Turbo lag + TCS = slow out of there. I find Group 2 is where TCS is a really noticeable disadvantage in pace. (cue Groundfish patiently explaining why I'm wrong :))

For turbo lag, keep the throttle slightly open through the turn. It will minimize how much you bog down on exit.
For sure... the last thing you want to do is put back pressure on that turbo, with engine braking... keep it spooled up with a just a touch of throttle and it makes a huge difference, and if you then hit your exit marks properly you grab tenths off the tougher turns like (T3) T2 at RBR.

Aside from the whole "front-wheel drive" thing, which would be fine for sprint races anyway (as it is in BTCC), it's just not that kooky to have something like a TT (and the TT RS has 400hp in road trim anyway) competing with a Corvette if both are homologated to the same class, because that's exactly how homologation works.
Right... even in GTE/GT3... for example, the Corvette C7.R had less HP than the road going version. They'll do what it takes to make them competitive on balance. Makes it really fun.

The best thing that I've found to work for me is to understand how the TCS system affects the car. In essence, make the TCS act like a steering or weight bias part of the equation to turn the car. The best example that I can give you is this. At DTS, coming into the snorkel, the car does its normal twitching in the rear under full braking. Most of us can handle our cars so far. But, when you decide to release the brakes & make your turn in, most of us want to get back on the throttle. That corner is very easy to lose the back end under hard acceleration. When I use the TCS at that corner, I know that I will get understeer, so I can compensate. I also know that when the front tires grip, the TCS will allow a small amount of wheelspin which can help rotate the car for max acceleration without smashing the wall. I'm sure this advice is of little use now, seeing that your last 2 Gr. 2 trips to DTS, you're a solid 1.5 seconds faster than me. 🤣

Exactly! I have a hard time even managing the Fuel Map within a lap (dropping it to 6 on main straight each lap at Fuji, for example), I'd never want to fiddle with TCS like that.

Even in the real world, the 250hp Alpine A110 rubs shoulders with the 570hp McLaren 570S in GT4. The race cars, while quite closely related, aren't exactly the same as the road cars; the Alpine is up at 360hp in GT4 trim, while the 570S is down to 520hp, but the Alpine also has a homologation weight of about 350kg less.

YEah maybe 15 or so years ago when "GT production" car racing started up in AUstralia after the Touring Cars ventured away from production cars and morphed into V8 Supercars, I distinctly remember watching them race with an F355 Ferrari and a WRX fighting for the win.

This is all true - but, a Bugatti Veyron in a GT4 class versus a Scirocco? I mean, there's mismatches and there's ridiculousness. 😉🤣

I can see the comparative balance between a 300hp road car and a 560hp road car being relatively straightforward to achieve, but a 1000hp hypercar and a 200hp generic street car? That's next level matching. Next thing we'll be seeing is an insanely detuned LaFerrari versus a hyper-tuned Prius in a GT-Hybrid class..... 🤣🤣🤣

Disclaimer: I would prefer to be the driver in the hyper-tuned Prius.

I see your point here and if I was building GT7 for me, not the masses, i'd bugger off most of the road cars and really fill out the race cars so we had way more classes, like triple what we have now.

That race C is soo dirty now. Had 5 races to lift my alt to DR A.
did start on pole 3 times, and in all got punted in t2. No penaltys.
p5, disconnected, p1, p1 and p1.
will wait for the penalty system reboot 😂

Next week's dailies:

Race A: N200 @ Tokyo Central Outer Loop | 5 laps | SH
Race B: Gr.3 @ Interlagos | 5 laps | RM
Race C: Gr.X @ Circuit de la Sarthe | 5 laps | RM | Tyres x5 | Fuel x1

🍋
Race A is super obviously the GR86 but I'm curious what the Race C car is. Only 5 laps in what's presumably a ~20-25 minute race means we're probably looking at something on the slower side. For comparison, GTE cars put up around 3:50 at the last running.

Probably not most of the VGTs. My guess is one of the Nostalgia 1979 cars, but not the actual fast ones. Stuff like the Renault R8 Gordini.

Well, a 250hp road car and a 570hp supercar. There's also technically a 250hp track day toy in the class as well, kinda (it's actually a specialised version of it), and that can only compete by giving it an absurdly high ride height because there's no amount of ballast in the universe to compensate.

