Well, tried race A, punted off immediately.
Rammed multiple times. Not fun at all.
I enjoy the car combo but the racing sucks there.
No apologies nothing.
Not worth my time if I’m honest :(

The only reason for that is because I will only respond by going dirty back and making it worse.
I wish we had a real penalty system.
It’s so frustrating to realize the potential of this platform. If only PD would invest some money and do what it takes to get a working penalty system.
Right now I would take no contact allowed with no pens just sr down every contact major/minor and measured over time.
This is just too lenient. This isn’t racing right now.

Btw, my two races happened to be clean for me, but I agree completely. Would be fine with no contact allowed. Penalties or whatever.

I’m just at the end of my rope. The last 3 daily combos that I have raced many times all had a bunch of rammers.
The lobby I just raced was maybe an outlier, maybe there’s tons clean but I doubt that.

You know things are bad after the race when the comments aren’t even angry anymore it’s just pleading to stop it with the rams.

This failure of a penalty system is the reason people leave Gran Turismo.

It’s not like it needs to be perfect, just functional at some level.

I bet this update it goes back to before and if you pass a car and get closer than ten feet you’ll get a penalty again.
This is embarrassing for them considering the millions of races of data they have to work with and millions of dollars of profit in the game.

I still have faith they can fix it. The question is if that’s a priority for them. That’s what I really question.

first race back race b in 4-5 days was abysmal. missed my marks, caught in gravel, yada yada. 2nd race, started 2nd, and ran 2nd the entire way for my first podium finish ever. tada !

The first race of the day is never smooth. I play at least 3-4 races everyday and the first one is always one to forget. I can imagine if it's a couple of days off.

It's the monday Race A karma. Peoples struggle to find their marks with road cars, it's all over the place. It take half the week for the racing to be good. Also Alsace is all banked turn and lots of late apex, do a proper late apex and you get divebomb.

Went to Race C this morning with the Peugeot. Tried to quali but got track penalty at every attempts so from the back it is. Started 16th, finish 4th. The Peugeot is really good on top speed and have good torque a low rev. Not like hybrid but it's good overall.

I've noticed that too many people can't be trusted to police themselves with this non existent penalty system so no racing for me. I can't and won't race like that.:yuck:

My qualifying is coming along yawningly nicely and I've beaten Sigrun 3 times but I'm getting bored and casually browsing out of stock graphics cards. Kinda weird (and sad) as I know if I go that route, it could be the end of me and GT. Especially with the next game a year away...

I had money in my pocket from taxes...It was a no brainer for me. I think that the talent exists for Polyphony Digitsl to make a great system everyone could live with. The people are certainly around who can do great things.
Either PD is not paying them OR there’s no focus towards it as a priority.
I have no doubt they COULD fix it.
I however question whether they will.
The FIA I have raced of late have been literally flawless etiquette wise, amazing fun.
The dailies by contrast are a ridiculous nonsense.
Obviously you are 100 percent on the button that you can’t trust people.
A system must be in place to punish wrongdoing, or all is lost, for anyone who wants to race and not ram.
I wouldn’t care if there was no rank except safety.
Imo as far as daily matching is concerned that would be fine. You gotta seperate wheat from chaff as the saying goes...
I think this next update will correct things a little.
I can’t do this anymore with the battling of idiocy when I can turn on another box and have it better vs ai lol.
Thank goodness for FIA and the only reason that is what it is is great players.
It certainly has little to do with PD s pen system Lmao if you could even call it that.

Online racing depends on being fair, if participation is desired

I am still having great races, and a lot better than before they changed the penalty system last time.
I do mostly C, maybe that's why it's mostly clean.
There's a dirty or borderline dirty driver in most races, but usually you can get away from them and then the racing is good
The trick is to not stoop to their level, if you do the whole race will be a slugfest.

Also depends if the cars are more slowly matched. SF19, LMP, GT500.
When it gets to be either a One Make at short circuits and races at tight circuits, there are problems.

Sometimes, problems mainly occur at well known circuits: DTS, Lago Maggiore, etc.
Anyway, it does help when a Daily is raced at more obscure circuits. Helps to spread the field out for a few days, before the trouble makers get their bearings.

After testing out both the WRX and the Huracan last night at Race B qualifying, I think my car choices for the week are as follows:

Huracan, Vantage, 911, Genesis, WRX...

Huracan is lightning fast when you can get the right line and not lose traction. Vantage is planted and stable but an animal if you get any wheelspin, and not quite as quick as the Huracan. 911 is solid and stable and probably more reliable for my driving style through the whole lap. Genesis is just a great left-field choice that performs well here. WRX is quick but squirmy everywhere around the track - but it's pretty rapid if you can keep if planted and keep the rears from spinning up.

Managed a 1:29:980 in the green K-Pax Huracan last night and it was a very messy lap. Need more practice to nail the first and second turns without losing the rear end and bleeding tenths along the two straights...

