Those clips are the epitome of what was wrong with the penalty system before the last update. What on earth did you apparently do to justify those penalties?

He managed to clip the rear quarters of the cars that spun out in front of him so the game reads that as he knocked them off the track. Thank the lord they changed the settings so that doesn't happen anymore!
But it still happens. I'll upload a clip tonight from a race on Sunday where I got a penalty for clipping a car that already had gone off.

I really hope that the current free for all is effectively a test so that PD can gather data and try to find a middle ground.
Don't hold your breath. They have had all that data for years. It's not the first time we have it this lenient and we'll probably see something like what we had just before again.
They have tried tons of different settings, none of them has been perfect but some of them a lot better than both what we have now and what we had just before.

So I know a guy on here who bought a wheel. But he keeps using the controller. I kept insisting he switch, he'd be faster, more comfortable, etc.... To me it make no sense. Wheel over controller, no question. What's wrong with him?

But it makes no difference what I think. GT is full of quirky people. Actually, I've found almost everyone on GT has weird quirks. Except me. I'm the only normal one here.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, Now, the world don't move to the beat of just one drum. What might be right for you, may not be right for some...... It takes, Diff'rent Strokes to move the world. :D
agree different strokes for different folks I still drive in chase mode with a wheel LOL........ getting to old to switch to any other view game just moves to fast for me off bumper or roof. But chase everything seems slower (probably because I am used to it i guess)

Well, I tried Race C. Now I'm off back to A and B til next week :nervous: Love the track, but not a fan of the car.

Started 10th, punted off at the chicane, recovered and slid in to someone else for a 3 second penalty. Next up, a 1.5 second penalty for brushing the wall, then another 3 second penalty for hitting someone who unghosted on the pit exit.

I was last, 30 seconds off 17th place by lap 7, so I gave up.

Nothing is wrong if it works.

There's a Japanese World Finalist who uses only one foot for gas and brake.
There's a legendary driver here who not only uses a controller, he stands.
There's people here using a wired PS controller because they play so long the wireless ones run out of juice.
And so on.

Roll that all up and you got yourself some mostly good, always interesting racing. Sure Lewis Hamilton could brag that he beat some professional drivers. But only we can brag that we probably beat a pilot, an engineer, a senior citizen and 8 year old all in the same race. :D

Reading about this week Daily Race I'm gonna go against the trend and say : I'm having a blast at Race C this week!:D

Last week I dropped to DR.B doing GR.3 races. Now I'm back in a road car and back to DR.A in no time. I have set a miserable QT 1.59 (forgot to not cross the line) so I'm starting at the back but not last. Starting on Medium for 4 laps and finish on Soft taking care of the front right during the soft stint.

Most of the race are clean, except bad drivers with TCS 0 :D and one guy who drove me off track 3 times. On the last lap I did punt him far off at the first hairpin. Got 3 sec pens but still finish in front of him. From the comment in the chat, he was not happy! I just reminded him he took me out 3 time. Fortunately, he was not in the next race.

All I know is there's a lot of people not using TCS that should be.
You know those people who spin out on corner exits, and create problems for the people behind them?
A few times I have sent post-race messages saying "Dude, turn on your TCS".

THIS!
This is why I keep TCS on. Sometimes in the heat of the race I get tense and hammer the pedal a bit more.

i use touchpad for steering , L3 for go, R3 for brakes, Arrow buttons for gears. It’s personal preference really

Are you an octopus, this make no sense! :odd:

I'm racing with my EMEA account right now

Race B with NSX
QT: 1:54.779

That is getting down there, nice!

Do you drive the 911 at all, how do you compare it to the NSX? I've been really making an effort to try pretty much everything in my garage over the last few weeks. I like the 911 but the NSX is next closest (hate using the META) I did well with it but I still prefer the 911 a little more but part of me feels the NSX has more to give...you've proven that.

How do you compare the two?

