@jeffgoddin It was a BEAUTIFUL surprise. It actually motivated me to RUN. I was half jogging, half walking, until I saw a reflection off the chrome bumper.
I was walking with a group of friends today, and I told them about the car, so we started walking towards it.
An official government issue van pulls up drops a guy with a small bag of tools off, does a U-turn and parks nearby (a street over).
The guy with the bag goes to the door and knocks to confirm that nobody is in the house. He then leaves his bag next to the car and walks away. My friends and I keep circling the block keeping an eye on the car. I mean, we think this is a robbery. We're smart enough not to walk over and confront the guys, because a)You don't know what the guys are carrying and b) this is Latin America, what if a drug lord wants this car....
So we keep walking around. As we're walking towards the FSU campus which is a street over the car, we see the same guy who had the bag start walking back to the car, on his phone. We pass the FSU campus, and start walking towards the gym, where I shot the picture of the Samba Bus and Beetle which I posted here.
As we're walking, we look to the left, and a big truck with a trailer pulls up and starts backing into the street. We're all thinking, 'This is how they're going to transport it'.
The driver of the government issued van pulls up and blocks the road. We are ACTUALLY witnessing a robbery....
It all makes sense. The owner is nowhere in sight... the road is blocked, a truck pulled up....
We walk around the block, and the truck disappeared, the van isn't there, it's only the guy with a bag, kneeling next to the car about to do some work.
We hop into my van, and start driving home. We pass the police station, and I saw a big group of officers scrambling into a truck, about 8 of them. I thought they were responding to the 'theft'.
I don't know.... I'll let you guys know tomorrow.
Here's something that I saw earlier... it's a Scubbie, but it's a lemon. I don't know the model, anyone?
