In fact it's already happened in more than one way so far across GT7 including one that is rather recent - it just so happens that said person remains unaffected - not only because it's a misleading data source that's easy to access (mem viewing) but not really meaningful either (no proper access to game assets). They are just good at downloading the latest piracy copy available to them, and merely copy-pasting onto GTP and other places once the occasion becomes possible. It is damaging, but not in that way. PD aren't going to scrap a circuit because its release was leaked. But they do start to change how the game is packed and encrypted which makes it much harder for modders and data miners to do their thing. And before you say "so what", these guys are able to keep GT Sport playable after the servers go down should PD not do that. They have breathed new life into past GT titles and poking PD in the eye hampers that, potentially in a huge way.
Honestly all of this has already been argued a few dozen pages before, both this site and user are ignoring.
I believe in information that provides more good than harm, that sure doesn't fall within that.