For reference, you can buy all four of the "FWD" cars in roadgoing versions with more power than the Alpine A110, so it seems odd to accept the Alpine as a GT4 car on the basis of power and not the others. The Alpine has 246hp, the Megane III RS had 261hp, the Scirocco R came with 265hp, and the RCZ R with 271hp. The TT RS packs close to 400hp, but it is AWD - the only FWD version of the TT Mk3 was a 180hp diesel, but notionally you could have a FWD version with more, and in any case the TT Cup is a real race car, with 310hp and FWD. Technically, the Scirocco in GTS is also a real race car - the GT24 car from N24 in 2008 or 2009ish, with a different name - with 320hp and FWD.

I'm not aware of any FWD actually racing an actual race in SRO GT4, and anyone doing so would have a hell of a time coping with tyre wear, but I'm not sure of any reason (besides homologating a car for the class) why it cannot be done. I'm pretty sure AWD isn't permitted (I'd have to check, but the only real-world AWD with GT4 homologation is the R8, and that's RWD in homologation specs), so really we should be cocking an eyebrow at the Lancer, WRX, and Atenza.

And Veyron. In fact it's the Veyron that is the problem really, doubly so because there's no Gr.3 version (which I've never quite worked out the reasoning for). But even then, it's a 1000hp quad-turbo W16, so getting its power down to 500hp or less shouldn't even be that complicated: turn the boost down. It does end up as the most powerful car in the class (460ish I think), but it's also overwhelmingly the heaviest.

Absent the Veyron, which can't even compete in Manufacturer races, GT Sport's Gr.4 is actually closer in terms of spread of power than the real GT4 is.

Conversation for Bugatti Gr. 3 was probably like,

PD: Can we make a 2WD version for Gr.3?
VW: No (ask the next owner)

Rimac is in charge of Bugatti now so maybe the answer would be different. :)

The penultimate corner is tricky and it is very satisfying when you get it right. 4th gear feels like the right gear for that corner. Nice to see your growing experience and feedback into the forum.

I felt I had more control in 3rd gear as that is what I was doing the last time this combo happened. My pace didn't feel any slower, and my consistency with the racing line in the final corners was better when I did that.
I got spun aground maybe three times in that race. But there was good physical racing at the back, at least. And I managed the FL in that time, too.
I wondered what happened to you, your name just disappeared on the position tracker as you were right behind me. I did see you had fast lap which was neat.

Minions has pulled that nonsense many times.
Yup.

Yeah, when we got these https://www.gtplanet.net/gran-turismo-sport-e3-2017-screenshot-blowout-lake-maggiore/ I was wondering how can a Megane race a Bugatti. Anyway, as we know, Gr.4 is like Super Taikyu without the true multi-class aspect. Would be cool if the classes were separated by drivetrain, withing the Group. This way, there would be rewards for not just overall winner and acknowledging fastest lap, but rewards for first FF, 4WD, RWD.
I mean, we get some acknowledgement in FIA MAnu for being the fastest driver in our specific brands.

Keep in mind I use AT so "shifting" TC is no issue on a qualy lap.

You're right though, about DTS, through that corner you sort of, how you say, allow the car to shake it's back end to aid turn in then gun the throttle with TC 2 and she will still slip a touch and allow you to get a good exit. TBH I may get it perfect once ever 5 laps or so, often feel like I leave time there.
Hell, I'd be happy to find time at DTS or any track that has Gr. 2 cars. I just can't trust myself with throttle application. 😆
Agree 100%. Would love to see DTM cars come back. Trans AM would be awesome too.
I'd kill for early '90s Trans Am & would seriously hurt for current T/A cars.

Well, this no penalties for punting or bumping is ridiculous. A cheeky bump at corner 1 of Monza, or at Ascari and the race is done. And not a sniff of a penalty for the guilty party.

And one such idiot decided he would try and lean on the rear of the car to try amd subtley push me off. A quick shake of the wheel sent him spinning off instead.

I'm finding it's one country in general I get most of the grief in Europe

I do hope it's something we haven't used, but seems like it may be the Bugatti.
Well it won't be a 20mil car, not everyone has one...

