CRAP GT6 - GT500 Sat 7 Nov 9pm EST (GMT-5)Open

hilarious night.... stil laughing while posting this....

once again, thanks to all who had turned my dull evening into an enjoyable one.

see u guys tmr!

I had a great time as well.

Also, Ken, sorry about hitting you in that last race. I intended to make your life a bit difficult by forcing you on a tricky line after you'd had me off, but my truck was still wobbly from the crash and I overdid it. Didn't intend to crash into you like that.

edit: By the way, what kind of weird damage system did we have on? After I crashed my truck was undriveable and horribly slow for a while (even more than usual ;-) ), but half a lap later it was completely fine again.

Pretty sure it was the default, which is light mechanical. A hard enough hit will stuff the car, but only for a brief period of time. Then through the magic of the built-in gt5 mechanics (yes they drive with you) make everything good again.

The one race I managed to do before getting booted off was really fun... That was THE best I think I've ever raced... 5th place!! RESULT hahaha

Heathen that was an awesome choice of car for Laguna Seca LOL

Oh man, I missed Laguna tonight?

Wish I'd have made it. But that's the greatness about casual racing. Do when you can, don't when you can't!

I have to say I love the whole system that's going on here but someone needs to make real racing thread for us guys who have families and what not.

Heathen?

C.R.A.P - Such is life.

Current lap record for the custom Redbull track: Heathenpride - 0:56:016

Lap records will be recorded for those who like to try beat them so by all means give it a go! To qualify for a record a fellow member needs to be present :)

The record for the other custom track is 2:16.500 by ken - I forget the exact time but it was a 2:16 and I saw it AND he went on the grass twice so I am calling it 2:16.500 👍

2:16:500 nice.
i managed a 2:22:xxx last night is all i could muster with racing softs on my speed8. i think a 2:24:xxx on the mazda787 is all i could do. kind of a tight track for those supercars :) luckily the walls keep you close to the track lol.

This is a great thread. I am looking to find a good place to race against clean drivers. I am no the fastest but I don't suck either. I recently discovered the shuffle races, they are really good at providing close racing without having to go and spend hours tuning your car to match a race adequately. I'm in EST time (NA). Thanks for starting this!

It will be clean, but not squeaky clean. Casual racers make mistakes and accidentally bump other drivers. The difference is we expect the driver that gets bumped to understand it is casual racing, it was an accident, and it is NOT appropriate to seek any revenge. Welcome aboard!

This sounds interesting....to be honest I was just kind of scanning this thread so I'm not exactly sure whats going on but I get the general idea. I'd like to get in on this. I'm a casual gamer and I just started running online the past few weeks and I've realized there are way too many knuckleheads out there. People sailing it way too deep into turns, blocking on the first lap, running right into the back of you like you're not even there. Plus some off these guys are way too good for me. Let me know whats going on and what I need to do get involved with you guys. This thread was way too long to thoroughly read, plus my kids are running around at the moment and distracting me. I just got hit in the head with a Nerf baseball...:boggled:

You can be our poster child!

exactly, and when most people in a room have mics you'll usually hear the offender shout out a little "sorry about that guys" rather that someone jumping down their throat with expletives, threats, homophobic insults, etc. :)
Apparently for a whole lot of people online racing is serious business. It starts to feel like the credits they win from a race will get deposited right into their checking account or something.

Oh yes, totally. What I mean by clean is not to crash into others intentionally, or hitting them out of the track in turns when it is more than clear you cannot pass, etc... Having accidental bumps and hits is part of all casual racers' life in GT5 👍

Eprc tank was epic

it's great to wake up to a million posts!

It's a C.R.A.P revolution!!!

Great racing last night! I had what can only be called a bad day in the office but I'll get there!

Gotta get ready for work so I'll read the posts properly soon!!

Thanks for the responses Audio and Heathen...and thanks for letting me in. I received and accepted your requests. Looking forward to running with you guys.

You can be our poster child!

Ain't that the truth...I would love to be the face of C.R.A.P...:yuck: :)

300 mile enduro in tank car FTW!!!

Here comes a muppet question but what PP rated cars do you guys usually race with in these rooms? Do you generally stick to one type or mix it up? This online thing is all new to me but I want to get involved.

Hey Baleb

Dude, we use everything and anything so whatever you have in your garage we can find a use for and we change it up all the time so we don't drive the same cars constantly...

What is your PP preference?

Mate, no PP preference so to speak. Just wanted to make sure you guys don't prefer to race with cars over a certain rating. Sounds good, will try and get on tonight to see what's happening. I'm loving the DLC TC's mind you!

Welcome aboard dude!

Yes we can all get a bit bumpy out on the track, it happens when we all want to get to that corner first!

I actually recommend that the guys new-ish to online racing use the driving line aid. I say this not so you will know when to brake but to get familiar with the driving line of the various tracks because once you know it you will be a lot more aware of it when driving and will be able to race with less bumps.

I am not ashamed to say i use it on tracks that I am learning 👍

Yeah it is not easy - ken makes it look like he was born out there in a 787b lol

I love the track, I am stoked with how it turned out :)

My face is melting... Indiana Jones style at the thought of that 0_o lol

Me too, it has to be done! maybe 20 laps tho!

I'll put a poll up tomorrow when the current one ends, it will have different enduro races & the winner will be the second enduro that we run :)
