Try it with BB at -2

That's what I have the BB set to, seems pretty solid for me on -2. Can get a decent turn in and early acceleration as a result.

Will try that on my US account, I think I left it on 0 on my main, not sure it'll make much difference though as it was later on where the others were really gaining, we'll see. ;)

Yep it won't make you faster on the straights, just helps with cornering speeds.

It’s been a mixed bag at Monza tonight. I’ve had a disco, been absolutely murdered a couple of times and had one race where a sequence of penalties for having the audacity to be on the apex when the guy outside wants to take the racing line saw me bumped from 4th to 10th.

There are an increasing number of drivers who seem to have no idea how to safely and quickly drive the track. They want to constantly go 2 wide into chicanes, defend from lap 2 even though they’re on medium tyres, I’m on hards and I’m gaining out of every turn and, worst of all, fail to compensate for slipstream and ALWAYS end up in the back of the car in front.

However, I’ve also had good results in tough lobbies and, after a D/E reset a week ago I am back to DRA/Sr99. Somehow, Monza is becoming my strongest track despite its intimidating potential for disaster.

Does bump drafting give a negative SR? Had a chap helping me along yesterday at Monza and we made up a lot of time til I had to pit. I'm sure I've tried it in the past and had the downward arrow.

If you are careful doing it you won't get an SR loss. Be sure car in front is on a steady line, not approaching a brake zone or any sort of corner, gentle nudge and everyone benefits. Wish more folks would do this instead of trying to stuff their car into every gap even if it's just a pixel wide

Yes the Mazda RX Vision is no good, at least for me, it's at least a second a lap slower than the good cars. Even the RCZ I just used is faster and that has no top speed, as soon as you pull out of the slipstream the other car pulls away again.

What sort of lap times were you getting with it, out of interest? My qually time with it is 1:48:2XX.

I will NEVER understand the bump draft at Monza. Last night I was under a lot of pressure in S/A rooms and I would take a defensive line early, if you can legit pass me on the outside then so be it. Anyways, instead of taking the outside, folks bump draft up the inside as if I am not there. Like what? Why, how is that helping you?

The amount f fast guys with zero racing skills staggers. They're SO QUICK but have no idea otherwise.

When I do it generally it's because I don't think I can get past without a lot of fighting which just slows us both down. So I bump draft to try to gap the person behind me to at least secure my current place before the scrap.

As I said above if we are approaching a brake zone or corner I won't bump draft and in those circumstances would just lift then hope I can keep in the slipstream while not losing too much time.

Only a 1:49.3 or so best, maybe a 1:49.0 is possible which is what I did in the RCZ easily enough and that thing is a laugh, you gain massively then pull out to pass and go backwards, luckily is seems to scare other drivers (and me) when you gain on them quickly so they make mistakes otherwise you'd never get by without a big lunge somewhere.

I also just used the RC F 17 and that got a 1:48.5 with not much drop off, quite a nice car actually. :)

The Mustang, DBR9, Vantage and Corvette are all quicker than that.
My best Vantage race lap is 1:47.8 in clear air and there's no reason the Vette can't do that for me, maybe even the other two too if I stuck to one car and didn't keep flipping. :P

@astrarobotica What’s up with this Bro? Wanna explain? And I don’t care if you got taken out in T1, and T2. That’s no excuse for ruining someone else race on purpose.

It looks to me like he tried to out-brake the car on his outside, and didn't take into account that you had to brake early because of the traffic in front of you. I'd call that a mistake. I've made the same error, many times.
However, it would have been nice if he backed off, once he made contact with you.

So not a million miles off the pace but enough to struggle for race wins. That's fair enough, I didn't think it would pose much of a threat up front, but I'm still going to stick with it this week. Maybe try the Lexus out next week if the circuit suits.

This was what the guy behind me did, I was expecting a pass, but he'd drop back a bit before the brake markers, then bump again on the next straight. It worked well, I just wasn't sure if it had a negative effect on the one doing the bumping.

I might risk it later - got back up to 99 SR so there's room to lose a few points again

HMMM ... Just my opinion I would call that a dive then a pit maneuver

Most likely, he still ruined my race on lap 1 without even so much as an I’m sorry afterwards, or backing off like you said. He quit before the race even ended. I did defend 18th place like it was for the win for 2 laps after I caught him again though, trying to “cleanly” piss him off.

Maybe he didn't recognize the alt? Or maybe he was mesmerized by the googly eyes on the hood of your car?

ok so how do you get the GTR not to over rotate out of the corners..... so frustrating i have used this in the past but for some reason I cannot get it not to due that all of a sudden probably just me but its frustrating at the same time. Jumped into the deep end last night at monza and surprisingly was not bad was able to hold at A/S been using the vett but really want to use the GTR couple guys using the MERC they were fast and they can draft up but if your drafting behind them seems like the merc is standing still

The GTR is very touchy on corner exits, you just have to be very slow/smooth to get back on the throttle. She was stepping out on me all through that race, I probably won’t bother to use it again I don’t think, it’s too much work.

Yes there's no point, hard work, the Vette, Vantage, DBR9, Mustang and even the RC F 17 are all easily better. :D

Bump drafting is not racing, did Mansell do it to Senna in Monaco, weather in real life or racing sims I don't think it is part of racing, ok the guy in front may be a little slower than you but this is what makes good racers stand out from the rest, they pressure, pressure pressure and force a mistake. If you lose DR for doing it then you deserve it but if you force the guy in front off the track or he gets a penalty then why play the game. I think its cheating!!

Have you never watched a NASCAR race before?

GTS is not Nascar although to look at some of the replays you would think it was, if the penalties where not so random maybe it might be ok.

You just said it was cheating, So, is it cheating, or just cheating because of the penalties? Your theory isn’t making much sense. It’s a perfectly viable strategy in this game.

Bump draft on Monza is possible. But it is very technical and not something that should be attempted unless you know the person in front pretty well. And I'd guess that it won't work out to be faster though as you would have to adjust speed into the first turn.

I am not forcing anyone off the track though I am giving them a slight nudge so they get a bit of a speed boost and I stay in the slipstream getting a bit of time on the person behind me.

As I have said twice now I don't do it in a brake zone or corner. Usually after a bump draft when we hit the 200m board I have already lifted to create a bit of room and then hit my normal brake marker for the turns. In addition if someone is squirrelly in corners or has shown themselves to be even slightly unstable while I am following I wouldn't do it.

At Monza so far I seem to do the most on the straight before the parabolica. You can sometimes get a really good run out of the Ascari chicane which gives you enough speed for the bump draft but not enough to make the pass before the parabolica. More so for me as I use a controller so side by side on a corner like that is nearly always my last option that I would pick.

If I think on the next time I do this I will try to remember to save the clip to post so you can see what I am doing and it's not dumping folks off track or otherwise impeding their race negatively.

You are free to your own opinions and that is fine no hard feelings either way. You race your way and I will race mine.

Well tried loads of cars for C. GT-R I think still has my QT, but it sucks in races as I can't be consistent. Vette was better, but the Mustang is king of consistency for me. Going to try the AC4 later it's a bit slow but sometimes works for me.

I'm confused, they're speeding you up instead of fighting, what's the issue? Unless the car in front is a slowpoke through the bends two cars working together are faster than one by themselves.
