CyberPunk 2077

Man, this game throws a lot of info at you. Gun options, perks, loot, shards, quickhacks...Struggling to make sense of it all. Was playing through the Maelstrom All Foods mission and when the fight broke out with Militech could not tell sometimes where the enemies were exactly.

Running into some bugs now, with NPC animations, AI getting stuck, etc. No crashes yet. Frame rate on PS5 is starting to dip now down into what feels like 40s.
Yep in the beginning very overwhelming. What to do first, what's important, what to remember etc. Then I watched this video and I could destress a little bit ;)

I've run into my first game-breaking bug, stops progress dead.

At the end of 'The Pickup' story mission, if you've gone with the corporate path for the mission (used Meredith's money to pay for the flathead), at the very end you need to speak to Jackie, but he gets stuck in a building and a corp guard will not let you back in to speak to him, and no other route back into the building exists, as the original entrance you used is now locked.

The main thing annoying me is the constant NetRunner "overheat" notifications. It seems near impossible to outmaneuver them, it's very frustrating.

I am, however, loving just exploring the city on PS5, I can't wait for the proper new-gen version.

I have around 6 hours into it and I’m liking it, it has a lot of problems atm though.

It looks and runs how I expected on base ps4. Low resolution, low fps, numerous graphic and audio glitches. I also crashed twice. I turned off some of the graphics settings and it seems to be running a little smoother.

The default control settings are also pretty bad, I find aiming down site very twitchy, hip fire feels ok. I’ve been playing around with the settings and I’m slowly getting it sorted, there are a lot options.

For aiming, go to settings and turn on advanced controls, then reduce turning bonuses down to maybe 0.3 (which is what I have) or lower. I’ve also reduced Horizontal Turning ADS down to 1.3 from I think 1.8 default.

I set all the turning bonuses down to 0 last night, also changed the response curve to dynamic. I still need to play around with it though, it’s not that smooth atm.

Turning off the turning bonus in general is a good idea, it feels really odd when you're just walking/running through the city too

I've got all the parts for my new PC build finally.

Managed to get an out of case build done at lunchtime to test it all worked and that the BIOS update I did was sucessful. All good and got Windows installed while I was at it. I've done a bit of work with the case this evening. Will finish the build tonight/tomorrow morning before work then give this game a try and try some overclocking and fine tuning.
You know it's a serious build when there are case fans lying around. :) And Silent Wings 3 no less!
May I ask what CPU/GPU/mobo?
Since you mentioned bios update I'm guessing an X570 or a B550 + one of the new Ryzen 5000 chips? And is that MSI card a 3080?

I've recently ordered a 5600X + Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite myself.

I like to have them set to a low value just because it helps you turn around a bit quicker.

I've encountered a few minor bugs (textures failing to load, mostly) and my game crashed once on PS4 Pro but I am enjoying what I am playing so far. I've noticed dips in frame rate when you try to do too much at once, like the game itself is slow to complete actions so they pile up and all occur at once and can cause lag or crash the game.

Otherwise, cool game so far but I've only got 2-3 hours in. Really does feel like an eventful, real city, even though at time is feels a little empty. Great characters and the plot is so far very interesting. I've barely played the Witcher 3, but my brother raves about the plot and writing of the quests, so I imagine Cyberpunk being the same quality in terms of story/ quests.

Getting more into it, finally had my first crash about 6 hours in. I wish that image above was the biggest of the problems!

I have a feeling that my Netrunner build will be much more difficult to achieve compared to a Solo.
There's plenty of weapons you can pick up from enemies, but (so far) I haven't see any implants or quickhack modules.
Those need to be bought with a lot of eddies, which right now I have almost none.
I guess I'll be doing a bunch of side content early, which is fine with me, I guess it will allow me to immerse into the world more.
Just hope at the end I'll be able to really get to a point where I can do most of my takedowns using quickhacks with maybe a silenced shot of a pistol here and there. That would be cool, hope I can make that happen.

It sounds like you're doing the exact opposite of me, I'm just running in to any situation guns blazing

Yeah the GPU is an MSI Ventus 3080 and the CPU is a Ryzen 7 5800X. The Motherboard is an Aorus Master X570, I updated the BOIS with Q-Flash Plus, worked a charm first time.

