Unless I'm mistaken you can't sign in without the e-mail

The email is for people who have a new PS3 which they did not originally make their account on, such as if their old PS3 broke and they bought a new one. Then you will need the email. Personally I'm still on my original PS3 and I did everything without the email.

I couldn' refresh this page any longer last night, i fell asleep..
I've had a good 8 hours sleep to forget about the fact millions are playing online without me.

So please tell me Aus & NZ are back up? UK is, surely we are already or can't be far?

Aus & NZ were back up for a while, now offline again, like many other parts. You missed the window.

I don't believe this, I signed in and changed password, then got online, happy days! Just switched my back on looking forward to some online racing and its down again! WTF!!!

Bad bad mistake, after this drama i will never log off PSN or pull the internet cord out of my PS3 ever again. :D

Oh no wtf seriously? C'mon i rang in sick for this!!!! I don't wanna spend my day off refreshing a damn forum page lol, i wanna race !!!!

This is crazy.

How could Sony not realize it's the weekend for alot of people, they're at home, gagging for the PSN to come back - news will spread like wildfire.

As soon as the PSN came back up people were always going to jump on it, tell their friends etc etc....

I only got the email re changing passwords on 2 out of 3 backup acounts - the email gave me 3 hrs to respond, I click on the link and (as mentioned above) now that's 'gone down'.

Seeing how much credibility (as well as users) Sony have lost over this, I can't believe they've been so complacent about bringing the PSN back up.

Crazy, totally and utterly crazy... All of that PR crap they gave out aswell.

:dunce:

I feel for you, that really blows. Maybe it'll be up in a few hours, then at least the days not a complete loss.

- PSN got online
- I got an error 80710D36 whilst trying to log-on/change password on my main account
- Got on secondary account, password change worked (only for second account) and I signed in
- Signed off to try and change password/sign-in on main account and got the same error again
- Went back on secondary account just to find out that PSN's down again

Well done Sony, what a horrible company.

Hey power180 I like your picture of the NOMAD. I'm driving it in an endurance GTE class, any tuning suggestions (feel free to PM if you have a spare sec)? Here's hoping PSN stays up and isn't brought crumbling down again. Hoping...

I didn't need to receive any emails. Just signed on and typed in new password on the PS3, then went straight to play GT5 online.
Email needed for primary account not sub accounts to gain access to PSN.

Yeah no problem, was thinking of running it in a race series i'm going to set up with a friend so i recently did a bit of tuning for it. Was set at a 600pp limit. Will message you tommorrow.

Got back an hour ago, finished the Muscle Car Seasonal. Bought me the Rally Celica from the dealer! Time to online race!

PSN and servers arent goint to be stable for weeks, they probably will do ransom updates and stuff. The security is okay, but what about online server stability, and all disconnections that we had?

Nice.. I'm back in Bergen, Norway.
Changed password, logged in, saw lotta online friends (Good to see ya!!), Logged in to GT5, RESCUED 1 BOB! 👍 :D

Once you've changed your password via PS3, you get that courtesy email(which is what was posted and what I recieved) confirming your password change. As far as the U.S. goes, initially you do not need the email to sign in if you're on your original PS3.

An email is needed if your password is forgotten or something else.

A few more rounds of Killzone 3 and Crysis 2 with no hitches. I'm going to jump into some GT5 online multi on the ring.

Strange that so many seem to be having problems, although some are to be expected with the load, I've logged in 3 times since resetting my password earlier and have been racing online for a few hours, no problems whatsoever. I'm not sure why most of you are having to reset your passwords via email? It presented me with a prompt, I put in a new password and logged in immediately.

edit: so you had to confirm the pw change by email? Is this multiple acct users or a regional thing?

I have 8 psn accounts and I was able to change the passwords on all of them today. I feel bad for the people having trouble. We went this long with the psn and now this?

To those who have the error code pop up. Try the log in sequence, get the error message 3 times, then turn your PS3 off. Turn it back on and log in immediately. Worked for me!

Cheers
