Ouch.
Sure, the structure may come off a bit "loose" at times, but it isn't the worst I've heard about. The biggest surprise has always been that the slushbox model is apparently the better choice over those with a stick... Still, its certainly one quick car, and will hang with the best of them at a good price.
I should clarify: I like the way the car looks. The Solstice/Sky is one of the best-looking cars ever sold by an American car company. Beyond that, I am thoroughly unimpressed with it's Fisher Price interior, harsh engine (which feels nothing like the claimed 260HP, and just forget about the limp-wristed 170HP version), and sloppy steering. That's just me, though; I'm not the biggest fan of the way American cars drive or handle.
Now THATS a good spot. I have only seen the tail end of one and for you to get picture of a decent model, wow. Mainly because it was only produced from 82-84 and they had low production numbers AND they didnt sell well.
Thanks! 👍 I had seen it before, but had no chance at a photo. I was expecting "2.2turbo" or something, but the image doesn't lie....
I'm so glad I stopped to take a piss, although I was tempted to film it while driving but I was too busy gawking.
Dude, don't ever film that while driving. Just don't film that
ever. Oh, and don't forget to tell us about the Cayman with the Gulf stripes in shot #2.
What? I park like that all the time.

EDIT: by the way, I've been out of town, but TO HARRY----
+rep for the CLK Black Series spot!!! Hands down one of the best spots this summer in this thread - a very very very incredible automobile, to me, but even if it were crap kudos on already seeing one. And I was proud of myself for seeing the new Taurus and a new Altima Coupe on the road - those things aren't half the rare that the CLK is! Thanks for sharing.
It took three passes to get it. The car was in a cash-up-front parking lot, and the only view I had was the on-ramp to a 2-lane highway. I had to wait until I was at the back of the oncoming traffic so I could slow down enough. Not reccomended for trying at home. Of course, I could have paid the $5....
Wow. It really gets no better than tonight. There's always the Vanquish, the Veyron, the Enzo - but the SLR is right up there with the greats.
👍
See? Aren't stories fun?
That one was particularly cool. +repcats
Bentley Continental GTC
You think they could put more flags on that block? It's only 100' wide. And just in case you were confused: ONE WAY.
Bentley Turbo something-or-other
I swear Bentleys were actually rare 5 years ago. Then the Continental GT comes out and BAM everyone has to have a Bentley. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it kind of takes away the exclusivity. Seeing these, at least, is proof that RR-era Bentleys are still appreciated by some over the Audi-era oversized Passat's.
(2) Porsche 911 Turbo 997
Different 911's, same color. Note: In the second photo, I was not driving, nor did I just crash.
Porsche 911 Turbo 993
Not 100% convinced it's a real turbo. Aftermarket wheels are a possible giveaway, and the exhaust was louder than I remember from 993's. It did have the proper '
turbo' on the back, though. Any ideas?
Ferrari Mondial 3.2 Spider
Part of my "Look ma, no eyes on the camera!" series. The badging just makes it, though.
Ferrari 430
Stopped, dropped off his friend, sped off. Never saw him again. Mission accomplished.
Audi S8 2007
I've been seeing a 2007 S8 almost every day for three weeks now, always on the same road, but it's always travelling in the opposite direction I am. This is not that car, but it's an S8 nevertheless. Amazingly, I saw it through the trees and below me beyond that embankment ahead of the car. Didn't need no stinkin' badging, though.
Lamborghini Murcielago
I had never seen a Murcielago until Friday. A few Gallardos, a Countach 20 years ago, and that's about it (on the road, at least). The northeast US has no love for the raging bull (which is ironic, if you think about it). Naturally, I heard this guy before I saw him, thinking it was some riced-out Civic. I figured I'd look anyway "just in case". It was 7:30 in the morning and he parked across the parking lot, helping his girlfriend get her luggage out from the front compartment. Not an easy job. For some reason, the photo I took then was fuzzier than a wooly bear. Since he left after I realized this, I was pissed. Amazingly, I happened to be there when he picked her up at the end of the day. I could have left where I was earlier, but chose to hang out for a few more minutes. Pure chance. He left not 20 seconds after taking this photo.
