Okay, so the previous Crappy Car Club went down the tube. I got Event's permission (he ran the previous C³) to create a new C³, so, this is the new verison of the Official Crappy Car Club.

If you own a crappy car for your daily driver, this is the club to join!

Members List:

Rules are exactly the same as the previous C³. There's just one new one.
You must post at least 1 picture of your car to apply for the members list. Yes, you may post your pros and cons, but to become a certified member you must post a pic.

Simply post your daily driver and put down the pros and cons of it and I (and possibly other members that I choose to Moderate) will collaborate to decide whether or not your car is a big enough piece of crap to get you into this "prestigious" club.

E.G.: 1999 Toyota Corrola CSI (my actual car to be honest XD)

Pros:

  1. Starts each time
  2. Nice engine sound above 4'000 rpm
  3. Got a bit of kick for a 4 cyl.
  4. 6 stacker CD drive
Cons:

  1. Paint is peeling.
  2. Ding in the side
  3. One window had a huge chip in it.
  4. Celing fabric has nearly fallen off, currently being held up by thumbtacks (this is common of '99 Corrola's)
Etc. etc.

Members: Put this in your sig to show your support, if you like (just remove the space at the ending URL tag):

Please, no Porsches.

Oh, and NO RICERS!

I've just copied this over from the other thread and will fix as necessary.

1988 Nissan Skyline GXE
-----------------------

Pros
- Still nothing wrong mechanically (Long live the RB30E)
- Epic sound system for the front passengers

Cons
- Tranny's starting to slip (it's a 4-speed auto, so I'm not surprised)
- Spare wheel in the boot is currently patched up with a plug and is still leaking air so it will be useless if I get a puncture (fixed, however that spare is now actually on the car. Turns out the leak isn't too big and only requires a little bit of air every few weeks)
- The rear speakers aren't actually wired in (interference with the amp they're connected to forces a lot of engine noise to go through the sound system; 120 bucks temporarily gone to waste)
- USB/iPod input for the sound system never has worked and still isn't working (30 bucks down the drain)
- After doing a 500km trip up to Adelaide it has developed an oil leak which seems to be the rocker gasket; its running a hell of a lot hotter than it should
- Air conditioning works fine, just can't point it to me, its stuck on the windscreen
- Boot release is a bit rooted, ended up spending half an hour trying to get it open, gave up and just popped the lock. Been fixed. (EDIT: actually hasn't been fixed, have to pop the lock every time I want to get into the boot)

New cons
- Pulls to the left; wheel alignment's out. Going to be fixed when I get new wheels
- Doesn't idle properly; if it's cold it'll cut out a couple of times
- Makes a few creaks and moans when cornering

EDIT: Piccies - BEWARE 56K USERS, some of these are about 4MB in size each...

When I first got a hold of it:

...And after I made a mess of it at a roundabout:

'89 Mercury Tracer

Pros:
- It's a surprisingly fun little deathtrap
- 40mpg average if I mostly drive on the interstate (!)
- If I just want to get out for a bit, I don't have to worry too much about my gas budget.
- Previous owner did a little paint touchup, and the contrast between black and white looks just right.
- Paid $300 for it.
- Generally starts up without a problem.
- The engine is surprisingly peppy. Note that I said peppy; not strong, not fast, not good, but peppy.
- 5 speed transmission.
- It's a 2 door with a decent body design for a hatchback.
- Girls seem to think it's cute.

Cons:
- Girls seem to think it's cute.
- Previous owner did a little paint touchup, and while they had good taste, they didn't have good tape-applying skills, and you can find traces of stray black spraypaint here and there.
- It is IMPOSSIBLE to find one of those car-owner books that tells you how to take everything apart that covers the first-gen Mercury Tracer.
- 82 hp I4 brand new.
- Fuel gauge doesn't work. When you fill it up, it goes all the way to the top and stays there for maybe 1/8th of a tank, then fluctuates all over for the next 1/4 tank, then drops down to E for the rest.
- Hood paint is chipped all over from many trips down previous owners' gravel road.
- Cassette radio won't play cassettes and can't be turned off; you just have to turn the volume all the way down if you don't want to listen.
- Getting up to interstate speed takes a while.
- It rattles loudly because of the throwout bearing
- It also rattles because of the loose exhaust pipe
- When I turn the heater on, it reeks of cigarette smoke. The whole car used to until I spent a month spraying it with various chemicals. ...I wouldn't light a match near it.
- No AC (in that part of the south where we have long streaks of ridiculously humid days over 100 degrees)
- I've got two near-bald tires on the back, and one that leaks air constantly on the front.
- All four wheels need to be balanced.
- It skates around the road on windy/wet/stormy days.
- Windshield wipers have 3 speeds: slow, slower, slowest.
- My spare is one of those tiny ones, and looks badly worn. Probably all that travel over gravel roads.
- I've got 221k miles on it.
- The back side windows, which are set on a hinge where you can pop the back end out a couple inches to let in more air, won't stay open at more than 35 mph.
- Dash is cracked from 20 years of sitting in the sun.
- The coating on the bottom of the car is ripped in a couple spots, and the ripped parts have ragged flaps that hang down a few inches.
- Front and back bumpers are terrible. Cracked, discolored where they put on and later tore off bumper stickers, and in certain light you can clearly see where they attempted to hide some of the discoloration with black spraypaint. It didn't work.
- When it rains, my cheap rubber floormats collect about half a cup of water.

