can find a way to push even if they still cannot reach it.

When does it end, surely not tomorrow morning?

Haha but this Hamster is quite secretive @Orayani ;) All i'll say is that my lap was under 2 minutes.......

The TT finishes 11:59pm wherever you are in the world tomorrow night! :)

I did an average lap in the P1 earlier in the week, but have forgotten to put the time up.

Do I have until tonight, or was it midnight on Sunday night?
I'll be back from my short travels tonight, so could load up pic then.

Lol ok:
