Originally GT mobile was going to be a simplified GT4 for PSP but they changed the goal posts and changed the game in the process.

As for it being a waste of time, I guess it is in the eyes of anyone who doesn't have a PSP or intend to get one like me. But ask Sony if it was a waste of time in a few months and I think the answer will probably be defintely not.

GTPlanet should have monthly discussions with PD for getting HC players take on fine tuning the game at least after game is released but better would be of course before.

For all we know they could have released GT5 a while back but as marketing and sales strategy it is wiser for Sony to wait until the PS3 slim was ready, with a price drop and at the same time sell some PSPgo by attaching the GT5mobile release. It gives them time to cover all bases in terms of price range. They get to sell a Sony product no matter what the budget is for the GT fan base, after all it's all about sales and making the numbers.

PD/KY might want to hurry up as all the hype about the WRC licencing, the rally cars might be out of date if they release the game too late as the WRC is going to use the S2000 spec cars for next year arent they:odd:

Why delay or right after? I'd rather call it, on track with december release schedule just like it was planned in KY's mastermind plan right from the start :P

There is only do much Polyphony Digital can do and after all these years I am sure GT5 is a fantastic game. If PD could not make the game they wanted after all these years a couple months sure as hell won't make any difference.

Now about GT PSP, people need to calm down about the game and thinking that it has something slowed down GT5 development by a large margin. See the thing is..........it's a PSP game and a whole lot less resources would be required to make the game.

It's all business and end of story GT PSP is going to make a healthy profit as well as move systems. The GT5 teaser tells me that the game is not far away at all and at TGS I think the release date will be announced.

I'm sure PD could keep on tweaking the game for years to come but really now, after all these years and looking at the sixe of PD the game must be close to ready. I really want GT5 soon. :(

Edit - Thinking about it business wise releasing GT PSP and GT5 around the same time it would be a smart decision. The implementation of car swapping between both games was an absolute genius move and will push many to buy both titles.

No it wouldn't, the car swapping idea is a good move but releasing GT5 with so little time to actaully get the message out to the casual gamers and build up thier anticipation would damage early sales. Releasing one game later than the the other doesn't make the car swapping feature any less of a selling point should it be used as one.

Correct, no date has been given, but Kaz stated that GT Mobile was the focus on some days. This should be no shock and he already admitted that it has delayed GT5. However, he said it didn't and hasn't affected the quality of the game. But to say GT Mobile hasn't delayed GT5 is pretty silly as Kaz said it has slowed the process.

You do realize that GT Mobile was announced before GT5 was right?:dunce:

As far as I'm aware it has. I'm not too interested in GT PSP though so don't quote me on it.

Would be pretty stupid to release GT5 so close to GT Mobile.
Many people (like me) are buying GT Mobile as an appetizer for GT5.

I agree with a theory of Peter Jackson's which is "nothing is ever perfect, you simply run out of time", I suspect Kaz thinks the same however I don't think even PD could add anything worthwhile in a few weeks on a game that has taken 5 years to make.

Well they wouldn't be able to add much in that time. It gives them time to tweak certain things as well as new cars.

Only PD knows how soon as possible can it be. But i have strong faith on it being released on December.

If they release it the second after the TGS press conference, all hell would break lose of people trying to grab their copy!.

Like I just mentioned on another thread. IMO GT5 will release this year. Gran Turismo 5 will be a finished game just before the PS4 and GT6 debuts. PD has set up GT5 with future DLCs and Spec updates. Again IMO

maybe....maybe not not. IMO... definitely. $59.00 comes no where near the amount of money spent on developing GT5 No where near. I expect an additional 30-40 bucks on DLCs and Spec updates.
