If you said it doesn't have the YLOD it is very possible to fix. There are many things that can fix it. Heck my Fatty is still going strong because I know how to keep it in good shape. Let me know, and I will help you, hopefully we can get it fixed 👍.

Beav Happened to my friends ps3. I fixed it for him. I think i can help you but first, i need to know, how many gb's is it? If it's the 120,160,250 or the 320. It's most likely the hard drive. They used the crappy toshiba hdd's with those. So before you take it apart, you should take the hdd out and clean the inside, Might be worth a try.

Very true.

That's why I replaced mine with a Western Digital first chance I got.

I did ask Beav if there was any HDD activity when he turned it on for this very reason.

Maybe you can get to him before I can, hopefully one of us can help him out.

I have a 320Gb I have no problems either, But sony did go cheap and use toshiba hhd's so If i were you I'd back my data up. I always do becuase I know there is a possibilty that the hdd will get messed up.

Before opening or doing anything else, make sure to do this :
