Yea for savagely and repeated raping women? :odd:

Maybe in addition to saying the crimes committed as sugguested you should add why these people are your favorites?

Well, As ledhead and Duke said, there was no way to stop him...
Ok maybe they could have realized that there was actually blood on the chainsaw with genetic tests, but who expects something like that on the other hand ?

My favorite criminals are the dead ones. Ones during life without parole are close second! :) 👍

ledhed, did you make them up? I've never heard of these guys. They sound cartoony.

A few minor points.

  • 1 - Who?
  • 2 - This is the opinions forum, not the lists forum. Perhaps one should pass opinions on WHY you picked these people?
  • 3 - Who?
  • 4 - "Favourite criminal"? Isn't that a little like saying "Best Viet Cong"? Why do you want to have "favourites" amongst serial killers, psychopaths, sexual predators and your good-old basic freaks? If you'd lived in their "zone" you could well have been on the list... "Oh I'm SO glad I was killed by Peter Sutcliffe - he's my fayv-wit."
  • 5 - Who?

Jacko, because hes so Wacko.

No really, even if he will be "not guilty" today, he is still the wierdest.

Google them , all are real mobsters ( or associates ) from Philly. I like them 'cause they have stupid names and they never shot me ( or my friends ) or robbed me. I grew up with two of them and knew the rest from the neighborhood ( South Phila. ) .

One of the sites said "Skinny Joey" is an active boss. Do you think it's the same one? :scared:

Robin hood.

Questionable topic indeed. Some crimes perhaps are up to debate (Importing spirits was not that immoral, after all), but I think the word "favorite" doesn't fit anywhere near a serial killer such as Ted Bundy. Morbid curiositity and disgust, fine... but putting them on a pedestal? :ill:

That sites out of date they are all either dead or in jail. Skinny Joey Merlino is in for life.

+ they added him to the sex offender registry? that seems too extreme to me, given the nature of his crime.

I agree... still, you will always run that risk if you can't keep the boys in the barracks.... :D

yeah this topic is kind of odd. but anyways, have any of you guys had the chance to see the interview of the late Mr.Bundy before he was executed? it was pretty odd to see a video of someone who you know was dead within the next 24 hours.
he was not a crazed murder like they portray people in movies, he was a regular man who killed people, if you saw him on the streets he would seem no different from anyone else, that is what the big deal about him was. he was a sick man obviously but when i saw the video i expected to see someone who could barely put a full sentence together, one thing i noticed was the fact that he had a wedding ring on, was he married?
one more question, did he write a book and if so what was the name?
sorry for getting off topic :dunce:

I do not recall seeing the interview you mention, but I know he was indeed very intelligent and articulate, for example he did a good job at defending his case alone in court instead of hiring a lawyer. He managed to extend his life for quite a few years this way, in endless appeals. The thing that gave him away is when they tried to take a mould of his teeths to compare them to bites left on the victims. He then turned into a frentzy and it required 4 or 5 guards to control him. When the judge gave the verdict, he emphasized on how his whole life was just a waste of intelligence and talent that could have led him to live a great life.

A lot of notorious criminals are indeed very intelligent, some even geniuses, but that doesn't mean deserve one shred of admiration for it. Do we admire Hitler for his tactical efficiency, for his conquests?

Some people probably do. In fact, I'd guess that certain aspects of blitzkrieg are studied extensively.

If Bundy's good-looks and intelligence make him one of your favorite criminals, then isn't that what this thread is about?

If you are enthralled by the sheer volume of murders committed by the Monster of the Andes can you not call him your favorite criminal?

How can you say someone is your favorite at anything if you don't, in some sense, express an admiration for their accomplishments?

He's not.

This thread seems to be about what criminal you admire, which I think in most cases is quite a bad idea, even worse in the case of a serial killer. Like I said, I do not feel a shred of admiration for someone like Bundy. As I do not admire Hitler, even if, technically speaking he was one the greatest military mastermind of the 20th century.

Hitler had one of the WORST military minds of the 20 th century...otherwise we might all be goose steppin ' . 💡

Are you suggusting fighting a war on 2+ fronts and attacking Russia in winter, with no supplies, and summer uniforms is a bad strategy? :sly:

I agree with JPMontoya in regards to admiration of serial killers, but I ask you, is there not a romanticism involved with the lives of some criminals? Many people have seen the Godfather and though how cool it might be to be a head of an organized crime syndicate? Bonny and Clyde have reached iconic status as an example of a woman who stands by her man, etc.

Yep, that's where he lost it. Other than that Europe was pretty close to be goose steppin' under swatiskas for quite a while.