Penalties are back in force, at least in Race B.
Well I saw some utter filth in a few race A just now with only 1 penalty handed out. For when I got rear ended clear to the barrier. To his credit the driver did slow down and say they missed their brake point by a mile, but they got 2 seconds. I got used as a bumper to make a.turn twice, and both times the perpetrator got off free. A revenge side whack on someone got me an SR down though. Hadn't seen one of them in a while.

On the whole though race A was fairly clean, just that one opening lap and a couple corners in the one race that were dirty.

Hmmm, maybe it was the one off. I went in for a race B and pretty much half the field had an SR down at the end. I got a 2s penalty for only a very light brush on a Mitsubishi coming out of the esses at RBR. But then the next race in SR90, the quality was much better - the only person who picked up major penalties was a pretty rough German driver but most of his moves he got the penalty for. Maybe I am just overreacting, sorry.

I just wanna say....I'm not usually the type of dude who would take it personally against others or at least do some trash talking/taunting post races but this dude seems to be wanting to bring out my very aggressive side/R4M side because of this guy's taunting. Oh and also in the gif you're seeing, he squeezed me on the last lap and had the audacity of doing a taunt. I just replied with that's all I needed.

I wasn't able to be queued with that dude again but the next time I get queued with that dude, I'll probably won't hesitate to go very aggressive at him.

I got a couple of poles last night in race A. Completely botched the first one by missing a braking point by about 50m. Got away cleanly in the second race and had a 2.5 sec lead by the time I got to the top of the hill, and won by about 8 seconds. Apparently things happened behind me in this one...

Thoughts on using the Corvette C7 Gr.3 for Race B? I saw it appear at least once in the top ten times, but then again, it was last morning when the race was new to the rotation. At any rate, I might see what happens when I try using the Aston Martin Vantage GT3.

Race B again for me this week. Two races were absolute madness, started on P5, got punted about 5 or 6 times and still finished P9, because people in the back kept pushing and pushing and pushing. Decided to try again a couple of hours later just to ruin races for two people by my unfortunate late braking. Apologised after the race and they were understanding. Stopped playing and went to watch "Driving close to competitors" by Tidgney, will check if what I saw helps. I usually try to brake earlier if I follow someone, but too often I brake too hard and I loose time because of it. Is it something that comes with experience? Knowing when and how best to brake? Will it evolve as some kind of instinct?

I think experience is the key there. You already know that you need to brake earlier, it is just gaining the specific knowledge as to how much in a given situation

This is my page, just punch in your user name in the top right. All the cool stats are behind the coloured double arrow on the right side of the GT banner.

Came back to GT-sport after a 2 month break and got a fabulous welcome gift.

I have a 1.58.xx quali time at Spa. This put me 5th on the grid in a B/S room. Started on mediums, and got up to P3 by Les Combes. Did not make any mistakes, switched to softs on Lap 7, and kept close company to P1 and P2. Both of them pit a lap before me which put me on slightly fresher tires in the closing stages. P1 and P2 made mistakes on Lap 8 and 9 which put me into the lead. Took my 1st WIN at SPA. Got CRB. :D:D

For Race B qualifying, I got a time with the Vantage GT3 that barely placed me in the top 1000 times for my region. Is that any good? I don’t feel like it is, but then again, I recall hearing that there are generally more participants in Races B and C than there are for A, where I usually get in the top 500 times for my region.

Logged on last night, saw the race C combo and knew I had to give it a try. Did about a dozen laps in the r8 and got down to a 57.2. Looking at my gap throughout the lap, I know there's a LOT of time left. It's amazing what a good drive out of a corner will do to your laptime. I saw .7 up after the first hairpin once, when my previous best didn't seem that bad coming through there...a bit of slide, but .7 by the esses? crazy! Anyway, I hopped in the Toyota because I figured it would be better in the race. % laps and I did a 57.1, so I raced it. Logged on to my alt to test the waters, racing from the back. Clean on my part, a couple of blockers, but not bad. Very fun races!

I'm not that good but my best times in quali have been with the C7 and the Vantage. 1:29.7xx (so far), I believe. I can't remember which one put that time up but they were both fast for me.

I have my brake balance at +2 on the Vantage. I think I will move it to 0 and try again.

I'd say it's pretty good.
7,530 people have attempted qualifying laps so far, at race B in the American region.
I guess you are doing way better than average. 👍

I’m using the Vette and have a 1:28.112 with it on daily b. If you’re familiar with driving it then you can do well there with it. The Huracan is obviously best there but for me it’s a car I don’t drive often so I’m more prone to make a mistake in it. The Vette I am more familiar with so reacting correctly to the things it does is easier for me.

Good morning friends.
Last night I received a complete beatdown on A and C race.
I am going to train before my next race entries. I will never give in, never give up or surrender to rammers masquerading as racers. I will be prepared. Next time I race you will see a different driver...
