CRAP DiRT Rally Club [PS4] Racenet League Events live

Using radio button (R2) on T300 GTE and it works OK. Got my wheel 3-4 cm to the right from center of myself so its easier to turn the wheel around.

Had a monster run on both for the Kit Car in Finland, currently second on the leaderboard and first without driver aids.

Could have done better as I messed up the square left on the first stage and lost a good five or six seconds at least and had a massive tank slapper on the second after landing from a jump and just managed to keep it out of the trees.

For some odd reason it seems the Seat, Finland and me really like each other.

R2 for the handbrake knukk?

Yes. Radio button

Yay me! Wish you could keep some sort of archive of previous league results within the DiRTgame site. Hall of Famer candidate pfffttt!!!!

Here's my TV cam run of the brutal River Severn stage. 6:31.667 for those that didn't see it, completed about 04:30am.

This car is mental, you have to drive it like a powerboat, only ever really doing inputs/throttle on the compressions. Co-pilot should be my throttle man lol.

But if you can drive this and a stock F40 in GT6 you can drive anything.

Will have a shot at Season 2 openers tonight, expect no stage 2 run lol.

Not at all. It's just the name of the club. It's for all types of drivers.

Technically it stands for Casual Racing Affiliates Program. There's not much casual about the group though in terms of ability of some members whether in Project Cars or Dirt Rally. Personally though I'm indeed CRAP at Dirt Rally but given a bit of time I'll improve.

Well this is where my dilemmas stands.
If I do join up, I don't want to commit fully. Because of work, I'll be missing a lot of events, but because of the nature of the game, with it being single stages, and being able to do them on my own without having to be online at a set time as everyone else, I should be able to take part in most events.

Because of this, I don't have the opportunity to be highly competitive, therefore I would be more than happy to race against people of the same skill level as me. I'm not expecting to hit the podium every time, but it would suck if I kept being slower than everyone by several minutes.

Frankly, I had enough of that with circuit racing. I've been been doing this since Gran Turismo 4 came out! Tying to be competitive is exhausting and my current life situation does not allow me to perform at my best nor can I improve my skills any further.

So, in short, what would really entice me to join would be a short explanation of how the time trails events work (I'm not interested in rally cross).
Things like, once I join the league, can I post my results any time between the start and end of the event?
Will I be penalized if I skip any event/stage?

I really appreciate all your patience and help given thus far.

@Deko Wolf-GTPT

I've been in this group for more than 4 years now (since GT5). I'm a casual gamer gaming at weekends when Gf and kids are away from home. Yes. I have missed many events and a ton of fun. But when I do have time I enjoy almost every race/event we have. There's players with many different skills from beginners to "aliens". It's up to you how involved you want to be. Do you have project cars? Try a night or two and see how it is. There's usually a group chat open too if you're interested.

Didn't see where I could load my preset tune (basic jack it up) for stage 1 :grumpy:. Went straight to stage start after car selection I think.

So was not as confident 5 secs after the lights went out, back to default tune. I think it might have been a monster time otherwise.

When I was able to apply tune for stage 2 I had a mare, I was already rattled and stuffed it, went round like a lamb. I'll show the vid though, if it decides to upload.

The radiator takes a beating whatever you do it seems.

Sorry you couldn't load or set a tune for the first stage, I set it to allow tuning for all stages so it may be a bug.

No worries, just stating it for others, unless I missed something?

Just didn't give me the confidence to push, I'd just stabilised the car for the big rolling straight section.

I don't mind forced default setup. I'd just taken advantage to stabilise the car more in my 2 run throughs in custom.

I thought everyone would probably be tune demons, didn't want to be left in the dirt........huhht!

Well it appears I cant edit this season so unfortunately we are going to have to stay with default setups for the first stage of each event.

Its a shame you cant see your second stage time, just the total time as I took a stage win to close the gap on first place after being down by 4.3 seconds at the end of stage 1.

He also said big jump! But he didn't tell me it was a smaller "big" jump before I started to line up for the wrong jump  ended up sideways over the big jump..

It's a great game! :D
Kind of bad when you can't trust your co-driver!
I think it would be very interesting if you could reccy the stages at slow speeds and make your own pace notes in the game just like real life. Making notes before an event was always good fun when I used to compete as a navigator on rallies.

First stage was a big mess, a nasty landing caused me to hit a pole pretty hard. Second stage was better but the car was still slightly damaged from stage 1.

If I remember correctly, you could change/improve pacenotes in "rally championship 2002"

I managed to balls both new events up.

I was in a bit of a rush. I started the hill climb event and my controls had reverted back to default on my wheel and automatic was enabled. I was all over the place trying to work out what had happened. I got stuck wantng to reverse out of somewhere and not being able to work out how to reverse. Then a wheel was off before I realised I could reconfigure the control settings mid stage. Anyway it was too late so for me it was a shame we had no restart this time.

I then did the double stage in the main club. I did a time about a minute and a half off pace and incorrectly read the event as being two runs on the same corse using only the best time. Of course it was the times combined. I crashed a couple of times and just thought I'll exit and the first attempt will have to do. I exited but it then put in the maximum time of 15 minutes for my 2nd attempt. I should have read the instructions better. Hopefully this will stop someone else making the same silly mistake.

I have decided to only use the TH8A h pattern shifter and clutch when on the wheel from now on (all aids are off anyway). Don't expect me to improve much but the h pattern shifter is much more fun than the paddles in this game. I may well do the same in Project Cars having spent a year using the paddles most of the time.

I thought you must have had a bit of a torrid time looking at your stage times but looking on the plus side things can only get better :P:tup:
