In da lounge with Orido and Flesx. :-)

The Mustand is also getting kwicker ( in a good way ).

cotedazur06/Ford Mustang V8 GT Coupe Premium '07/Premium/392PP/Stock/SH/ABS Off/169 KMH

Doesn't that Mustang understeer like a boat?

Not if you slow down enough to initiate a nice apex, and be gentle on the brake not to rock the boat, you have to have the right timing, but then it is a very nice ride.:)

Put the tank car horn on it..about as close to a boat horn as you'll find...lol. Autumn Ring has a mix of understeer and oversteer corners so no matter what car you pick it struggles in one part of the track or the other..makes for a nice challenge....keeps you on your toes.

Do we measure top speed at the end of the straight ? or right at the latest braking point for the right dip leading to 2nd corner ?

At the end of the straight I was topping at 90+mph ... 3rd gear ... 4th for top speed.

Your top speed after you crest the left kink on the front straight, under the sign or bridge, just before you brake for the fast right hander. It's a little tricky because if you look down at the top speed you often miss the turn in point but you'll have to manage..there really was no other good place to do it that I could see.

And remember too guys, we use GTP Rules. The fastest way around most of the fast corners is to have two wheels up on the grass and two on the track to straighten out a lot of the fast corners. Two wheels on the grass and two up on the curb is also legal, and if you're following me you're going to see that a lot:sly:

I always feel like a 🤬 when I kick dust up behind me into the other guys faces. I guess I can excuse it as being legal! :dopey:

I don't mind little puffs of dust from two wheels off, but smoke from cars spinning out in front of me is always hard to see through. wheel spin out of the corners is a little hard too. I think I've done that to a couple of you here. sorry.

Ballast 158 kg, position -5, weight : 1658 kg ( pretending I am driving with someone next to me )
Power Limiter : 50.9% at 225HP - insane use of limiter - very low HP to make sure it's top speed hovers just below limit but the torque make sure the car haul ass.

excellent choice, I hope I will have the chance to chase this baby around autumn Ring.👍

With that kind of limiter you'll get very little torque at usable RPMs. Might help you launch though.
You'll have lower overall HP/weight, so if people set their gearing right don't be surprised if you can't accelerate as hard coming out of key corners.

Never realized this car could be detuned enough to meet the target...good choice. I think it handles really well in spite of no tuning. I might give it a go just to see how it runs:tup:👍

Wohoo! just wanted to see myself in that top spot ^^ I'm pretty satisfied with the fifth in race two as well, took the start and was leading in to the first few corners, got pushed in to the wall and had to start again from last, then I ran pretty consistently and could make it back up to 5th. :)

Congratulation on your win in race 1, ( or 3 if we are counting heat races ) I remember trying all the tricks to not allow you the pleasure, but you always passed me back, NC also gave you a hard time, but you resisted to all opposition, you drove very well, nice passes and all.👍

It actually was race 3 or race 5 with the heat races :P But thanks anyway, I really had to work for that one. When one opponent disappeared another started attacking. You guys races really good and clean. :)

I'm glad you came away feeling that way about the guys you raced with on Monday Niko. I watched some of the replays and thought it was pretty rough out there for a lot of drivers at some point. I take part of the blame for choosing the muscle cars. I haven't driven them much and wasn't aware of the huge standard/premium gap in the cars, which kind of created the same top speed gap we used to have before we switched to the 2 compounds and a top speed limit.

I love the Muscle cars though, so if we do it in the future, and I'd like too...we'll probably limit it to either Standard or Premium only, not both. A one make race, with all 71 Mustangs' with full racing exhaust, would sure make an awesome replay!!!!

I am planning on spending some time in the lounge this evening, starting around 19h30, any one interested in some pre-event racing?

Fellas, the results from last Monday along with Saturday's race are now posted [post=8119913]HERE[/post] in one post.

Anyone interested in learning to drive without ABS can find a lot of good information in [post=7779752]FordMKIVJ5's Guide to NoABS Driving[/post]

Wow I did not remember doing so good last saturday. :) Maybe I'm quite good at the racing part of racing, except for the part where you actually have to be fast. :P

Edit: Great work by the way Johnny, getting all those results up. Understand that it can be a lot of work behind it sometimes.

You'll have lower overall HP/weight, so if people set their gearing right don't be surprised if you can't accelerate as hard coming out of key corners.

The engine does have lower peak HP, shift point is roughly at 5500 - 6000 rpm, and acceleration is a bit lethargic, but at lower gear, the torque ( 400+ lb ft ) can still be used quite effectively. Managed consistent 1:35.1xxx without much trouble. Launching in 1st gear to my surprise : just right :)

Never realized this car could be detuned enough to meet the target...good choice. I think it handles really well in spite of no tuning. I might give it a go just to see how it runs:tup:👍

I used a low miles example, since we don't use tire wear, the car doesn't gain distance during the race, hence no power changes. I haven't done oil change yet since the car was bought. The car does gain distance when finishing a race, but somehow the limiter peak HP stays static - power stays at 225 HP and 50.9% limiter, not sure what happens after breaking in distance ( 200 miles )

Update : Distance traveled in online races with tire wear off do not count toward breaking in miles :D

The trick for using massive power limiter is to make sure the peak HP rpm at close to stock, fiddle with percentages of limiter, make notes of the graph, I have my Stingray peak HP at 5900rpm ( the chart does not always reflect the actual driving performance ), this changes from time to time when the car is still breaking in + tire wear on. With tire wear disabled, even with low miles ( less than 200 miles ), the engine peak HP point remains static. Nice little trick to make sure the car consistent.

In da lounge with NC now :)

Sorry, I got sudden glitch in the race, PD suddenly cuts off connection stream - I saw all of you bouncing into the walls, got DC'd then network error in the GT life, now back to main menu, PD's server remains silent, just stuck without any data downloaded :(, will have to restart game .... weird glitch.

My internet was fine as I still signed in on PSN ...

The problem went away after restarting the game, maybe GT5 error ?

A friend sent a car and some paint while I was racing, it wasn't updated/shown when I got the silent PD, after restart, the community tab updated with the new gifts :(

Who knows?

JP, NC and Orido thank you for a great evening of online sim fun.
My car is ready , this track is challenging :mischievous:, passing is as tough as ever :nervous:
It is going to be an other great DeadNutsEven race next Monday.👍

Yes it was a good night of driving and tuning. This is a very tough track to pass on so everyone has to be patient and await opportunities. I don't think anyone is going to drive flawlessly so you have to be ready to pounce on mistakes. But if someone does drive with only minor mistakes they will be tough to beat. I will consider a race in which I gain 2 or 3 positions a great success. Even just holding my own might be tough:scared:

I think that was a network issue combined with your connection Orido. At the exact time you got DC'd, Cote went invisible but was still in the race. When I went back to the lobby the loading bar was under his name and he thought I had gotten disconnected...lol. I left and came back and we were fine. The new Seasonal came in, maybe that had something to do with it.

In case you missed it, Saturday and Monday's results are posted [post=8119913]HERE[/post]

It is a bit of work but it's worth it. We have a unique concept here and I'm happy to be a part of it. It's great to be a part of something where everyone has a fairly even chance at success, where normally we'd be far apart on the track. It's boring running around alone, whether you are first or last...lol.

^ I see, it probably caused by PD uploading new seasonal :), by the way, was I lagging bad in the 4 races I was in ?

I am going to post a tune for the Insight LS '09, the car has great handling, not much understeer, better than the Golf GTI '05. Able to post mid 22s 1st sec, and mid/high 1:01s last sector, a bit tricky on the esses but fun. 2 bars of battery used for 5 laps.
