thanks, yeah, I was being funny with the 442 since the hood said 488, so an engine swap at some point... and I'd already guessed and labeled it 1969 on my Flickr, good to have that confirmed! guy said he used to drag race it, but that was so expensive (as inevitably racing that hard breaks stuff) that nowadays he's mostly just a bit obnoxious on the streets...

but thanks for the Chrysler ID! neat looking car, had no idea. and hard to tell, jezis, you mean impossible! I'll call it a Newport to be safe...

488ci would most likely be a bored and stroked 455, hence the 488 on the hood. That would be my assumption at least.

The 442 declaration never stood for engine size.

Hey, at least I tried.

I just don't know why they've got them covered like this at this late stage. Before the coupe was a bounced there was loads of camo'd ones. Since it was announced I've seen tens of both V6 and the R coupes in production trim.

I would assume it's to protect the paint.

.60 over will net you such a displacement. altough that's probably a Chevrolet engine hiding in there. I sure hope not, but racing an Oldsmobile big block is really, really expensive.

yeah, I know, 4 barrel, 4 speed, dual exhaust... didn't know how the 450 turned into a 488, though, thanks!

455 dude, 455! Also, har har har at thar "grampa Cano" comment. I love you.

When I was at a shop on Saturday, I saw the front end of what I thought was a 1940 Chevy, but was unable to get a closer look or take a pic. It was still there today after I picked my car up. I still can't tell what it is though. Is it a Ford?

That's how you make big displacement motors with muscle cars. When you hear someone talk about a "stroker" engine, like 331 or 347 Stroker, it's usually bored out and stroked engine, those two typically starting as a Ford 302 and utilizing it's block. My dads friend has a 1970 Mach 1 that started with a 429, built built it to a 478. Big block engines these days can go from 440ci all the way to 850ci.

I didn't expect to see anything since it was pouring outside, so please excuse these awful cell phone pictures.

I also missed a '13 Challenger SRT8 when the rain was at its worst. Edit: And a Mk1 Golf

@xXKingJoshXx I thought you we referring to the Isuzu in the first pic until I looked in the middle

 Yeah the "8mp" camera on my phone isn't exactly decent. It's so pixelated it looks like I drew it in with Microsoft Paint.

Edit: It looked like this except with a chopped roof and wood "fencing" (can't think of the proper term) on the bed.

*Warning - spot without photo*

Argh, just saw a silver Diablo VT roadster on my walk to get lunch. Gotta love the SF financial district. I couldn't get my phone out and camera open in time before the light changed green.
