Personal my favourite events is Finland, you have just got to love it for shear speed and bravery!:eek:

It's easier on tarmac ;) Finland is my favourite but I'm better in Germany. At least I think so...
here's how Wales is like for me most of the time...

And here's 2 ok runs

My favourite rally is Greece, it's the one where you can most easily remember where you're going because the scenery is so different on the descent, it means you can drive to whatever pace feels comfortable with the car. On rallies like Finland where all the corners are blind and look vaguely similar I'm driving by the pace notes which means having to leave something in reserve.

btw I planned on racing the Stratos all season but I might switch to a class with more entries depending on how things are going.

My favourite rallies are Wales and Sweden. But I`m happy with all locations we`ve got in Dirt Rally.
It`s a shame that Dirt 4 won`t include Finland or Monte Carlo (maybe Germany too).
Hope to see more locations with DLC`s.

Yeah it's a shame we are down to just 5 locations in Dirt 4 but ultimately we will almost have an infinite number of stages on them.

I've always wondered what sort of setup people are playing with so to get the ball rolling here is my humble setup.

Setup.jpg

Well impressed how everyone is doing with the current event. We have 25 competitors through to the finish of the rally so far and the times over the power stage are covered by just 39.5 seconds!
Well done everyone.

Did Germany with Renault. Sigh :guilty: High hopes but poor result. I have no feeling with the car, it's like the brakes are very weak, had to press the pedal like crazy and then bump to get the car to turn. Must do some more testing with the setups or it's back to my trusty Manta.

My setup: G29 rigged to old DrivingForce wheel stand, TV, no H-shifter.

Wish more people would joing the hill climb league. It's my strongest category on the game, no doubt.

I have 2 confessions :
I have never ever completed a single hill climb race! It's just super hard to me! Car slides a lot and behave much different then rally! No map! No co-driver to get directions from! It's just super hard and never finished a race!
I lost to the AI on rally cross on entry open difficulty! Something is off there too! I dunno why i can't drive it well!
I'm usually not that bad elsewhere! I race assetto corsa on medium difficulty and usually win! I drive dirt rally now on Elite difficulty and gettinf 3rd/4th (won the professional difficulty). I drive F1 2016 on Hard and usually win! It's just those 2 modes in dirt rally (hill climb and rally cross) that i utterly suck at!

I have both Assetto Corsa and ProjectCARS. I have only had time to use Assetto twice so far but need to get into it more as I intend to do more racing in it as soon as private lobbies are available.
I love the Renault Clio in PCars as well as the Ginetta Junior.

I've got that problem too :(

I was torn between those two and PCars GOTY edition was a more compelling offer as it was only 17.99$ while AC basic game was for 22.99$ and an additional 14.99$ for the season pass!
After lots of search and reviews i got AC as it provides better driving experience with better physics, better force feedback, and better detailed accurate cars! In every other aspect (features, graphics, options, racing, fun maybe, etc...) PCars is much better!

I had a quick go in the Renault after I finished my rally, was expecting to be really agile with rear-wheel drive and the engine in the middle but it just understeers like crazy, I was almost stopping at hairpins and the car would still go straight on at the exit. In its defense though it has great balance, on a rally like Finland or Sweden it could be the car to beat.

Ohhh so it wasn't me then!
I chose the renault in my first race at Germany as I have never tried a RWD car in this game! So i thought a small car (with no big ass to oversteer like crazy) would be adequate! It proved to be super hard to drive and sometimes had to brake a lot to go into some corners!

The Renault is uniquely useless on tarmac with its horrific understeer, but GOTMAXPOWER is right, on loose surfaces it's much much better, I suspect it could even be the fastest in the right hands. Still a bit of effort needed to get it sideways but once you do it's a very smooth, stable and nippy machine. Worth sticking with it imo. 👍

Just finished my event. I should have drove a little bit before entering Germany because it took me first two stages to get used to how Lancia 037 handles on Tarmac... I lost 25 seconds on those two stages and on last three I just lost 1,3 seconds on last three stages! Lancia is crazy beast but when you get used to it well... It's so satisfying! Now its only 5 stages so I think I must practice a little (where can I find time for it?) before entering next event.
Boy I love driving with RWD cars, it is so much different from 4WD's and this game actually feels like brand new game again!

Yeah it's been great fun getting used to a rear wheel drive car. The BMW is so much fun and oh boy what a sound that engine makes!

Well after seeing @knukken 's practice video for Wales I thought I would have a go with the Beemer. I even did my first bit of tuning with the car changing the diff lock settings and the front suspension.
I'm really enjoying this car now, so much fun!

Here's mine with old wheel and my "gear shifting practice rig" :) I'll try to post a new pic later this week 👍

M8, i had never run on pikes peak before Dirt Rally. On my first try, my first thought was: "where are the notes? How can you be fast on this track without them!?"

A tip: Do the Hill Climb championship on career mode. They make a pretty good job of getting you used to the whole track. It will take time, put you will memorize all of it. I know everyone single corner on the course now. And i absolute love it.

One decent run from me there:

I'll probably wont to do all rally's this season. When I saw Germany (my favourite one) was the first rally, and there was still 3 hours left, I couldn't resist having a go. First stages were a bit sloppy, a spin in SS1 and a few itchy moment is SS2 led to a 6th place overall. From then on things started to go better. Moved up to first place after SS5 and managed to take the powerstage win.

Powerstage:

Well, Rally Germany proved to be far more popular than I expected! We had a total of 47 starters ( for this season this is the top score for this round ) and 38 finishers. At this rate, it's going to be a very hard competition this time.

Thanks to all that took part, quite a few new members. The league is rapidly heading towards 200 members! We must be doing something right!

Nice to see one of our founder members taking part this time @JohnScoonsBeard I hope you manage to do the full season!

Looking at the power stage times, it's incredible I think that all 38 are covered by less than a minute (just).

I'll try to. Had a first try on PSVR Dirt Rally. In fact it's the first time in the game in ages. VR is brilliant. I was on controller but it still felt great peering out of the Stratos. Might just start the career mode now. Need to fix my wheel stand.
