Starting to finally get a feel for Catalunya. Down to the low :44's now. I've been on pace to get into the mid :43's a few times but I mess something up. Usually, I can get within 2 second of the fastest times. With the fastest times being like a 1:41.1 or something crazy like that, I'm not sure if I'll get there with this track unless I put in a couple hours of hot-lapping. Have only been on my Euro alt (B/S), and my qually time is putting me mid pack if I'm lucky. I can work my way up to a podium if I don't bin it, or someone punts me. Was far as the quality of the racing, it's been a mixed bag. Not as dirty as NGP a couple weeks ago, a little cleaner than last week.....still a lot of dummies out there tho.

This race reminds me a lot of a Brands Hatch race. As long as you can keep it together, race conservatively and only get punted in the beginning of the race, you'll get a decent finish. Most my passes are coming from guys serving penalties or taking a trip to the sand box right around laps 4-5, and laps 9-10. The high tire wear is definitely coming into play with this race. I know with the Subaru, I have to really take it into account with my breaking points. I think after FIA tomorrow I'll have to load up one of the fast ghosts and see where I'm hemorrhaging time
Same for me. Have made some very unforeseen recoveries after getting punted, it pays to be patient and never give up in this race.

that said, has been the dirtiest daily race I can remember in ages, tonight. In top lobbies too. I don’t know what’s gotten into people but has been brutal tonight.

Decent night at interlagos, reasonably clean racing. Bit of an Atenza and vw fest, maybe odd wrx and rcz but mostly the first two.

I swear the DR system gets weird at times. I was on 29,700 points and in a room full of DRB guys, I was wearing bib 1. I finished second by bees privates (see race below) and gained well over 2000 points. How is beyond me.

So back to A-99 matching and fighting tooth and nail for 9th.

Really tight fight here, thought he was a little aggressive with his failed pass given how patient I was but ok.

You received 500 points for 2nd place plus a 1500 point bonus for transitioning from B to A.

If you drop below 30,000 the system will claw back the 1500 points.

The +/- 1500, together, has the nice effect of making the new level stick for a while.

EDIT: Congratulations! ✨

Odd question, but how do you start race C qualification with RS tyres?? Cant change those in the menus before starting the lap???
Need to go to pits to change, but have seen streamers start with the soft tyres?? 😃

Did several race A yesterday, gained 4k dr and had some really clean fun races mostly. Some divebomb idiots on some races thou, but mostly fun. Did start on P1 - P3 on all races, that helps of course to keep clean. Mid pack was crazy

41k DR atm, will try to go that A+ finally.

Go to settings. Change the front tyres. Then, the rears.

you have to start with the front tyres , when you changed them ( in the menu , before quali or race) to soft, than you can change the rear tyres also .

Not really a big fan of Catalunya usually but something must have clicked. I started the week är DR12.3K and have 17k now after 4 races. I am B/S too but must be lower B because my 44.2 has given me 2 wins and 2 second places. Two poles and two p2 and running away on most of them. The one car to really look out for has been the Porsches who can run further on softs.

I wish I had more time for the daily races this week. Interlagos and Catalunya are two brilliant circuits (as long as you can avoid the dive bombers at Turns 8 and 10 at Interlagos and Turns 5 and 10 at Catalunya...)

It's a lesson in tire preservation for sure! Those long turns and the dirty line off the apex... races can turn to hell in a hurry if you're not careful.

The Porsche is always a good option at Barcelona... great drive off the long turns and easier on tires if you manage the throttle for the best, going a little easier on entry and making sure the slip angle is nil when you apply throttle off the apex. BUT: in A/A+ lobbies, man, am I off the race pace! I am humbled every time. I don't know what I'm doing differently. Qualified well enough to get mid-pack starts, have adopted the same 5M/5S strategy that I've noticed is preferred, but still getting run over at times.

Race C has also been the most unhealthy dirty racing I've seen in a while, guys that were deliberately running anyone who tried to pass them (for 8th, no less), guys that were willing to shove you off door-to-door on entry to Turn 5 and into the chicane complex, just nasty behavior like I haven't seen lately. The long turns really invite the cheating allowed in the current penalty system, because people just barge in and side contact is typically not penalized.

I feel like I'm learning each race, but man its a tough one.

Really? Never knew that and I have hopped up and down from B to A a few times. Never managed to get to 40K, I get to 38K then get found out.

Is it just me or the past 6 months the pace is RED hot? Last night, in an all 99-A/A+ room, P5 to P15 was 8/10ths. That is insanely tight man, insane.

Have noticed that race pace in A/A+ rooms is stronger than ever lately, agree. those of us that are struggling to keep up, in the 35k range or so... yeah, it's tough goings. That's why I was so happy to have nearly run 4th in the FIA event at Spa, and pretty satisfied with any top-10 in Race C or FIA events... much better is really not realistic until I turn a new corner on pace.

The thing that makes it tough in NA is that with a DR of 35k or so, you regularly get matched in the 'top split' of Dailies... so starting mid-pack and trying to keep that position is as much of a challenge as anything, and gaining DR without significantly faster pace, every race, is really a challenge. There's very little middle ground between 35k and 55k+ DR players in our smaller pool of regular drivers...

You guys should not feel bad re the pace of the top split in daily races.
This first race in this stream is an example. He didn’t warm up enough or practice enough before entering. He’s facing guys like me who have been racing and are practiced up.
In these rooms if you are not at pace you will be run over…Anyways this was brought to my attention the first race of this stream-lol yeah passive brag-the point though is this fella is faster than people like me IF he practices but if not he himself will be overtaken. Imo in these top lobbies you gotta go in ready or your rating will dive. I personally don’t care about rating so mine goes all over the place…Check this out first race of the stream…Stsrt is 11:00 in.

