I have a feeling Doug is in transition to Atlanta. He hasn't even been on MSN at all. How much you wanna bet there was a Vanquish or Viper Coupe rolling around while he's been busy?

I have a feeling Doug is in transition to Atlanta.

He is, I thought he would have posted that in here somewhere. I know he said something in the scavenger hunt thread.

...Hes probably upset over my two Viper Coupe spots...

Speaking of that:

I was talking to my friend Max last night and it turns out that the blue with white stripes one is his neighbor's car. I know that he told me before that he had a GTS, but he also told me he crashed it, so I assume this SRT-10 Coupe was the replacement...

Speaking of SRT10 Coupes, the new Car and Driver came in. The Viper is quicker, handles better, looks better, and, apparently unbeknownst to the editors, actually won the comparison test.

EDIT: Damn, damn, damn. It's got an electronic throttle now.

What you do overlook in your assessment there Keef is that the Viper is less-comfortable, more expensive, and overall only slightly more capable than the Corvette (only in terms of acceleration... Blame it on the 600 BHP). Otherwise, the cars' performance is nearly identical, and largely comes down to what you prefer in your sports car; The heavyweight boxer or the just-as-deadly middleweight UFC fighter.

But it isn't as though I completely hate the Viper either. They're still the two best-performing cars you can buy for LESS than $100K, both give the European stables the finger, and best of all, both are built right here in the USA.

Does it really get any better than that?

Aston-Martin V12 Vanquish

Okay secret though. This is the first one I've ever photographed "on the road" but actually it was at a vehicle rental place offered for rent. So it doesn't count, to me. However if someone were to rent it and I saw it on the road, it'd be a different story. Anyone?!?! My only true spot in the last few days:

Aston-Martin DB7 Volante

This was spotted on I-24 somewhere in Tennessee. No plates. Despite being in transit it counts. Not a lot of red Astons...

Other spots...

Hooray Illinois! My second-favorite State (tied with Florida)!

Atlanta isn't that bad, its not like you're stuck in the Appalachian mountains with the good ol' boys, running moonshine in a '69 Dodge Charger R/T, jumping creeks, and running from a man named "Boss Hog."

Still, I'm looking forward to the Georgia spots. They were pretty decent as I recall last year, and you do get to see vehicles of a different flavor from time-to-time, no?

You're right, YSSMAN. One is the old father who grew up on the construction site. He's rough and tumble, scruffy, loud, and strict, but he does his job and does it damn well, every time. The other is his son, who is still in college but working at the office part-time. He's way more civilized than his dad, and softer, but he's a little lenient, too. He gets out of shape every now and then, especially when he's out dancing with the chicks. He's just as good as his dad, but a lack of experience means he's got to work a little harder to be that good.

Anyway, the Dodge is totally better. See, the Dodge is the muscle car for old-school Honda sports car lovers. The Vette is for those softies who like...Volkswagen.

Doug, now you don't have an excuse not to be online. But I'll give you a couple more days to straighten everything out in you dorm, or wherever you're living.

I don't think I can describe how funny that was the first time I read it. A very good burn! ZING!

...Don't get me wrong, the new Viper coupe is bad-ass, but just like how I prefer the V8 Vantage over the "better" R8, I'll take the minor performance difference with the 'Vette. Plus, there is always next year...

(Points to Blue Devil on horizon)

My apologies. I said before that the Viper still had a mechanical throttle. Well, Bah humbug, they've switched to electronic. Why? Well, because it has slower response, of course. :odd:

I don't like the Viper anymore.

I agree with you about the V8V though. The R8 sux. It looks like that one girl in middle school. You know, the one with the huuuge forehead.

It depends. How much are you willing to pay for the Corvette BD over the Viper?

Which with 100 more horsepower is still only just as quick as the Z06. The Viper is to heavy.
The 500Bhp Viper was just as quick as a Z06, so I'm not going to believe the 600Bhp Viper can't pull better results until I see a magazine comparison.

Edit* It appears after a C&D test, the Viper was crowned the better performer of the 2.

I seem to recall that that the Viper was only just as fast, but that was some time ago. Meh whatever, I still see no point in even thinking about an 80,000 dollar Dodge.

**Actually do you have the C&D article? Allpar says the 08 Vipers hit 60 in under 4 seconds, while the Z06 does it in 3.6-3.8 depending on were you look. Yes the Viper does have a higher top speed though.

Heres that Nissan Pao i saw the other day, seems the guy went down to the seafront today too :):

Also earlier on tonight i saw, and proceeded to drool at, a stunning purple with white stripes Chevrolet El Camino SS  In Pretty damn good condition, driven by a young couple with a female driving!! I couldnt believe it, no pics though because it was dark, i was driving and my camera phone takes crap night pictures...

The sound sure was amazing though, really made my day :D

Those things arent even common in america, yet finding one here in the UK is certainly quite a rarity. Recently however i found some old american cars like to gather at the American Diner on the seafront, not sure how often but it was a wednesday a few weeks back when i saw a blue 34 ford, S&H Torino and a red 70-something corvette. it was absolutely bucketing it down though and i got rather wet so no pics then either :grumpy:

In all honesty, I'd rather go for the Viper. $70,000 for a 505Bhp Z06, or just $14,000 more for a 600Bhp Viper. That's not even including the fact the Blue Devil will be near or more than likely at the 6 figure mark.

The Dodge Viper was only ahead of the Corvette in every acceleration test by about a tenth of a second, and only had minor improvements over the Vette in the handling department (skidpad better by .01g, lane change by about 1 MPH), but I'd chalk that up to the Pilot Sport PS2s over the Eagle F1s. They're shockingly close in performance, and it more or less comes down to how much money you want to spend, and furthermore, how much you want to use your car. The Corvette still wins in the day-to-day category, but when it comes to grabbing attention, the Viper wins hands-down.

We'll see how Chevy prices the Blue Devil, I really can't see it surpassing the XLR in price, but you never know. My expectations are in the $90K range to start, right around Viper prices, with an extra 50 BHP advantage. Given that the Vette is already 400lbs lighter and only a tenth of a second behind, it won't take much to knock the Viper back off the top-spot.

...But this being said, it really doesn't matter that much to me; They're still the two best sports cars you can buy for a "reasonable" amount of money that will scare the pants off cars that cost three or four times as much...

I know this isn't car related, but it is transport related.

I saw this right outside my office window (12th Floor). It hovered there for ages and even went lower and closer to the other buildings. I have no idea what they were doing but I have never seen a helicopter this close to buildings (with no landing pads in sight) before.
