You may submit one entry. It must be your own work and not previously entered in a competition.
You may only change your entry once. When changing it, indicate clearly (please, when doing this, edit your post with your new entry, do not submit a new post with a new entry)
Please mark your Final Entry clearly in RED.
Your entry may not exceed the poll character limit. (5 characters are enough to name your image). If your entry exceeds it, the link to the full size image, will be removed.
We recommend you use a free image hosting service such as or
You must post your entry either as a thumbnail, or as a preview linked to the full image - see here for instructions .
Previews should be no larger than 400 pixels along the longest side - be it vertical or horizontal - and should not have more or less effects than the full size image.
Photos must be taken from a normal version of GT4, do not use any cheats or Game Shark codes to modify the game content.
Please do not ask other members to choose your entry. Have confidence in your own skills and go with your favorite shot.
The theme chooser cannot enter the competition he is judging.

My first (decent) attempt at adding motion blur, believe it or not. I originally made this shot as a still, then I edited it into a motion using 440's 4-year-old tutorial. Unfortunately, something happened and the shot wasn't saved. I redid it and despite forgetting something, it looks okay.

there's plenty on youtube. i think you'd learn quicker if you watch it on video
rather than reading about it. just make sure you add 'gimp' to the search.

Except I didn't mess with all the layers stuff because I got lost after awhile and my tiny brain couldn't understand it anymore.

Love the open edit theme, I should get some entries in this weekend. Also might I suggest holding this one open for a few more days than the deadline (09/27), considering this is a open edit, and it usually takes much longer to tweak/touch-up the shots.

Guess it won't run longer, bummer I got a half done shot. Why state that it will run longer, then not follow through with what you said.

So basically I wasted 3+ hours editing on a shot that's only about half done, if you would have said you were going to hold firm to the deadline, I wouldn't have bothered with this one (which is why I asked before editing the shot). I was building a SLR War Machine, very James Bond-esque, but I guess I'll scrap it now, and wait for another 6 months or so until another free/open edit comes around.

Next time don't even reply if you are unsure about your intentions.

I do apologise for that, it wasn't until after I closed it and had put up the poll and came to change the topic name that I noticed the extended due date I previously changed it to.
I did mean to let it run longer (and it's run 3 days more than originally implied) but it seems I got my dates a bit mixed up, my sincerest apologies.

(Open edits are more common here than any other competition if it's any consolation)