Hey Guys ,for me TCS is a condiment .I use it depending on my mood ,if I'm drinking, the type of car I'm in and if I'm in a lobby or a daily race .I race with the Geezers and they are always using road cars I'm not familiar with ,so a little TCS helps .When I'm doing the daily races and I'm %100 focused I may or not use it depending on car and track .THEN THERE ARE TIMES WHEN .....I STOMP ON MY GAS PEDAL LIKE IT'S A COCKROACH and without TCS I would spin around in circles

Here are 2 clips from the Yamagiwa Gr.3 race last month.
In each of them, I was using TCS 3, and had my races ruined by people who clearly were not using TCS.
I couldn't care less what driving aides people use, until they create hazards for others.

Like Winnie said, since I use X button throttle, there's no way for me to competently drive a 500+ hp car without TCS.
For street cars under 300 hp, I can usually figure out how make it work.
That's why if you ever see me with a good Q time, it will almost always be at race A.
In summary, I need TCS...... sometimes. :indiff:

those clips are the exact reason i use tcs in gr3 races. so i don't look like a fool. (any more than necessary)

Those are the worst especially when it's a self inflicted crash. What tends to happen too is rather than try to get back up to speed their first thought is to drive across the track to try to hit the person hugging the opposite curb trying to stay out of the carnage. It's just toddlers tantrums because they can't deal with themselves screwing up but it's bloody annoying when you are the innocent party.

The only folks I despise more are people coming out of the pit lane and drive across the track into the racing line before they are anywhere close to race speed, 🤬

I don´t use drive that car. Now i´m trying with Renault and it feels fast to me on this race. The key is how you step the brakes.

Been doing some race C dailies on my alt this evening just for fun and giggles. Not set a lap time so starting at the back just to see how I do. Had some good finishes and some bad too but this one has to be my favourite of the evening.

I was fairly satisfied with 10th as I took the final corner as this had some good clean racing but well the end had more to offer and I have been laughing ever since

You only need to beat me to check all that off, I'm (getting close to becoming) a senior citizen, used to be a software engineer, still behave like an 8 year old and am currently flying over North Korea :P

For the 8 year old in me, always trying to please my passengers. ATC did you say runway or parkway, oh nvm, we're here.

I hope the Nord is back on before penalties go back to "Thou shalt not pass" mode. I'm feeling the itch to race but this week's races are too slow for me  (Not a fan of Maggiore, narrow tracks are better)

@Timm Sheehan I am on a pad like you. I am also old and has some problems with worn finger joints but I run TCS0.
I will happily hop in a custom lobby with you to practice this skill together.
You know I am no alien and that I'm not all that fast. Maybe we can help each other grow

I use the DS4, triggers for gas/brake, X and square for gears and left stick for steering.
And sensitivity on 7

I would appreciate getting together and learning some good tricks from you.

I am going to try TCS0 this week for Kermit's Porsche Challenge (at least start with TCS 0 until I create to many problems for others) so we will see my how my progress is advancing from this week's practice. Please don't expect much but so far I am doing . . . . ok. See you Saturday.

Tokyo CONFIRMED!!!

I manage to win one race from the back this morning.

It's really hard to trust anyone now with the sleepy penalty. There is a 50% chance you get hammered in your door once you get alongside a car. At least, I don't get a penalty for it. There is absolutely no chance to overtake from the outside.

In this clip, I had the better tire and I'm pretty sure the guy open up his steering just enough to push me off track. It's subtle, I might be wrong.

In this one I make it trought the chicane with another car and some traffic

haven't ventured into the longer race c yet. so far stuck with a and b. what is the pitstop procedure?
Most people in the races I've been in are doing 6 or 7 laps on the soft. The field spreads out so much in this race I just didn't find it fun.

Once you entered the pit, a window will prompt asking you the next tire set you want. After that, it's the refueling bar. This week, you just hit "no refueling". If you need fuel, you have a little dot suggesting you how much is needed.

Race C this week ask you to put both tires available. You can see this info on the bottom right of the screen during the countdown before race start.

My procedure for pit stops has been this. Start on softs, go into the pit on lap 6, press the wrong button and get a new set of softs (stew and grumble for 20 seconds:banghead:), and then come in next lap and get the "required" mediums I was supposed to get at my first and only planned pit stop......:dunce:

I do take some comfort in knowing I am not alone in doing this at times....
