The official twitter blog says the demand is too heavy which has caused issues with some regions, and various ISP's have intentionally stopped a huge volume of emails from being sent (because there is so many), they will still get sent eventually though, and Sony are talking to the ISP to make them aware of the situation. PS3 users who keep clicking the button that resends/confirms password change are causing unhelpful network traffic obviously.

Bit confused at what how and when you change pass word. I turned ps3 on this morning got the update loaded then went to sign in it said error code first then psn out for maintenance. When does it ask you to change your password if it does or do you just change it? I thought you would have to sign in using old pass word then change it after that is that what happens. I think the SN was out this morning In Aus so I'll try tonight, just need to know exactly what people did straight after the update when trying to log into their accounts, old pass word first or what ever they did.

Latin America is still not restored and I'm getting irritated. While most of the world has online back, I still get the maintenance message.

That is complete and utter BS. There is no way individual ISP's are being burdened with these emails, if it's a demand problem, it's with Sony, not your ISP.
All this password reset stuff is just being poorly implemented. Why should you need an email to reset secondary accounts and not your main account? I changed the password on my main account with no problem on the PS3, my GTP account and the accounts for my wife and 2 kids are still not working. So much for "we want to make sure we get it right before we turn it back on". 👎
The whole situation from April till now is/was complete and utter BS as you point out.
The fact that the BS is still continuing isn't helping things.

As soon as the woman comes home the steering wheel is gonna have to take a break just to engage in small talk with her about her work that i couldn't give two hoots about, c'mon Sony save my sanity before she gets home.

Yep sucks, it's ok though i think back of all the years the US had to put up with Bush and i smile to myself and think, it's ok i'll let them have the PSN first, they've been through hell and back.
People who have PSN don't care and will never read this thread again, while the rest of us are still playing a waiting game and we don't know if we are waiting hours or days, you can see where PD get their communication from, Sony has been teaching them PR.
While we know services are gonna be restored, the lack of info throughout this whole ordeal has been bs to say the least.
Why is it so hard for a company to put a message out on the internet saying " Today we are working on UK& Australia, if that goes well then tomrrow we will work on Asia etc...
No one knows which territory is next, there should be a freaking thing on the main PS website stating which territory they are currently working on and what order so at least you have half a clue .. It's seriously 🤬 ridiculous now, it was funny and a waiting game at first and now it's plain bad implementation.. Rant over.

Yeah i know i've seen you mention it like 10 times to people where to look so i feel your pain.
I just think if you have the time to tell him where to look then surely you have the time to tell him the answer.. Just a thought. There is a lot of useless posts (including mine) in here so sometimes it's a bit to trawl through just to find the answer your looking for.

How many times do you see a thread pop up where someones asking for something and say "I tried search but found nothing" yet when you do a search its usually in the first thread that comes up? Seriously laziness is rampant thru so many people here its not funny! Good job to the mods for keeping it civil enough.
Maaann, making us people wait for people with 6 accounts on their psn. They can only play on one account at once so why not allow the people with one to jump on, and let the people with like 6 accounts wait... Use their original... Sorry if I sound like an arse I'm just gettin a bit impatient... We need more info!

Yer no prob skope and others, i finally read all the previous 12 or so pages and found out all the info i needed. I agree i was a little lazy but Im at work and i didn't have the time at first to read through all the crap to find what i needed. Just too much stuff to sort through when i first had a look and if that happens, it’s not a bad idea to repeat what i asked for to keep that relevant info on the latest pages.
Psn was out here when i went to work I’ll try tonight and i am on original PS3 and don't know all my passwords but looks like i don't have toooo so that’s some good news.