Yes, if you bobble or make the mistake early you should expect to be overtaken in these rooms.
Gr4 Interlagos I’m sure will be very tough. I am unable to race much this week.
caralunya should be excellent but you gotta know how to run it to prevent getting d bombed.
In top lobbies midpack it can be dog eat dog in dailies ie if a player behind you thinks you can’t catch if they pass they will shove.
They race very hard-you gotta have the pace.

Hi people. I have a new laptop now
I was racing at Cata with no QT with my EMEA account. Good results with NSX and 458
QT with my original account 1:43.425
BB -2
Always try make my stop at lap 5. Not good idea make it at lap 4 or 6

Not done many dailies recently, but jumped on for a few at Interlagos today in the Atenza, set a good quali time (1.38:4) so was up near the front, mixed bag of results (7th, 11th, 4th, 2nd) and aside from the second race when I got swiped off by a couple of bargy boys in front had some good races.

The Atenza is super fast through the twisty bits, seems to have really good mid-corner speed. It suffers a bit on the 'straight', but as long as you get a good exit out of the last corner the FFs can't catch you before the first corner 🙂
I thought it was a couple of bargy boys, turns out it was just one!

No idea how they didn't get a penalty for this...

Wow. Something I haven't done in a looooooong while. Ruin someone else's race by accident. Literally.

Sold the Mustang and jumped in my FIA loaned RX-V. Missed qualy. So, started from next to last 18/19. Caught up to the rest of the back runners. As the 4 lappers pit, found myself running with a GT-R. We inherited 1st and 2nd.

Got ahead of the GT-R as I had better grip. Pitted together. Came out 15th & 16th. As the early stoppers came down the straight, One was far enough ahead for T1. The car behind it, just barely squeezes me into the apex. No matter, I'll be patient as I'm on fresher runner.

Next few turns, the car ahead of me is slow at every apex. I'm tapping it by accident, because I'm trying to run the ordeal line. I'm even backing off way more and still faster at the apexes.
After the underpass, I got a run on corner exit to the left-hand hairpin. I take the outside as they're blocking the inside. Of course, I get run wide. The GT-R goes by cleanly.

GT-R has pace and catching the car that ran me wide. Down the straight, GT-R has faster corner exit out of the final corner. Actually passes before the start/finish line. I follow the GT-R. Nearing T1, I let off the throttle and proceed to brake. The GT-R brakes and nearly stops as the car we pass, brakes later. I'm on the inside line, but behind the GT-R. I'm braking harder and throw myself into the grass with nowhere to go.

I go into the esses and collect the GT-R. The car we pass goes by.

I wait for the GT-R to return to the track and we continue. Dropped us from 8th and 9th to 15th and 16th. GT-R recovered to finish 13th and me in 15th. I apologised post race.

Qualified this time. Put me P5. P4 pit early. I stayed out with the leaders. We pit midway. Came out P8. Cars ahead hadn't pit yet. Moved up to P4 when all was done. Ran rest of my race alone(4 seconds behind P3, 8 seconds ahead of P5) to the finish.

Was good sharing the track with you this morning in NA (EMEA time 09:00 CET)

Did you see what DeafSun did to the Frenchman? 😬
I did 😬 so sad for him, the contact looked weird so it may have been lag. It's quite a bit harder to race close in events than it is in FIA / dailies, with people from all over the world all connecting to one server someone's bound to lose out. So these unfortunate incidents happen often and it's always a huge shame to see when it matters this much. I had one myself in the rehearsal races so I drove the whole event pretty cautiously after seeing what lag could do 😅

Yeah, it got to be heart breaking when you put so much effort into practicing, just to have it erased in the blink of an eye by a mistake, or another driver.

I decided to try my luck Race A this evening. All 3 races I did tonight were clean aside from the usual door banging. No crazy dive-bombs or lunges from what I saw. Race 1 I start P10 and just keep pace with the pack and on the last lap I split two cars that collide coming out of turn 1 and finish P5.

Nothing much happened in race 2. I start P6 and finish P4 when the driver in from of me picked up a 1.5 second penalty for hitting the wall at some point on the last lap. Race 3, I start P7 and its tight pack racing. Multiple drivers get very aggressive towards the end which gets me a few spots. I did accidentally punt a driver going into turn 1 on the lap 9, but I didn’t pass them as I felt bad for doing so. They get taken out anyway with the aggressiveness from the drivers behind us. The former P3 hits the wall on the right-hander and shoots across the raceway, and I pick up P3. I got the Clean Race Bonus on all 3 races which is surprising. Overall, a successful night of racing for me.

I also got my capture card situation all sorted and hopefully I can start recording my stuff once I get everything set-up. I need to learn all about that stuff to make some presentable content.

Ok. I've had it with wall riders in race A. Had them in all my races tonight, and it just leads to punting. Got rear ended into the wall twice the first race due to wall riders being right on my bumper and assuming everyone is manipulating the game that way. Second race the guy uses it to do a wild cut inside and runs me off on the wall. I couldn't make up the difference of his wall riding, but kept it close enough to be respectable. Third race same guy rear ends me 2 laps in a row heading into turn 1 but screws his exit up bad enough that he cant pass. Gets mad when I get tired of the banging and take the inside line and run him into the wall for a change.

Running something like that to get a qualifying time is your own choice. I dont want it, but the wild braking differences it creates make it a total hazard in the race. Still mostly good races though. A couple laps of rubbish dont make up for some good sweat nose to tail action

Edit: he tried not wall riding in this next race and had very little pace. Prove you can drive the thing
