I purposely left out those who are not participating. If and/or when they race again, I'll post their running total.

This was a fun race. I'm frustrated because on the last night I had a tuning breakthrough and could've done better with another day or two, but oh well. Maybe sometime we can revisit some of these races and see how things pan out.

I'm glad to see more people participated this time.

So you might already know this week is Jaguar XJR15 on Midfield. No restrictions. Enjoy.

I am at a friend's house right now so I can't post an exact time but I have gotten into 1.02.5XX for this challenge. Just wanted to see where everyone else was at if I'm average or incredibly behind...

I have a 1:03.941 after about 10 laps. The suspension needs some tuning...gear ratios seem to be almost spot-on.

Well, I don't exactly have the smoothest suspension setup on this car...sometimes the car acts differently in Arcade mode (just you and the ghost) then it does in Sim mode with other cars. I've never raced the car in Arcade mode, so a little fine tuning will be necessary.

I set about half my laps in Arcade (if I can't access the car/track combo normally), and the other half in Sim mode (Test Run for a race).

You're making this tough...(picks up controller and tries again)!

Out of curiosity...What are you guys' exit speeds for the long banked turn after the first tunnel? I average about 107-108mph.

Oh...I don't use TCS or anything like that...But in summary my run pretty much goes like this...

-For the first turn braking under 90mph is a no no....
-Full throttle through chicane and pseudo-straight
-Above 100mph when entering tunnel is a must
-Coasting banked turn at about 97 mph with an exit speed of around 107
-Full thottle through chicane (not always the best depending on your line)
-And try to manage as much grip as possible on final turn with a final sector speed of around low 48s or high 47s

hum....my rear end is lower than the front as i set it .......oh yea the car is a mid/rear engine.....i have to set it higher.....doh!!

hehe* LOL

It's nice to see everybody discussing the car and track. I'm definitely going to try some of you're suggestions, which is the point of these races, I think.

MidasGT is way ahead of me so far but his break down of his lap is totally helpful and I'm going to use it to compare. Thanks man.

I am so far behind you guys but I've only done about 20 laps and haven't messed with the tuning much. I think I'm at 1:07. But it always starts out like that for me (and ends  ). You guys who pull off great times right out of the box amaze me.

But I have to say these races have made me much better at the game than I was two months ago.

By the way, PM me if any car/track combos you'd like to do in future weeks. Maybe next week we can try a +700HP car of some kind...

I don't think you can increase the HP. If you want to use ASC and TCS it's fine with me. No restrictions.

But if you can increase HP let me know how. I looked last night and didn't see any turbo or engine mods available.

Looking forward to seeing that gearing...

My time came from hours of tuning and about 150 laps. I started working on Midfield as soon as it was announced before the competition even started so I got a bit of a head start...I've tried messing with my transmission but it seems that the faster I go with top speed the slower my lap times are...=\

I felt that, too. It seems like topping out at the end of the pseudo straight works better than topping out at the end of the longer straight. You'll redline for a sec before slowing down for the turn but the added acceleration in the rest of the track makes up for it.

I use a set up I learned from Davey, appropriately enough. I really don't know how effective it is but before this I only set up the auto. It goes like this:

Set the auto to max.
Set the final to max.
Set the auto to zero.
Set the final to wherever you need it. For this race I have it at around 3, for now.
Then I set the gears in a step pattern like so:

1. l_________________________
2. ____l_____________________
3. ________l_________________
4. _____________l____________
5. ___________________l______
6. _________________________l

Hmm...that's quite an interesting gear set up...never heard of that.

I'm getting quite flustered...I can't break out of the 02s...Maybe my 01 was a fluke because it fit together so perfectly...I'll submit a 1.02.271 run because I wouldn't want to win on a fluke...at least I can hit lower 02s consistently.

It essentially makes the final ratio the auto but you can change it without messing up the individual gears.

In the R390 race, the tuning breakthrough I mentioned was pushing gears 1-5 up a bit so it'd look like so:

1. ___l_________________
2. _______l_____________
3. ___________l_________
4. _______________l_____
5. __________________l__
6. ____________________l

This immidiately took almost a second off my average time, which was like 1:00, and gave me a sub :59 in just a couple laps.

But I admitedly don't understand how to set up the tranny very well and nobody really has been able to enlighten me yet.