This is an observational thought,
do you realize how intimidating it can be coming into this at such a late time I started GT Sport at the beginning of the year I dipped my toes into online racing 3 months ago I've accumulated 8 wins across two accounts and I am very proud of myself while I see veterans too many to name here but I respect very much with hundreds of wins and a plus ratings.
I look up to you guys for track pointers and improvements and I'm doing the best but I still feel so far behind.
I want to thank one and all for the help I've received.
I'm not giving up but I'm still racing along thank you for listening to me.

It never stops. I still use some knowledged gained by players.

As for a 20million Cr car. There was the Ferrari 330 P4 used in Time Trial and the 250 GTO in a Daily Race, waaay back, a few months after I bought the game(I loved that one).
Anything else, maybe the Red Bull X2019(3.8mil) or Zonda R(1.8mil). The fuel use is 1x. Tyre wear 5x. Could be anything(well, maybe not the Jaguar VGT). ;)

Well, since the punting penalties got turned off I have lost 6k DR in 4 days. PD are not really inducing me to keep playing with this junk.

The bad driver here. Bad as in not as fast as you. Unfortunately I could only start the dailies yesterday night and did as much possible throughout the night and morning. (European server) The penalty system is Indeed close to not existing, but guess what, I experienced the fairest races for as long as I can remember. My opponents are like half D S, rest B S(or BA,BE) and one or two A (S-E). My theory,- the race and fun destroyer could easily move up the ranks, because the penalties are on holiday. they recognised and started to punt anyone out. To the system it's the same as if they were faster than the others. especially race B take the tank-like Veyron and start the mayhem. Just my thoughts , but I haven't slept for some time already, so maybe I make a fool out of myself.
Despite the fair opponents, the races didn't bring much joy. Monza felt exactly like with the gt3 class (I even have the same breaking points), RBR felt also just like another gt3 race. it felt slow and I couldn't bully the gt-r autech'16 with my "NASA and Barbie" sponsored lex'08 like last time.

I have tried two Race Cs, 12 hours apart and had the game crash on both. Anyone else having trouble?

The first 3 races I started, did my quali laps and when the race was supposed to start -disconnected- but I wasn't disconnected. I was afraid I was reported and banned or smthg.

I really need to stop looking at my DR value so much. I had three races last night where I gained 5-7 positions and it either went down or didn't change at all. I think the issue is my race performance is a lot better than my qualifying performance, so I typically start lower on the grid than my lobby rank. Even if I go from P18 to P11, I was ranked 7 in the lobby.

I just have to remind myself that the number doesn't mean much anyway; I've seen drivers rated much higher than me with substantially more wins, but you can see from their data they're intentionally dirty and only got there from numerous DR resets...

Think about like this: which would intimidate you more, your situation/stats or mine? I've been playing for about 3 years & only have a B DR rating & 71 wins across 3 accounts. I've been very vocal about past penalty system adjustments which other drivers have gamed. I've also tried to be a vigilante & get revenge when I feel like I've been wronged. It's led to multiple SR & DR resets. Otherwise, I would likely be up there racing with the likes of @NevilleNobody & others near the 40K threshold. Eight wins in 3 months would have personally been awesome to me, but I had to retrain my brain in driving against online opponents. They aren't as stupid & easy to push around as the game's AI. I got my first win after 9 months. 😬 Sounds like you are ahead of the curve here.

This was my first week back to racing since I stopped looking at my DR. I was much less frustrated when getting punted into the gravel and such.

It wasn't a great week. A few podiums but mostly finishing mid pack or near the back while wearing a door number of 1 or 2. I would have had way better results if the racing was cleaner.

I just took a peek to see how my DR is doing and I've gained 5000 this week. I would have been certain that I lost DR but there you go. Weird. I'm not going to look again for a while and see how it goes.

The GR4 Veyron definitely f

Funny, I'm the opposite. I usually qualify well and can't match that pace in a race. It does allow me to start high on grids and I can usually stay up near the front by just being smart. I don't get many wins, but lots of good racing near the front for the most part. I've been mainly hanging out @ Monza this week and have only been punted a couple of times in about 15 races, to me that's about as good as you can hope for...
