Demo Physics - KY says "nearly the same feel as actually driving"

Wheels do not have tendency to lock when harsh downshifting

This is because GT pretends they are dipping the clutch (to prevent over reving the engine).

I would assume they are doing the same with harsh downshifting as well.

I too would prefer to compression lock rather than it being done automatically.

Although i would also like the shift without the clutch in purpose built racing cars as well.

Seriously who cares about grass physics? As long as it ruins your lap I'm fine.

I don't know, it really looks like it's too slippery. I sometimes spin out and start a goofy endless spin in the grass. It's not important but should be worked on anyway.

Yeah, although i don't want to be sitting on the grass restricted when I'm in a race with other cars.

I would like to preform a flick spin and be on my way as quickly as possible, and with the current limitations (the auto traction control on the grass) and the icey coefficient of friction of the grass.

I learnt to drive on the grass (paddock) and it is slippery, but not that slippery.

However we are yet to see if these physics will remain as is or if they will be tweaked for GT5.

I seems quite a few people think that LFS has better physics than GT5. It's quite strange as LFS runs on freaking pentium 4 (6 year old pc) But sadly i agree.

That's probably a pretty good indication of how little computing power is required to simulate the physics compared to the visual aspects of a racing game.

You'll really remember this in WRC part of GT5! :sly:
Kazunori has clearly been involved in moving GT5 development forward over the past two years. Keep in mind that we've had three physics tweaks in Prologue since its release, and the physics in the GT5 TT demo are improved even further. And they don't just monitor the boards at Polyphony, they have pro race car drivers involved in testing. Remember that they licensed the WRC, and have to please those people. I doubt they're done tweaking the physics just yet.

But I will have to reiterate that if this is what we get, I know some of it will be a little irritating, but I'll still get lost in playing it for more than a year.

Demo physics are heavenly, it's very punishing for those that want to play it like NFS that's for sure.

WRC are in a real challenge if this magic ice grass strikes in middle of a rally stage :)
uh, go drive a car at 120KPH into some grass, I'm sure you'll grip like an F1 car.

Speaking of the WRC and going too far.
It all looks too familier.
I imagine my GT5 rally days will look like this video, as they did in my GT4 rally days.

Enjoy. :)