...and the washer fluid won't spray. Am I in? ;p

1996 Nissan 200SX SE

Pros:

Solid, fairly quick GA16DE runs well, starts every time.
Gets good fuel mileage (about 30 city)
Has a power sunroof, power door locks, power windows
COLD A/C
Manual transmission
Actually has a little aftermarket support.

Cons:
Hail damage, especially on the hood...
Notorious for having no suspension travel when lowered.
Multi-link beam rear suspension, with struts up front = understeery.
Someone painted the interior bits blue, and someone else painted back over that, and thus it's starting to flake on some stuff.
It's been re-painted outside, too...not obvious from outside, but open the trunk or hood...gray primer everywhere.
said re-paint needs some polish and wax
alloy wheels scuffed
Sorely undersized brakes from the factory.
Not an SE-R/SR20DE car.
The dash lights - electroluminescent, I assume not stock - go out from time to time. usually when I need them. Which means it'll be a bitch to fix.
Needs new clutch - uptake is too high, and slips while shifting at high engine speeds.
Rock chip on the windshield, and a TON of them on the front bumper...

EDIT: Yup. Not stock dash lights. Found 'em.

and whoever installed them did a crappy job.

Well, you are both eligible, but you really need at least one picture to be able to be placed on the list. If you don't have a camera or some thing, I might let you slide though.

- Paid $300 for it
*strong american accent* W'll thar's ya prablem!

I dont know, most of the things wrong with the eclipse made it worse. But I mean I cant have a little rice I mean its only a 6 foot wing...

I used to daily this car, did between 500 and a thousand miles a week. Nearing 200k miles, it was as bad as it looks. Bent frame rail, exhaust leak, rear axle on its way out (has been for 10k miles now), no handbrake, had a shot starter and battery when I dailied it.. Good heater and RWD for massive fun on ice, snow and gravel so I never really complained.. :) I do think it's far worse than any other car in here though.

We have a winner... that's a proper shed

How the hell did you do 500-1000 miles a week in that?!?!?!?

Ok, you're deferentially in. I just need the pros and cons, and make, model and year etc. Cheers.

EDIT: 400TH POST. YAY. 100 MORE AND I GET CUSTOM TITLES! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Wow, eiriksmil... I think you won.

That is a crappy car! Looks like the whole thing was thrown together from spare parts; a real junkyard special. I've seen worse, but rarely on the road...!

tlowr4, I'll go out and take a few pictures now, but probably won't have them on the internet until tomorrow. Got to figure out the proper sizes and whatnot before I upload, and I've got work in a couple hours.

I drive a beaten up Renault 5 from 1988. It always starts and never let's me down. Sometimes it needs a little tap on the starter though.... I bought the car for 75 Euro's and have driven more than 20.000 km with it since the beginning of this year. Even did some costumizing. Lowered the front 4 cm and put white frontblinkers in it. The rear has to be lowered yet and I hope I can do that next week. If I got the time. Call me insane or a loonatic, but this car and I will never part. I'll take some pictures of it this week and will post them here.

My GTI has a headlight out right now. Is that close enough to be a member for a day? I feel like I'm driving a heap around with an eye out.

heeyagooo. With some polish and wax it'd probably look much better...
Is it wearing sparkle lip gloss?

I know the feeling...the windshield on my 3 has been shattered for four months. That almost puts it in "clunker" category .

Did you want me to add that to the front page? I'll add it if you'd like, and just add the pictures later. :)

*strong american accent* W'll thar's ya prablem!

I was fully aware of that when I bought the car ;) Still, it's the best $300 car I've ever seen.

Now, for the pictures...

007.jpg

Looks okay, right? A bit dated, but not bad. The bad happens when you get closer and really start looking at it.

011.jpg

See that front bumper? Think most of that's dirt? It's not. You can't see the paint chips knocked out of the hood in this picture, but they're there.

Ok, moving around to the back...

009.jpg

See that spot behind the wheel? The whole back bumper is like that to various degrees except for the part in the middle where it's cracked; you just can't see it well in this sort of light. However, you can see some of the stray black spraypaint in this picture from where the previous owner tried to do a little touch up work on the bumper, along with the flaking trim on the hatch.

Now, did I do the pictures right? What are the rules around here for pictures, anyway?

So what about trying to get this thread rolling again, yeah? Crappy cars. Please, there must be some out there!

Dug this thread from the box o' goddies that is my messy bookmarks folder. Wondering if anyone'd like to post something to get this going, and I'll start updating again. :)
