DF randomly downshifts and its pissing me off

My driving force (not pro) wheel randomly downshifts often when I turn the wheel to the right then back to the center, without me touching any buttons or paddles. Its extremely frustrating that it makes me use automatic because the downshifting throws my driving out of sync, which eliminates all the fun.

I would just buy a new wheel but, I’m not as hard core as I used to be and don’t feel like spending the money.

Wondering if any one else has this problem and if there’s a fix. It seems like a internal software issue or something.

Probably some insulating material that got damaged by rubbing against internal parts.

Yeah, that could be it. Something rubbing inside, triggering the right paddle R3 or R2. Has any one took apart their driving force, is it complicated? I guess ill give that a try, have nothing to lose.
