I was actually surprised I won that last race I didn't think I could keep the lead for more than half of the race. I kept getting bumped and it boosted my momentum. But during the time I was in the lobby I really enjoyed myself and you guys all gave me a run for my money. You guys all raced well and it is a real shame that lag screwed up some of the races. I hope FG can fix his lag as it caused serious issues. The lag on Indy caused a huge pile up. Nobody likes to get beat horribly because of a lag attack. Weren't you a victim of a lag attack longbow?

Longbow - sorry I messed up the bump draft catch up on Daytona, I had to switch ds3 between races due to battery and I ended up on AT that round somehow meaning it kept shifting to 4 too early, losing momentum. Gave u a nice nudge the next track to make up for it tho and I think u came third :)

I thought you had an AT, I noticed the constant shifting (it was at Indy, not Daytona :sly:). I did appreciate your help in the next one at Daytona though, thank you.

I got hit with it really bad at Indy. I think the worst was the first race though...effectively taken out not by lag but by the driving of someone else. The same at Motegi, though not nearly as severe. The lag was not great at times, I realize it happens sometimes. It's racing, it will go on other days. Today just wasn't the best.
 
Yeah I feel bad I saw that you got taken out at Indy. But you make a good point there will be other races

I think the more people there are, the more chance for lag issues. *sigh*

I also think @funnyguy344 was having some pretty heavy duty connection issues. :ouch:

@funnyguy344 - do you have your ps3 connected to the internet wireless? Was there someone in your house streaming video or doing something on the internet while you were racing?
That many DCs & lag problems is rather unusual. If it happens often, I would try to find out what could be the p

I haven't reviewed all the races yet, and won't have a chance until later or tomorrow, and then I will post results.


By far if you're experiencing connection/lag problems, it can be helped by:

1) hard wire cat cable directly from the PS3 to the router/modem
2) using a router/modem combination instead of a bridged router
3) rebooting the PS3 fresh before scheduled racing
4) REFRAINING from online racing when others in the same household are streaming video or doing anything internet usage intensive

The thing with wireless is that it does seem to depend on someone's internet service in general, and probably something to do with where the ps3 is in relative to the router. I have heard that distance, and or things in between (like appliances or the type of walls) could be involved, but I don't know much about that.
I do however think that if your internet is not the greatest to begin with, using wireless is deadly to online racing.
 
I have a WiFi connection for my PS3. Every time before I do an online race, I usually tell them to not go on YouTube. Right when someone starts watching the video, everything goes crazy. Like @watermelonpunch said, try not to race online when someone else is streaming. It affects most of the people driving near-by.

Yes, that really should be at #1 as the most problematic & most likely to cause problems.
Racing when someone else is watching Youtubes or Netflix or the like is problematic, and particularly bad if you're on wireless connection.

This was established as a spin off of VCRC events using mixed model racing, as a replacement for the Clean Lo PP Shuffle club I ran in GT5 (since there's no shuffle option in GT6).
We usually do a draft battle race spec, of some type, each session, to keep things interesting. 👍

Notice, we will be using the Cube. :)

so....I bought a 2nd cube just to be sure it does come fitted with comfort meds. I thought I had sold it as I feel one cube is quite sufficient for my needs. so I ended up in a cube with cms & no oil change.:dunce:
 
Last night was good fun with some really intense racing. Great to bag a couple of wins before helping out others. The lag was annoying at times but it didn't detract from the excitement once everyone got back together.
