Finally done it. 91st win and it led to me finally platinuming Gran Turismo Sport which I never thought it would ever happen because a year before when I saw the achievements needed to plat the game I said to myself that "oh man this is gonna be impossible because the thought of having 91 or more wins, 65 or more pole positions (in addition to that you have to win the race at the same time if you're in pole position), and 322 races completed is daunting" but a year later after needing some motivation, practice, improving my driving, and becoming a mature racer led me to this.

Despite all of the dirty experiences that I have seen in Sport Mode, it has really taught me a lot of things about how to improve times and becoming faster despite the limitation of using a controller and as mentioned, becoming a matured racer.

You definitely don't; you only need to fully complete the race for the pole position to count towards your stats and the trophy.
That's odd because like when I got the 65th pole position and completed the race, the game didn't give me the trophy until I did another race where I got the 66th pole position and got a win in the process, that's where I finally got the trophy. I even looked at Kudosprime and checked how many pole positions I got including the one with the asterisk where it shows how many races I completed while I was on pole position.

Maybe it's just some glitch I don't know of but whichever the case is, I'm glad I got the trophies now so not much of a problem. :)

On Kudosprime I'm pretty sure the first number next to poles is how many times you started pole and the one with the * is how many of those races you finished, which is the number relevant to the trophy. Right now, I am 14 (13*) because I got disconnected mid way through one of the races.

And congrats on the platinum, by the way.

Yeah it's the one I was mentioning about the asterisk so I really kept an eye on that number.

Starting to think it may be the case now trying to remember the daily races I did last week up to now where I got platinum and I seem to recall now having DC'd one or two races before. Foggy memory then.

And thanks man I appreciate it.

I'm so close I can taste it...
Races 1537 | Finished: 1326 (1326*)
Wins 84 (84*) | Daily: 84 / FIA:
Consecutive Clean Races 5
Pole Position 64 (61*) | Daily: 64 / FIA:
Maybe after my smashed thumb heals and arthritis eases up I'll finish it.

Been having mostly clean race B this week, always a few fools but not bad.

The thing I wonder is do most people not bother to practice starts? I find people have no clue where to brake at the start of the race, I'm in AS & I've started 1st & 16th & everything between & I know where to brake if I start 2nd or 12th is not the same spot but most people don't seem to know this simple fact.
That's what has been driving me nuts, I look forward to starting dead last to lag back a bit to avoid the 1st turn carnage.
End rant.

I do.. If there is a pit stop I also check on the 1st braking point out of the pit. Sometimes the pit is not an issue, but often it is. I remember when I first started I was doing a grid start and was 6th or something. All headed for turn 1 on a track I did about 25 QT trials on.. That feeling when I said to myself,,,,"Hell, I don't have a clue where the braking point is, and we are all packed tight." I slowed and got punted into the car in front. All my fault for lack of prep...

Good point. When I got my first pole/Q1 time <>major scrotal retraction</>, I was scared and clueless and had to make it up as I went along. Now, like @newb1017, I have a mental race prep checklist in addition to traditional braking points:
  1. Brake from Q1
  2. Q2...Q5, basically I adjust my braking point based on my speed at the traditional braking point *AND* the position of the car in front.
  3. Brake point for pit entry.
  4. Brake point for first corner after pit exit.
  5. Most importantly, brake points on the opposite side of the track for all of the defensive/inside-pass points. It looks different over there and geometry is different too... who knew?!!!
Last week at NGP I had pole. Total brain fade. Braked at traditional point. Then I lifted to recover T1. It totally messed with Q2 and Q3. Good luck for me and bad luck for them. Not recommended.

Kept a calm head in Race C and left with a podium.
Started 13th even after knocking 1.2 seconds of my qualy time.
Immediately at turn 1 someone barges me aside. Then over the next 2 laps all hell breaks loose ahead, mostly caused by a Dutchman. I manage to get past several cars ghosting from being punted or serving penalties. Eventually the Dutchman gets so mad he decides to be a bowling ball. Thankfully he misses me but allows me to go through the carnage before he quits. I am up to 6th following a Frenchman in a GT-R. I take him easily out of the Parabolica and he slots in behind. The expected punt doesn't arrive and he brakes early. I might have to start trusting people. The two ahead in 3rd and 4th are fighting (which looks like a good battle) and me and the Frenchman start to catch slowly. I am tapped by him once into the Rettifilo but nothing comes of it and I was starting to brake earlier due to my tyres. He falls behind a bit a couple of laps from the end. I think he made a mistake somewhere.
On the last lap the cars ahead come together in the Della Roggia. The Italian goes over a block and jumps. He then gets a reset on the track out of the chicane. I pass him just before Lesmo 1. He bides his time behind me and I know a move is coming into the Parabolica. I leave the door well open, he takes it and promptly overshoots allowing me to cutback and power out of the corner to take 3rd.
It seems the other guy might have cut the corner in a divebomb with no penalty so the Italian was probably a little annoyed, but that's not my issue.
I thank the Frenchman for a clean race and he responds with a Friend request. (Ain't that nice.) It worked for him as he followed me through the carnage for a nice 6th place himself.
Talking of penalties has PD done a sneaky update? Corner cutting at Monza now yields a 1 second rather than a 0.5. I got one at the Rettifilo and someone else got one at Ascari.
Also I gained 1,200DR! Now at 16,475, nosebleed territory. Maybe my time into this game is paying off.

