I've used both types of bottle caps and I have no problems. Yes, I've used the "dreadful" glass bottle cap styled plastic cap and I had no problems opening that. The only problem I ever had with bottles was just my sweaty hands from some gym exercise or greasy hands from eating fried chicken(You have to wash your hands to get rid of all the grease!).
