That'l be a flying spur ;)
Bentley Flying Spur. Bentley's version of the Toyota Camry.
I just compared the price of the Bentley with the price of the Camry and there is a litte difference.
Thanks Alex and M5Power.đź‘Ť

Nice find... not so much the car... but more the car in that local. It's one thing to see your daily variety modern day exotic in wealthy "hot spots" as many people of wealth like to show off their "jewles"... but it's rare to see an exotic in such "normal" surroundings. It makes for a great pic! Much like the wonderful pic Doug took of the yellow Carrera GT parked in front of an extremely modest home on an extremely modest street.

Shots like these are indeed rare, and nice to see. đź‘Ť

As Holden pointed out... that V12 isn't exactly anorexic. :D

It was indeed a nice spot because of the surroundings, though I have to say I have seen an Alfa Romeo Spider, Bentley Arnage, Aston Martin DB7 Volante, and Lamborghini Gallardo Spider near there. The Arnage and DB7 were likely big time donars to OU since they were parked on campus. The Spider, Gallardo, and now Murcielago were just barely off the north side of campus.

Still though, it is really a pretty normal setting and each of my sightings near there have been spread out over my four years at OU. I saw the Arnage and Volante my freshman year, the Alfa multiple years, the Gallardo Spider junior year, and now the Murcielago senior year.

This is the first Lamborghini Murcielago I have seen and the first one just happens to be a LP640. The driver of the car was a women and she was pretty friendly, but in a hurry to leave after getting whatever it is people get from Starbucks.

Fantastic spot. Absolutely great to see Oklahoma tags on a car like that. Thanks for the photos!!

True, although Bentley's version has similar sales figures.

My recent spots:

quattroporte_sport_gt-110107.jpg

Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT

quattroporte_exec_gt-110207.jpg

Maserati Quattroporte Executive GT

That means I covered BOTH of Maserati's rare trim levels of the Quattroporte (today!). I've now seen five Sport GTs, but the Executive GT is elusive as hell (for several reasons - wheels are the same is a big one) and I'm so so glad I finally saw one. Very hard car to see.

gallardo_se-110107-2.jpg

My very first Lamborghini Gallardo SE! Also a very hard car to see. I've now seen the regular Gallardo, the extremely rare Gallardo Nera, the Gallardo Spyder, and the Gallardo SE. I'm missing the Superleggera and hopefully upon seeing that I'll have the Gallardo totally seen... though I know there's a Momo Edition...

Hope you enjoyed the photos!

I have to imagine a Monte is a bit out of place in Europe, also I wasn't aware there were Opel trucks.

Today...

Aston-Martin V8 Vantage.

viper_srt-10-110307.jpg

Dodge Viper SRT-10.

gallardo-110307.jpg

Lamborghini Gallardo, black with black wheels. Had a good look.

f430-110307.jpg

Black Ferrari F430 on Florida plates. I hate aftermarket wheels, but these really look good, and in the photo they look even better (probably due to the photographer's incredible skill :D).

f430_spider-110307.jpg

Ferrari F430 Spider on dealer plates.

phantom-110307.jpg

Your eyes are not deceiving you - this Rolls-Royce Phantom (which had Indiana plates) is, in fact, purple. It looked black against the sun, but facing the sun, the color is quite clear. My first Phantom spotted in purple... no surprise.

I saw this very cool 1938ish BMW 327 Cabriolet. Apparently in the three-year production run from 1938-40 there were only 482 type 327s made

and a Ferrari Testarossa, it sounded very cool in the tunnel.

Plus this 911 Turbo Cabrio

Sorry, Serge.D, but besides the opel truck I dont really see any of those cars as rare or exotic or exciting. Maybe they're good for your local area or something. :)

Although saying that, I refused to post pics of an SLR because I deemed it unworthy

Last night... AMG CLK DTM!!!

Skyline GT-T (Rare in red as it looks like a HK taxi)

Is that a new livery? Is the Evo model you've got now obselete?

They may not be interesting to you, but there are members here who will never have seen a Megane Cabriolet or an Alfa 159.

no mines is modelled on thier evo 7  which is now on the same 5 spokes at the evo9 RA model so getting a set of those! thier 9 spokes they had on before snapped going up the chicane a couple of weeks back and when fllying into the crowd :nervous:(noone was hurt though) so they said they are sticking to these for a while.

Corvette C5 Convertible and an Escoet RS Cosworth that made me really angry.
C550_00139.jpg

C550_00142.jpg

You'll note he's parked over 2 disabled spaces. It was just him on his own. There were plenty of other spaces available, you can see in the picture. What made me even more angry was that as I was leaving, an old man was pushing his elderly wife in a wheelchair across the car park after having parked in the nearest available space, when they should have had one of the disabled spaces the chav (who was on his phone as he drove in) had idiotically taken up.

So, perhaps this is our new benchmark for nice car-crappy parking?

I know people with expensive cars who park like that. It's to avoid parking dents and scratches caused by other people (think door slams, people brushing up against the car with zippers, keys and whatnot). Most people won't leave a note on a Ferrari they just scratched as they know Rossa Corsa or Daytona Nero doesn't come very cheaply.

You have to realise that apart from the driving, owning an expensive car downright sucks. I posted a picture of an Arnage not too long ago (the one with the 1.6 TDI sticker), that car was purchased in January. Since then a rock was thrown forcefully at the rear window. The caps on the rims (with the Bentley logo) were stolen... twice. The screwcaps on the tire inflators were ripped (they're chrome so people want them). The front bumper was dented (presumably by someone kicking at it), it's been keyed and last not but not least the front emblem has recently been pried off with a screwdriver leaving some really nasty damage. The owner of the car has accepted it and says 2 to 3 thousand euro's worth of estethics repairs bi-monthly is just something he's now taking into account next to taxes, insurance and fuel as he refuses to become an anal car owner.

So generally you are going to want to park it inside, or privately. Yet if you have to park it outside you're going to want to keep it away from people as much as possible.

Sadly enough, for every enthusiast, there are 28 assholes who like to destroy your hard earned property. My dad owns an expensive car he won't take anywhere because of it. You can't the imagine the assholes out there.

So if I see a Flying Spur taking up four parking spots, vertically, I don't judge them.

(However that guy in the Cosworth is just a total tosser. :sly:)

Also, /end rant.

I can understand if it's a particularly expensive, rare, or special car. But it's a riced-out Cossie, for crying out loud. And he didn't just park it completely wrong, he did this on the handicap space.

Yes well as I said: that particular guy's a total tosser. :sly:

then they deserve the wrath of the white van man
[Picture of mini next to van]
Yeah well a) that's not an expensive car per se, b) it doesn't qualify as a scratch preventive parking job as he left enough room for a car to inch up on it and c) van driver's got his parking technique down. :)
