@Lissa great to see you in here again! We really need to do some online racing again soon :D do you have pcars2 too? I hope Pete (and us here) makes you want a ps4 soon so we can have some fun :) and with ps4 you only need to buy the game 1 time to play on 2 ps4s 👍

Why don't I receive alerts from this thread. It's the only thread I've subscribed to and yet; when someone posts, I get nothing. Its maddening.

I'll get started on this time trial, right away. Both, the car and the track are enjoyable.

Yeah man I've had that problem before with the notifications on some threads......Just a case of checking into the thread when you remember really. :(

I'm glad you like the combo, the Maserati is a beast! Like a Hamster, but with sharper teeth! :D

Yes, but the pellets those hamsters leave behind... Oh the pellets!

Here's an early time. This is getting up to the point where I have to perfect my racing lines, and then start to push the car beyond my comfort limits. Both are incredibly tough for me to do.

I'm expecting everyone else to be in the 1:98's.

It is a very nice combo. The car feels planted and it grips like mad. The limits of the car go further than my faith. Need to push a bit more.

BTW: I use the large exit strip on the left of the very tight righthander before the major round stand. Is that allowed? I also set TC to 0 , is that ok as well?

Yes man it's a great combo........The line you take is fine, we go by the track limits, as they're quite fair in AC, unlike PCARS2.....But keep TC and ABS as they are please @doblocruiser, as we always run with stock setups in the TTs. You can change tyre compound if you want though, and remove the fuel from the car. ;)

Post your best time from the in game timescreen when ever you want, and you can try as much as you want to improve. Have fun!! ;)

You guys are flying 👍

That chicane in the end is really tricky. If you take the curb on the left, you'll need to counter steer directly since otherwise the car simply spins towards the left. The chikane cought me out multiple times by surprise and this always happens when the rest of the lap went pretty nicely....:irked:

I'm flattered, but no... I am not flying. Once everyone starts submitting times you'll see how slow I'm going. I'm the James May of AC CRAP.

I'm slowing to 3rd gear and making use of the curbing. By the time I'm making the right turn, I'm at 65% throttle and well settled for turn exit. Also engine break the ever living heck out of the car. It helps set the whole chicane up. Wide entry for the first part, through the apex. That should help you hit the second apex.

Did a longer run this evening and since it is probably the only longer stint I can do this week, this will most likely be my final time. Had about 30min of playtime which was just enough to get under the 2 minute barrier. There is probably some more to get but I didn't manage to put the next couple of laps faultless together so I would improve once more. I tidied up the sharp righthander to at least respect somehow the tracklimits :)

Also need to practice a bit in PCARS2 since the CRAP Club start there next friday and I haven't drive a enough to get a decent feel. Only thing I notice that it is less smooth then AC so far.

My time 1:59:960

Nice, smooth lap there man, very nice! And oh, you've got a new sub on your YT channel! :D

Nice, smooth lap there man

I tried to use the track as good as possible but I am afraid to go over the limit and ruin the lap. With this result I am personally very happy even if it means I'll end up last 👍 The car is so nice to drive and it gives confidence and I nailed that chicane only on that lap. The other ones there was always a small mistake.

Thank you for the sub

Doblocruiser, with a time like that you definitely won't place last. And your replay looks heroic. I've watched my replays, and they look like an old man with a Walker, attempting to cross 8 lanes of city street at a traffic light, in comparison. He makes it, but it's one of those travesties where one can't avert their gaze.

Anyhow, you're off to a screaming start.

Hmm... something extra, therein lurks. What I do not know.

:.

A '98 of course! There may not be much more lurking... I remember doing the special event at Spa in this car back in July, and it took me 60 or so laps (plus many restarts) to get the gold, and then only just! So I know the car a bit, but I also know it takes something special to get every last drop out of it.

 you are funny and thanks for the kind comment. Since I start playing AC a couple of weeks ago I had @lancia delta hf pointing me to several videos by the Kunos Team and even with that knowlegde mostly there I started to apply it properly while playing. I think there is a fine line between against limit, on limit and over limit in which you can gain or lose "a lot" of time. I know I am not the fastest driver but with the technique applied I am "faster" than I used to be. Then there is the time investment for the cars! If I could spent multiple hours a day with the same car you get to a point where you can really be a lot more on the limit and the trackknowlegde profits from that as well. But hey, I am a family man and I can't commit myself in such a way. Another imported thing is that I want to keep it fun. I like driving older cars for a couple of laps and simply watch them go around. All that time I could be perfecting my driving skills. In the end what counts is that we enjoy the time we spend, be it slow or be it fast doesn't really matter

You honor your name! You know that Outspacer means Alien right :D Absolutely impressive you pumped out a 1.58.937  I have no clue how on earth you push that car like that but it has probably to do a bit with what I answered to @Dopplegagger 👍

Well of course, but I could call myself President and it wouldn't make it so! I got it from "Imposter" by P K Dick... somewhat apt, albeit reversed from his story ;)

I'll most likely get pushed down to 3rd by the time this ends :) I feel I've got most of what I can out of the car and don't want to spend too long at it - I'm still aching from grappling with Moby Dick! Plus this is just for fun, so putting way more time in than anyone else wouldn't prove anything. True alien time might be mid to low 1:57 I reckon, even without tweaking tyre pressures (which isn't allowed here), and probably taking less laps than me to get there.

I think that this Utube video may inspire us to a better TT race!

He found my lost tenth in S2! :D That's pretty much the lines I'm using, apart from the chicane where I avoided the humps. My last improvement was through the first sector, mainly getting T2 right.

I find Nurb GP a funny track - it's easy to lose many tenths and yet still feel like you're at the limit
