to get to top 10, i have to be luckier than forrest gump...

just got done doing a few shuffle races in my lounge on Nurburgring in the early hours of the morning...DAMN that sunrise looks good!!!!! Respect to Kaz and his team the modelling in this game just blows me away!!!

I just put a bunch of hours in GT here tonight...I was looking for you guys but no one had a lounge up...smyth hit me up for some karting but I couldn't join his lounge due to network incompatibility. I hope this isn't a recurring issue...I look forward to running with you guys...but we'll see. Thanks for accepting my friend requests guys and I'm still waiting to hear from some of you...I didn't see kens name in the list that was posted earlier in the thread but I'll have to give him a shout tomorrow. Hopefully we can find some time to get together here in the near future.

Yeah sorry about that. Not really sure what was happening with that. Other people didn't have a problem joining (that i know of). It showed you were in there for a minute or so and then gone. Maybe it was just busy servers or something from the DLC release in N.A.

Had a good time with you guys. all three of you guys were WAY faster than me but at least you had the other 2 for some competition.




Oh and heathen, i don't mind hosting rooms in my lobby or opening a private one, but if someone else already pm'd you or something it's probably for the best since I may not always be on when needed. I'd be a decent substitute though i suppose, so if you want someone to host a room in a pinch, or if I'm in your lobby just for casual racing one night and there are too many people let me know and I'll pop into my own lobby for the overflow.

Just set up a room in the open lobby...shuffle at Spa if anyone is interested. I was having network incompatibility issues last night trying to join smyth's lounge so i want to see if this might work. Feel free to join if you're logged in. I'll be hanging out with my daughter this morning so I might not be paying attention religiously but I'll be checking on and off. I'll also be checking this thread on and off so post a comment if you're in the room waiting for me. Anyone who isn't a part of C.R.A.P will be kicked.

Edit: 12:20PM here in the good ol' US. Had to run for at least the daylight hours so I shut down the room for now. But I had the pleasure of running some competitive races with Ken while it was open. We seem to be comparable as far as skill level on the track so it ought to make for some good, fun, competitive races down the line. Can't wait to get some more of you guys on the track with us at the same time.

Interesting, you're the first person i've heard that was let down by spa. I've heard people that didn't think it was worth the hype but were generally happy with the course. Personally i like Spa. It's challenging but a learn-able. It definitely isn't the most technical course out there, and as far as scenery goes most courses will pretty much just be trees, or mountains unless it's an urban track. That's why i was rather disappointed with Cape Ring, they make a great fantasy course and put it in the middle of nothing at all, not even a nice landscape to look at most of the time around that course, could've at least thrown a light house or something in there. That is one of the nice parts of this game, most racing games at this point really, there's a diverse group of tracks so there's something for everyone.
Sorry for the lengthy post, just haven't heard anyone that was disappointed in Spa till now, everyone else pretty much says that spa alone makes the whole $11 worth it for the DLC.

Go to your driver list in GT Life and click the 'collect rewards' button in the drivers profile window. Each driver can hold up to 20 million credits. So if you go hard you can hold 120 million in your b-spec drivers and each time you run out in a-spec just collect from your driver. (anything over 20m in your a-spec credits gets wiped).
The credits are earned in b-spec online races i.e. remote races from your community tab or when in standby server mode from any web browser with Internet access.
You can't control the drivers in these races so it's just luck of the draw if you win (heathens level 39 driver was beaten by my 2 level 22 drivers last night) but its a good way to increase your b-spec level without taking up the tele.
If your drivers are set to online I'll run a few races tonight.

With the two drivers I actually spent time on I found the more input you give them when there still under level 10 there skill goes up significantly more than if you just start in a higher powered car and let him win by just cruising around. By telling him to slow down in certain places he actually achieves faster lap times. I haven't had time to search the b-spec threads enough to find out how much this actually effects the progress of the driver but might be worth a look If you have time.

Try some of the LMPs or DTMs. I think that more downforce = more enjoyment at this track

UPDATE TO OP 9-07-2012

Greetings to all CRAP drivers!!

Welcome to our main GTP thread 👍

I started this group as a result of constant frustration when entering rooms online only to get booted for any number of bogus reasons. The main ones were for being a "n00b" (and being new to something is a crime how?) or for "cheating" because I used driving aids & it really got to me that there was no group that I could see that was for folks like me so I thought I would start one!

Little did I know how much this idea was wanted by the GTP Community. After 4 months we have over 100 members, 5 CRAP PSN ID's that we use for racing and a dedicated core group of members that race daily; it is these members that are the lifeblood of CRAP and that list of daily CRAPpers is growing fast... So fast in fact that I have had to re-evaluate how we do things.

How it worked up til today involved interested users adding the 5 main CRAP accounts and that was it, simple and easy... Unfortunately though we have had so many members join that it is, to be honest, rather a mess when it comes to members and the rooms PSN ID's they have 'friended' on PSN. You see the idea is, and always has been, that all members send a FR to all five PSN ID's but that has not happened. What we have now is a list of members that either have all 5 friended or, and this applies to a fair percentage, less than 5 so instead of being nice and neat it is, to be honest, a bit of a dogs breakfast

Now the procedure is simple: Put a post up here and we will be in touch to let you know what you need to do


DRIVING AIDS:

All C.R.A.P lounges and rooms are to have these as options for any new drivers. I do not care if people use them or not and it is important that they remain as an option to all drivers who wish to use them. As far as I know they actually slow down (SRF excluded) the driver so there should not be any issues but I refuse to allow drivers to feel alienated because they are being targeted for using the aids so they are to remain an option at all times. I know SRF cab quicken a driver but it is an included aid in the game so if anyone wants to use it then that's fine, it is not cheating nor is it in any way to be looked down upon.

The one exception to this is our regular enduro's, they will have no SRF available and on some occasions other aids may be switched off but plenty of notice will be given during monthly endurance events there will be no aids at all except ABS on 1 and any other regular event will have aids allowed but no SRF.

It is important for any new members to understand that C.R.A.P is not for the discerning GT5 professional driver. If you are that guy or gal who needs a high level league or club that is not considered "casual" then you are definitely in the wrong place. We here at C.R.A.P welcome those of you that struggle to find online rooms due to getting booted for not being a pro, being considered a bumper despite trying not to and those guys with a desire to further their driving but who just don't get the chance often due to real life commitments whether it be work, kids or an angry wife who wants to use the TV!

C.R.A.P will hold regular endurance races and constant daily free runs and smaller races using a group of five private lounges. Please note these will never be online so there will not be an icon on the little coffee cup if there is someone in the lounge, this is as the profile won't be online, so just click on the coffee cup of the lounge to see the list of occupants and enter if you like.

I also want to add that whilst it is possible to change the regulations and settings in these lounges please refrain from doing so unless you're the host. We should treat the lounge host the same as the host of an online room so unless you have been given permission don't change anything