Finally got the build finished, plugged it into my big Sony screen and it doesn't work though . From googling, the HDMI port on the 3080 is 3.1 but the TV isn't, and I need a Display to HDMI adapter to plug it into that. Fortunately I do have a monitor upstairs which I lugged down and got it all set up and working on that. Going to have a go on Cyberpunk 2077 this evening :D.

Just did a couple of hours free roaming on my bike in and around and the city and meanwhile chasing cars as a side quest, Won't spoil so leave it to here. Now in total about 13 hours playtime and guess my overall progress ----> Yep 2%, two full percent. What a game this is. Now back to my other world and discover photo mode.

Managed about 2hrs play time, I've not really got into the groove yet, there's so much going on, but I feel like this game has a hell of a lot of depth to it already. The graphics are amazing, not seem much in the way of glitches besides dead bodies rolling around or twitching on occasion.

I have around 12 hours into it now, crashed 6 or 7 times. This game feels like a mix of Far Cry and the Witcher in a Blade Runner setting. There’s a lot for me to like despite playing on a really old system, I can’t wait to try it on some good hardware.

That’s actually a good description. Gunplay feels close to FarCry (which I don’t love but is acceptable) and quests are similar to Witcher. The setting is why I’m probably going to play this game for 100+ hours.

The game is clearly unfinished, and underperforms even more for console players like me. It should be delayed for at least one year more. I couldn't imagine how it was in the original release date back in April! First, let's start with what doesn't depends on last gen hardware:
A TON of bugs. No traffic AI at all. No Police/enemy AI. Constant crashes. No things to do in the city besides the quests. Quests that bugs and requires restarting the game to continue. Nothing interactive in the world. Configurations that are lost everytime you load the game. NPCs and ambient textures that don't load. Bad and unresponsive driving physics. Unresponsive and lifeless NPCs. Poorly implemented and inconstant lights and shadows. When dialing the Radio, it constantly freezes the game for a moment. Slow and unpolished menus. Bad implemented audio, like for example: when entering/exiting a car, the radio sounds are at 1 or 0, no realistic transition of sound.
Cars that pop up glitching with the floor, other cars or NPCs. NPCs that spawn in the middle of the road, frozen, or going through the ambient/cars. A lot of other stuff, that others are posting everywhere and I can't remember right now.

Now lets talk about graphics. I know that in a base PS4, it would be realistic to assume that graphics should not be like the new-gen, but man, its awful:
Poor, blurry and glitchy textures. Blurry textures on buildings on very close fow. Panoramic views that relies on fog to not show long shots, and even then some surfaces bugs.
And blaming the consoles is simply laziness.
This is the same hardware that GTA V, Red Dead 2, Death Stranding, Last of Us 2, God of War, Ghost of Tsushima and other open world games were competent. Even Fallout 4 and Mafia 3 looks better, by a long shot.

I will not refund, expecting that in a year or two, the game that was marketed as revolutionary arrives. But right now, this game is my biggest disapointment in games. I do not recommend buying at the moment.

To finish, this is another clear message about the ineffectiveness and harshness of crunching.

*That is my metacritic review. It was the first time that I felt necessary to warn others about a bad game.

Seems like patch 1.04 improved things a bit, judging by what others with PS4 have noted. On PS5 I haven’t noticed too much change except maybe a bit better textures for objects that seemed to have bugged out and were low quality before. Didn’t notice any difference in reflections as the notes mention. We’ll see if performance is any better - it did have frame drops in open world, right now I’m in a building so hard to tell.

Hope they have another patch or two next week though, cause I’m starting to really enjoy it. Story is starting to pull me in. It helps to know quite a bit about the lore, I think some players going into it blind will be scratching their heads or at least will not be as engaged.

