I have yet to do a few laps, haven't been in the mood for driving lately. (I got crap to do)

Today my poor XJ '90 is plump wearing out (230,000 miles on it sound wore out enough to ya?) and I'm fixing her up a bit. I just got the Water Pump in her today along with a new idler pulley (Both were SHOT!!! It was making the belt chirp and the idler pulley was nothing but a grinding wheel inside) and now it sounds smooth as silk.

Now I need to get the coolant bled out and fix the leak I found (The Termo housing might of cracked putting it on, but I hope not those suckers are easy to snap I read), so I'm going to hopefully patch that up so I can get to work tomorrow at Noon.

I also got to get a full Suspension rebuild, she's wore out to were it wobbles past 60mph (Been like that since we got it 10 years ago) and I'm fed up with it now. Time for a rebuild, I already got it diagnosed and it's got a lot to be fixed in terms of suspension.

Tie rods and Drag links are wore out and literally buckle back and forth on twist.

Front Coil Springs on the bottom ends of them are broke, need to replace.

Shocks I guess are all bad, but it's mainly because the bushings are shot. (The Right rear shock actually lost the nut holding it completely, it was just hanging on there by weight. I sometimes push this sucker around, I'm surprised it hasn't ever popped off the mount yet)

Rear Wheel bearings are dead shot.

Steering Shaft Universal joint is shot (It's had play for a long time, so I'm not surprised by that)

The other Universal Joint on the front is getting bad, I changed the 1 so I got to replace my other half. (I got the part already, just didn't think it was bad already)

SERIOUSLY need new tires, they're all most gone in the back. Had them on since 2013 and had probably close to 50,000 or more miles on them.

And finally need new Bushings in my Control Arms.

So far I got the main issues taken care of, the next one is tires. And then the Suspension rebuild (Which is going to take some time right there).

I'll be getting my times in soon and probably be back to racing soon, but for now personal car care is needed along with other stuff I need to tinker around with.

Anyways, I'll see you blokes back on the track soon! Take care now!!!!

Sounds cheaper too buy a new car @Carnby7

Heck no, that '90 has gotten me through a LOT of stuff.

No way am I trading that in for some computer-ed up piece of junk! I've seen enough of what these modern cars are like, I rather keep what I got and make it run for a lot longer than retire it just because it's got a few issues here and there.

I refuse to buy a new car unless it's 100% reliable and powerful. Otherwise forget it, plus I don't need a truck I need something practical and good for use when I need it.

All,
For anyone who has not read the rules regarding registering a lap time for the crap teams please be aware that two wheels need to be on the road (over white line) at all times. If you think you may have cut a corner, back off as the time if it's your fastest will be the one used and therfore disqualified even if you put a slower valid lap in.

Nice little motor, sounds filthy on tickover, sorry for the lurid lap but i couldn't walk properly after driving it if you catch my drift lol!!

Hey it's a new car, you're always going to make mistakes in it.

I know I drive like I'm drunk with new cars myself, you don't know until you try pushing it for the first time.

Just wish games would give us a hint to what it handles like before we even try driving it, this way loads of people in sim driving learn how it handles first WAAAAAAAAAAY before they even get into the car. Just like the pro's get before actually driving it for the first time on test day.

whats all this about sorry ive missed so much for some reason im not getting alerts for this thread anymore

It happens when you don't click on an alert. You dont get another alert for new posts until you've visited the thread. At least I think that's the way it works Ryan.

It's the 2 time trial series (1 tuned and 1 default setup) that 2 CRAP teams (5 in each) have entered. The first tuned event went live. TS040 @ Silverstone GP. @knukken has made a spreadsheet where we can post our times. Just updated it with the first tuned event.

Anything on tonight and tomorrow?

I'll "possibly" be on later tonight after the Formula C and Indycar series. @Danrc2010 I might even be available as a reserve for tonight depending on when my wife goes to sleep.

I might be around Saturday night but not mega early.

As for the official time trial series.......

Here's my time so far for the tuned series. 35th so far but @Zakspeed_TV is "only" 7 seconds further up the road in 1st/2nd place! I'm using your Sakitto tune Zak but Jack Spades classic ffb setup. How do you do it? :)
