CRAP Club Assetto Corsa Time Trials!! - New TTs, Sometime In The Future!!

Thanks. To be honest, sim racing isn’t the only thing which caused my controller to be broken. I’ve purchased Dark Souls 3 in 2017 and that and my anger managing problems also led to this :D
I’ll try if I can fix it, if not then maybe I can get a new controller for the next PC2 time trials.

By the way is it wrong if I share some personal things here? I’m not used to this very welcoming enviroment which I’ve experienced in these TT topics. Just tell me if I’m too much ;)

Chat away my friend, I'm thinking of starting a new career as a psychologist anyway, so it'll be good practice! :D

Did I tell you fellas about the time I walked into a room full of people, and my shorts fe.......... ;)

Still room for improvement... :)

Speaking of Dark Souls 3, I got it recently and yes; I only played it with the Keyboard. Needless to say I was wrecked by the Hair Knight Monster thingy. I have an XB1 controller sitting next to me, but I never plug it in unless I fire up the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive collection. I can't play any of those games on a keyboard, except for Columns and one of the Ms. Packman Mods. LOL

And the banter is fine by me. I thought I was a bit talkative here.

I've never tried it with a keyboard because I heard that it is much harder with it. The Nameless King was pretty hard to beat, it took me 2 hours and around a 100 deaths to beat him :D Since then I've beaten DS3 4 times, DS2 SoTFS twice, DS1 once and DS Remastered once (all boss runs in every game with DLCs), I would like to try Bloodborne out, but I don't have a console....

Anyway as a madman as I am I practised for another hour and I got a much better time on keyboard this time, I don't know how much can I improve on my lap :D

WOW! And here, I thought I was doing something getting into the 2:32's... wellp, more seat time is required before I submit. If I can't get into the 2:28's then I don't know what to say for my lack of skills.

I will use the "I was too busy playing R3E" excuse though... ;)

Had a second go, goodness you have to be smooth with this car......The rear end likes to get loose!! :D

2:23.657, The brakes are great, so brake as late as you dare, but in a straight line, as if you brake with steering lock applied, the rear likes to step out. Also, the tyres cool down along the Kemmel straight into Les Combes, so be careful as there's low grip when you arrive.

Great fun all the same, The Cup Car would make for a great race!

The PC is down due to memory problems. I've got tired of crap like the game shuddering when I pass certain sections of the track where theres a lot of shadows, or in R3E, the controls momentarily freeze when the FFB gets busy, so I am diagnosing it. Running a used MOBO, ram, CPU and Power supply made the price of entry low, but it has its drawbacks.

For the moment, I'm just trying tofind out what the problems are. In the coming weeks I will swap out all the old bits anyways. That should get my 1070 singing.

UPDATE!
I need new memory... BUT... instead of running 16GB, I can install 32GB. It may be DDR3 but more memory is better, right?

Well, of course! But 16GB is plenty for now and if you're spending money on it, it might be better spent elsewhere.

So I had a go at the TT just now, although I hope to get another run or two in this week as this wasn't as smooooth as it could've been :mischievous:

Wow @Outspacer you got me by 23 thousandths!!!! Well done mate!!! I hope to give it another bash too sometime before we end!

This was one of many sessions, but produced this result and a clean lap. Not going wide at Eau Rouge or Pouhon took a while to link up with the rest of the lap.

Hi mate, and welcome back to the TTs!! Well done with your time! ;)

I only have a little bit of shuddering in Assetto Corsa when the Sidekick App refreshes my best time for some reason.
In Project Cars 2 there is a bit of shuddering when I hit a traffic cone at the edge of the track because for some reason my computer cannot compute the physics of it. I have 8GB of DDR4 memory (2400MHz) installed.

Things seemed to work pretty good today. No stuttering, or frame hitches. I stopped Discord and Steam from starting when I turn my PC on. Apparently that helped. I am about to give R3E a try and see how it plays. Fingers crossed.

But that aside, I can finally post a time...

There's a lot of room for improvement. Perhaps I can do it on Thursday, when I have more of time to spare. We'll see.

Went again, and a much tidier lap:

2:23.012! Nailed Les Combes finally, and smoother in general.....I reckon a '22 is there, just a case of going out and finding it lol! That'll be my final time, as I'll be too busy to try again before we end on Friday night. :( Great times everyone, and glad to see you have the PC firing better @Dopplegagger! ;)

I also did a rare thing, and tried out the Porsche Super Cup car against some AI on max difficulty, good larks, and those AI like to put up a fight in AC, although I am pretty rusty for the lack of racing online over the last few months, that's got to change!! :indiff: :scared: :dopey:

Great time, you're soooo close to '22! 👍 Well I'll have to see what I can do - I can probably get my theoretical into the 22s, but it's a big challenge to nail every corner

Go for it mate, I hope you can break into those '22s!!!
