I have yet to do a few laps, haven't been in the mood for driving lately. (I got crap to do)
Today my poor XJ '90 is plump wearing out (230,000 miles on it sound wore out enough to ya?) and I'm fixing her up a bit. I just got the Water Pump in her today along with a new idler pulley (Both were SHOT!!! It was making the belt chirp and the idler pulley was nothing but a grinding wheel inside) and now it sounds smooth as silk.
Now I need to get the coolant bled out and fix the leak I found (The Termo housing might of cracked putting it on, but I hope not those suckers are easy to snap I read), so I'm going to hopefully patch that up so I can get to work tomorrow at Noon.
I also got to get a full Suspension rebuild, she's wore out to were it wobbles past 60mph (Been like that since we got it 10 years ago) and I'm fed up with it now. Time for a rebuild, I already got it diagnosed and it's got a lot to be fixed in terms of suspension.
Tie rods and Drag links are wore out and literally buckle back and forth on twist.
Front Coil Springs on the bottom ends of them are broke, need to replace.
Shocks I guess are all bad, but it's mainly because the bushings are shot. (The Right rear shock actually lost the nut holding it completely, it was just hanging on there by weight. I sometimes push this sucker around, I'm surprised it hasn't ever popped off the mount yet)
Rear Wheel bearings are dead shot.
Steering Shaft Universal joint is shot (It's had play for a long time, so I'm not surprised by that)
The other Universal Joint on the front is getting bad, I changed the 1 so I got to replace my other half. (I got the part already, just didn't think it was bad already)
SERIOUSLY need new tires, they're all most gone in the back. Had them on since 2013 and had probably close to 50,000 or more miles on them.
And finally need new Bushings in my Control Arms.
So far I got the main issues taken care of, the next one is tires. And then the Suspension rebuild (Which is going to take some time right there).
I'll be getting my times in soon and probably be back to racing soon, but for now personal car care is needed along with other stuff I need to tinker around with.
Anyways, I'll see you blokes back on the track soon! Take care now!!!!