A good amount of fixed in the new update

New hotfix to Cyberpunk 2077 is now live on PlayStation consoles and PC. For Xbox systems, we are working to have the update out as soon as possible. Here is the list of changes:

Quests
Fixed an issue with completing the final objective in Gig: Freedom of the Press.
Fixed an issue with starting conversation with Johnny at the end in Life During Wartime.
Corrected a rare issue with NPCs no longer calling V if A Like Supreme quest was abandoned mid-way.
Fixed an issue with Nix not going into his default state in Spellbound and KOLD MIRAGE.
Fixed issues blocking progress in I Fought The Law if the quest area is left.
Fixed inability to find Delamain in Epistrophy.
Fixed issues related to remaining in the second phase of the quest after finishing Pacifica fight with Ozob if played after Finals.
Fixed an issue with Nomads no longer present if V leaves the quest area mid-combat in With a Little Help from My Friends/Queen of the Highway.
Adjusted mappings and re-enabled quest tracker in M'ap Tann Pèlen/I Walk the Line/Transmission.
Fixed constraints on freedom to get up and sit down if neither blueline condition is met in Violence.
Fixed issues with time and space resulting from leaving the quest area or abandoning the quest in Following the River.
Fixed an issue with conversation with Johnny not starting after leaving the hotel in Tapeworm.
Fixed an issue with quest being blocked upon leaving the quest area before climbing the hill in Following the River.
Fixed the objective “Go into booth 9” not completing if the room’s entered too fast in Automatic Love.
Fixed Jackie’s issues with sitting still in The Ripperdoc.
Other quest fixes

Gameplay
Fixed the preview in weapon crafting.

Visual
Reduced vehicle appearance pop-in.
Speeded up switching first person perspective to third person perspective in a vehicle.
Fixed issues with animations missing from important quest NPCs during cinematics.

Performance & Stability
Improved stability, including various crash fixes.

Miscellaneous
Modified the flashing effect on braindances to reduce the risk of inducing epileptic symptoms. The effect has been smoothed out and the flashes reduced in frequency and magnitude.
Removed copyrighted songs incorrectly present in the game with "Disable Copyrighted Music" feature toggled on.

PC-specific
Switching language to default in the in-game settings now correctly sets it to the language of your Steam client.

Console-specific
Improved reflections quality on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 to eliminate the smudge effect.
Fixed “The Wasteland” achievement being stuck on 97% after completing all relevant missions in The Badlands on Xbox.
Fixed an issue with missing PT-BR VO for Xbox players in Americas

Yeah glad ill be getting it in a couple of years on ps5, a full ps5 version hopefully fixed well enough, with add-ons and a complete version on discount, then i won't be dissapointed so much and can enjoy it as much as can be hoped, and as i wished.

Been playing it for a bit. I get around 30 fps on high settings with my Ryzen 5 3600 and GTX 1060. Which is kinda disappointing when they said this configuration was "recommended" for 1080p

Got to the part with Keanu Reeves now. I know he hasn’t been good for a while now, but his delivery so far is pretty dry. On par with some random goons in the game. Hope it improves, but I wouldn’t bet on it. On the other hand, sound and music in the game are great as is most of the voice acting.

I'm playing CP2077 with a headphone (Steelseries Arctis 7). Anyone else have a 'double echoing voices' during the conversations when you are in a room? Outside the voice acting sound is ok. I also tried another (wired) headphone and played around with e.g. DTS/DTX, Dolby for Windows, on and off but the result does not change. Still two voices with a delay of a couple of milliseconds.

Read several support forums and all I read is the sound crackling issue. This is a different one. For me not a showstopper but a bit annoying.

Edit: fixed my sound issue. Had to disable the extra sound enhancement in the sound properties.

haha: when you have to chose a 'doll' and you forgot the name and selected the wrong one. Then a previous save game is your best friend :)

Just saw the digital foundry video on ps4 and ps4 pro. I have a base ps4. I am going to buy it, so that I can experience the full updatd version on ps5, once I get one and the official next-gen version is released.

It reminds me of the nineties, where I had a really crappy pc and had to play almost every game with minimum settings. Still had a blast, and then when I finally could play the game on max setting I would lose my S**t!

Since the game itself is a rpg I really see myself playing multiple playstyles, I think I’ll be happy to experience the coming year with all it’s improvements.