LOL! So, this just happened on the alt.

I was something like 1.5 sec off the fastest lap but I managed to navigate the carnage of Race A and somehow avoided all the punting that went on. Oh, and apparently you can get a penalty under this system. I took P1 when the guy ahead of me served 5 sec worth of penalties. Looking at the replay, he got 2 sec for punting someone at the top of the Corkscrew and another 3 sec for a pinball punt that sent two cars off the track at the final turn and allowed me to squirt through to P3. Actually, when I looked at the replay a lot of penalties were handed out for contact in this race. Probably not as many as there should have been but apparently they still do exist.

Monza helps, due to race length is longer than people think. Plenty of time to recover. Still not too bad, just many going off.

I used the RC F. It's really good accelerating early, at every corner exit. It's luck of the draw(no qualy all week though) with how people rejoin.

I know some dislike the GR.4/GR.3 rotation week to week, but I needs another Gr.4 fix.

1 Race A today. Started 8th. Finished 7th.

I thought I had a clean race. But on repaly I hit another car off. Didn't see it like this in real time. No penalty. Still a Clean Race. But took someone out. :guilty:

Short, slowed clip of me (black car) hit from behind (red car) then hit in front (white car), front car goes off.

Recovering from a fractured heel but I’ve managed to do race c 3 times. Set a Q time of 1:55.732. Win, 2nd, win so far. I’m just glad to be able to use the new DD wheel and V3 pedals after fracturing my heel the same day I ordered my new setup 3 1/2 weeks ago. Starting to get used to the different feeling of everything after coming from a Thrustmaster setup.

Had a stab at Monza last night on my alt - my first race on my alt account. Anyone know why I got 0 DR from the race, despite finishing 6th? Do you have to do a certain number of races before you get any DR points?? Trying to build my DR/SR on my alt...

I had a great start, keeping everything nice and tidy in the first lap and getting into 5th after Q9. Kept out of trouble, slipped past a few wayward drivers, and was sitting in a nice spot with a pack of four leading the race all just ahead, when some absolute a**hat in a Veyron decided I didn't deserve to be there, so ran me off into the sand before the back straight and set me back into 13th place! The same guy got a bunch of penalties and ended up in front of me on the main straight two laps later in 7th place - he brake checked me before the first chicane and I fell for it, smacked him all the way through the chicane, and ended up with a 3.5s penalty! Served my penalty and kept my position, such was the stretch of the field! Ended up running through the rest of the race having a really good battle with a Huracan and another Veyron, and came through in the end in 6th place. I'll definitely have another go here, just hope the clowns aren't as funny next race...

5 races before you're released into the world of DR D and gain DR. Sounds like that driver will stay there.

You don't get any DR until you've done 5 races, then you get gifted 2000 I think, but you can build SR, so just keep out of trouble for these 5 races, no point losing SR battling for DR points you're not going to get!

Unfortunately he was a B/S driver. Literally a B/S driver, if you catch my drift.

Good to know - I'll keep my nose clean for the next few races and hope for the best! Wouldn't be bad to start on an A or S rating...

Missed the first half of this week between holiday weekend shenanigans and subsequent catching up at work. But it's a decent set of races this week.

If I could stop making late stupid mistakes I'd be ok.

Had a particularly clean race B last night. Q2 and ran P2 the whole way, about 1 second from p1 the whole way round but couldn't catch him. Felt like Vallteri Bottas:lol:

And a classic race A where someone in the pre-race chat does the whole "let's race clean guys" then gets run wide at turn 4 because he gets caught out trying to run round the outside and proceeds to cut right across turn 5 to spear the perceived offender. Finishes last of course:banghead: Genius.

Had a pretty similar race B to you there, Q3 with Q2 being overly pushy in defence, got past him on lap 2 and he got in such a battle with the others behind that I got away quite quickly. Unfortunately P1 was already 3sc up the road, and I couldn't cut into that, was stuck in no man's land for the rest of the race!

Had a look at your Kudos, looks like we're at a similar level and same region, mind if I send you a PSN request? Might even get in a race together!
