Looking at the website for the event looks like they had some great cars there. Ironically I just saw this video, did you happen to see it in person?

Nope, I didn't realise that had happened until you showed me. I did manage to see the car on another run though. :P

Did you know that the P1800 is also Volvo's only sports car? And it had a V8 that Volvo was also using for their trucks at the time.

I was not aware they made a wagon version of it until this week.

They build a couple of prototypes with a Ford 289. But they never went into production.

The Volvo P1800 V8

The P1800 wasn’t really a sports coupé but more a GT (Gran Turismo). To make it a real sports car the P1800 needed more power. Robert Cumberford (a famous car designer from the USA) had a great idea: he took a Volvo 1800S and he put a Ford 289 V8-engine under the hood. The 289-block is a 4,7 litre V8-engine which delivers 196bhp. Volvo liked the idea and it solved its problem of production capacity. Ford had a overstock of the 289-engines so a prototype was to be build. But a lot of work had to be done to create a nice balanced car: the engine must be fitted more to the back, the automatic gearbox (C-4, also made by Ford) must be fitted. Because the engine and gearbox shared some space with the interior itself the car was very noisy (it seems the rear spark plugs should be changed by a special hole in the cabin instead of under the hood). Also the heat of the engine came into the cabin. After months these problems were solved. Gunnar Engellau took a testdrive but wasn’t told what has been changed to the car (besides the automatic gearbox). But Volvo pulled the plug out of the project because the engineers weren’t capable of replacing the engines or modify it if needed and Volvo had problems with the warranty of some components which weren’t build by itself. Of course there are a lot of custom-made P1800 V8′s.

Click.

The V8 that is in the current models is the first Volvo V8, build together with Yamaha.

I would like to point out MOST of these were not taken today, this year, or last year., and that all were taken at car shows. But, I know you guys want to see this.
All Hail Houston.

The owner said it was a Ford "RV" from I think the 1920's. It was over 3 years ago, i really don't remember.

Thx Madertus. Correction has been applied. Too many LP Blah blah Lambo's. I'll add a 2010 Race car post at some point. My sig's a link to my all my pictures. Have a look if you've got time. There's quite alot there.

That GT40. I think it's one of the 3 in the famous photo when they crossed the finishing line at Le Mans in 66. That Auto Union is a replica commissioned by Audi. I think the original was there to that year. It does look as though it's the same car. But they stuck it up on Audi's statue along with an R8. It reached 230mph+ in 1937. It's also another car I miss in GT. It was in GT4 If I remember correct.

Those are some epic pics!!! Did anyone else see the Citroen GT thing in the Veyron pic?

@ ilikewaffles11 - Some nice cars u've seen there. Nice California, De Tomaso Pantera and some Audi's. Your Lancia with a ? is a Beta Spider btw.

@xXKingJoshXx - The GT by Citroen. I think I've posted it before. Anyway here it is if I haven't. 2009 & 2010. 2010 it was running. If I remember right. It was Mustang V8. Definitely a V8. One of the better sounding cars that year.

Do you know the name of the other Lancia?

By the way, I forgot to say that if anybody goes to that link the only bad picture is of the GT3 RS, the rest I could get an actual picture of. :P

Also, I got to sit in the Cayman R. :D

@ ilikewaffles11 - It's a Lancia Beta Monte Carlo. And in case you wanted to now. You've spelt Merak wrong on the yellow Maserati.

Saw a Vector 3.5 years ago...Barrett Jackson in Scottsdale, AZ, US.

Pics later, cos I'm on mobile.

That is, if I have a good pic.

Also saw Spykers, loads of muscle cars, and a ton of other sweet wheels!

Well... I said I'd make an archive post for Goodwood 2010 race cars. So here it is. Btw the post may be a bit long. So I apologise.

I personally think it's the best in the UK. But I haven't been to the Goodwood Revival yet. That's more track action and you don't have as much access to the cars or drivers. The Festival of Speed usually caters for most peoples tastes. And you definitely need more than one day there nowadays.

Again:

But my god is that door close to the neighboring car.

Another 1966 Le Mans car. Failed to finish though. Graham Hill and Brian Muir were driving.

Sometimes space is an issue. Idk what's worth more though The GT40 or the car next door which is an Iso Grifo A3C.

@Exigeracer - That red ones got quite a good race history. Idk if the blue one pictured is a demo car or whether it raced.

Tomorrow I'm going to Wola Park mall in Warsaw since there's gonna be a Child's day celebration - with over 70 Porsche cars! :D I'll surely have some pics for you guys ;)

Also... Bom15 *insert a wave of rainbow pukes here*

Chassis #XGT-2 I believe- campaigned by Alan Mann Racing.

Whereas the previous one was a Holman and Moody car (#1016) that finished 3rd.

Think that's all correct. :boggled:

Nice pics anywho. 👍
